An amazing game where it is was designed with love and crafted with care. Every playable character is unique beautifully voice acted and written well. The game is far superior to any game made today. The love, attention and care payed to the whole without the BS live service or macro transactions. The games gives you in the first 10 hours what other games would give you in 30.

This Game has everything but MTX and Lifeservice BS.

Story, Charachters, Gameplay, Depth, Graphics, Animations, Lore, Choices andandand. Everything is masterlevel

It even surpases the the great Divinity Original Sin 2 by alot. Larian went all out with this one.

If you love RPG´s this here is a must play.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wanted to like it, but the rose-colored glasses are off.

In virtually every way, except for graphics, it is a major step back from Divinity: Original Sin 2. Which would be bad enough if it was named DOS3, but it's also trying to go after Baldur's Gate nostalgia, and for some reason Swen thinks the best way to go about that is to crap all over those great games. Here's why it's bad and not worth your money:

-janky combat (mixture of Larian jank and 5e, both of which are bad enough, but mixed together are somehow even worse)
-turn-based combat with 5e is awful. Larian tried to spice things up by giving everyone push actions and inserting other random stuff so you're not just sitting there waiting 5 mins each turn just to auto-attack, but that is just a poor attempt to hide the problem.
-writing is immature, bad, and destroys immersion. People play/read fantasy as escapism, not to be moralized at by kindergarteners.
-no real choices: In an rpg you generally get to make somewhat meaningful choices while due to the limitations of computer software you're kept on the theme park ride to an extent. Choices in this game are things like: So-and-so has a magical bomb in his chest from sleeping with the goddess of magic (at lvl1). If you get upset with him proffering gay sex on your first meeting and your character murders him, 2 days later your game world will explode and it's game over.
-choices have no impact on future acts
    -buggy
-follows typical larian pattern of only polishing act1 and the game gets worse and worse, until you get to an act3 that is a disaster
-ending is awful (you have about 3)
-egregious amount of sex that does nothing to further immerse you in the game world or plot. It's simultaneously less believable than a harem anime and more grotesque than pornography.
-companions are all un-fun and obnoxious. They're clearly self-inserts by Larian staff, and this tells you a lot about why the game is so trashy. Larian said we'd get better companions after EA since they were only playtesting the worst ones (evil alignments), but this was clearly a lie. What they added in the full-release are cash-grab cameos that (also poorly done) of jaheira, minsc etc. So you're still stuck with the same group of unfun rapey companions unless you go full murder hobo and kill everyone (which is honestly the lesser of two evils here).
-UI is atrocious. No filtering of items. No text scaling (except for the dialogue that's already voiced, poorly). Clearly a compromise between console UI and PC UI, and bad at both. Larian has had the same UI issues since DOS1 and they're only making it worse (somehow).
-Combat is somehow worse than a 25 year old game. Larian's combat designer hates normal combat and honestly thinks throwing barrels at things and pushing enemies off ledges is fun. Instead it just turns this into a game of gimmicks, where you can either shoot a chandelier onto the big baddie every encounter and win, or play normally and frustrate yourself.
    -Music is dull and uninspired
-Dishonest marketing, dishonest sequel, zero respect for the fans, and in every way a step back from a game made 25 years ago.

Absolute gem of a game! I have 500+ games on Steam and this one has so many possibilities for how you play and shape the game that you experience in a challenging, yet fun and rewarding way. The fact it isn't glutted with micro-transactions, day one DLC, battlepass, and a unnecessary $70 price tag is quite refreshing. Kudos to Larian!

I didn't see anything beyond act 1 on my PC as I'd rather play it on PS5, but from what I saw it's without any doubt a refreshing new entry in the RPG genre. DOS2 was already a very solid CRPG, but BG3 is giving me the same incredible vibes I only got playing Dragon Age Origins for the first time. I hope the devs will manage to fix as many bugs as possibile so that everyone will be able to fully enjoy this masterpiece as truly intended on all platforms as soon as possibile. Cheers to Larian Studios for the amazing job!

Literally the best RPG I have ever played. Basically every choice that you make feels like it has some sort of consequence. Pair that with an amazing story, world and characters and you have a 10/10 game

Perfect game, great story, gameplay and characters. What a game should be, no micro transactions, a feature complete game, and it wasn’t 70$. Other devs should learn, this is how you make a game, and if that’s too hard, get a new job in a different field.

This has exceeded every expectation I had for it since supporting it during it's very first days in early access. It has improved in nigh every region, and is an astounding achievement. I can only hope that other publishers and developers will follow Larian's example.

With a vast world to explore with varied stories and secrets to discover, Baldur's Gate 3 definitely shines. The cast is largely appealing and voice acting is top notch all-around, even if the storytelling and line delivery is varied in its pace. Character progression is somewhat weak in the opening levels but has a strong foundation for a great buildcraft experience, even if it lacks some on the fly experimentation seen in Larian's past efforts. Despite some performance woes in the later parts of the game and controller hangups, this is a journey worth taking for fans of Dungeons & Dragons or those new to the role playing field.

Larian Studios, the creators of the latest installment, have gone to great lengths to make sure they didn't disgrace any of the franchise's building blocks. The love and care is evident in Baldur's Gate 3, though needless to pretend, there aren't a few bricks crumbling here and there in this monument. It's far from a perfect title, but on the whole Baldur's Gate 3 is a brilliant computer RPG that is undoubtedly not to be overlooked. [Issue#329]

Baldur’s Gate III is a title that many would not have thought possible just a few years ago. The game serves to further Larian Studios’s already strong reputation, and the studio deserves massive credit for refusing to panic, taking its time to get things right, and continuing to offer improvements even after launch at an impressive rate. Hopefully, it is able to reap the richly deserved rewards for doing so.
