Evolution is a great moniker as this game has helped evolve the traditional adventure gaming genre entirely.
-
It's a simple game to figure out and it just doesn't feel all that rewarding to play through. There are very few puzzles in it. Most of the time simply exploring an area is passed off as the puzzle. Have the game's developers lost faith in their audience? We want depth, we want frustratingly obtuse symbol puzzles.
-
There is nothing new to add to the genre and nothing in particular stands out as being outstanding. Still Atlantis Evolution is a solid adventure game that is reminiscent of "Myst."
-
Atlantis: Evolution hangs its hat on being an adventure game, but it doesn’t present the fine challenge that those who are serious about the sport expect, plus it includes too much tedium for those who are casual players.
-
The gameplay will have you shaking your head in disbelief and disgust as you encounter one badly designed puzzle, maze, or action sequence after another.
-
A highly frustrating game. If looks are all that count then it's very good looking, but as an adventure game it falls short of providing a satisfying experience. It would have been much improved minus the mini games, with a lot less dying, and with more attention paid to the adventuring puzzles.
-
Insipid gameplay, laughably bad mini-games, terribly off-key voice acting and aimlessly rambling storyline. About the best thing I can say for this game is it's short.
