Mar 14, 2025Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is an enthralling experience that pushes the Atelier franchise into a new era. There is so much to see and do while uncovering new mysteries that affect the world and its inhabitants on a profoundly personal level.
-
Mar 14, 2025All in all, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is a fun adventure in crafting and exploration. Its chill atmosphere mixes quite well with the slightly heavier themes. And the crafting is excellent.

Mar 14, 2025This game is very ambitious in terms of what has been done to the franchise up until now, and I think it is definitely going in the right direction. This is exactly what the game needed in terms of a fresh new look, and the open-world aspect of the game truly created an experience for me that I wish I would've had with all the games in the franchise coming up to this one. This game is certainly one that will please returning players and will entice new players to take a step into the amazing world of Atelier.

Mar 14, 2025At the end of the day, Atelier Yumia is a strong entry in the beloved JRPG franchise. Despite a few growing pains, it adopts the cozy and niche franchise into something more digestible for a wider audience thanks to a well-executed open-world format, modern takes on iconic features, and an engaging, untraditional story.

Mar 18, 2025Atelier Yumia doesn’t really take big risks, but it still manages to keep things fun. The combat’s a solid step up from past games, and gathering isn’t nearly as much of a chore anymore—though you’ll still manage to trip over the tiniest rock now and then. It looks great (sometimes too great for its own good if your PC isn’t ready), and the soundtrack’s an easy win. Sure, the $70 price tag might sting a little, but with how much content there is and the replay value, it’s not a bad deal. Just be ready for some of the dialogue to get a little in-your-face at times.
-
Apr 8, 2025Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is another engaging entry in the franchise, featuring active combat that is a sensational evolution for the franchise and a vast world full of incentives for exploration. However, the less intuitive detail system and some quality of life details that deserve more end up hurting the experience in an unexpected way compared to the Ryza trilogy.

Mar 14, 2025It's clear that Atelier Umia is trying to modernize the series, but when you start down the wrong path, every step forward only leads you further astray. An overly simplified alchemy system and a formulaic open world strip away the series' most essential charm, leaving behind a beautifully crafted shell that ultimately feels hollow. No matter how polished the presentation, it's hard to truly love a game that has lost its heart.
-
Mar 24, 2025Yumia’s Atelier is a game that mixes the classic alchemy RPG style with today’s popular open-world gameplay. The main character looks great, the battles feel quick and fun, and it’s really satisfying to make items easily while exploring the world. But the game could be better when it comes to performance, and a lot of the open-world quests feel kind of repetitive.

Apr 2, 2025Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land combines exploration, crafting, and combat to deliver a fantastic experience. Journeying through the world of Aladiss is a remarkable experience backed by a decent story and good characters. There is a steeper learning curve than expected and the visual flaws are hard to ignore. But despite its flaws, Atelier Yumia delivers a solid exploration experience that's tough to beat.

Mar 14, 2025With Atelier Yumia L'Alchimiste des Souvenirs and La Terre Rêvée, Gust shows us that the choice of appropriating a formula that works elsewhere can also be beneficial for a franchise like Atelier, taking it into a new era. Admittedly, not everything is perfect, as there is a lack of optimization in certain locations, but overall, the journey that awaits us is well worth the detour, whether for the trinity (combat, exploration and synthesis) or the story of our heroes, which is accompanied by a quality soundtrack.
-
Apr 12, 2025Atelier Yumia has managed to add a new color and flavor to the series while preserving the essence of the series. We have a game that will appeal not only to the series' followers but also to a wider audience. If you want to start the Atelier series from a certain point but are intimidated, don't be afraid, take your first steps with this game right away. You will most likely continue.
-
Mar 14, 2025Ultimately, Atelier Yumia is a great game with a combat system that leaves a lot to be desired. While the exploration is a highlight, with the game drawing clear inspiration from modern open-world games, those familiar with the open-world genre might not find much innovation here. Despite that, Atelier Yumia is a fantastic starting point for newcomers to the Atelier franchise.
-
Mar 16, 2025Atelier Yumia is an extraordinary and highly surprising direction for the series. It retains the core alchemy and strategic combat, but builds upon everything in fascinating ways. While the world doesn’t have enough civilizations, it makes up for that with worthwhile content around every corner and a remarkable yet optional building system. The combat might switch fully to action, but it stands out with how uniquely deep and enjoyable it is. And then there is the story and characters, which is far and away better than anything Gust has done up until this point. This all comes together to make Atelier Yumia the best game in the series and the most widely appealing at the same time.
-
Mar 21, 2025Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land crafts another high point for Gust’s beloved series. From streamlined and speedy combat, a shift toward open-world exploration, and a thoroughly optimized engine, this is a role-playing adventure that shouldn’t be missed by fans of the genre.
-
Mar 14, 2025Atelier Yumia is a must-play RPG. Its open-world exploration is incredibly moreish and the battle system is quick and responsive. Best of all is the ingenious alchemy system which makes crafting feel rich, rewarding, and accessible - even for someone who typically hates crafting in games.
-
Mar 17, 2025Atelier Yumia is a bold step forward for the series, embracing a more expansive open-world structure and a modernized combat system. The alchemy mechanics remain engaging, but the streamlined progression and reduced party interactions may not sit well with longtime fans. Visually, Gust has delivered its most polished Atelier yet, though the art direction leans towards the familiar. While the lower difficulty might divide opinions, the open-world exploration—clearly inspired by gacha-style games—adds a fresh dynamic without impacting core gameplay. If you seek a more action-oriented Atelier with a fresh narrative approach, this entry is worth a look.
-
Mar 24, 2025Atelier Yumia takes a distinctly different direction from previous entries in the Atelier series, aiming for a format closer to that of a traditional JRPG. With a more serious and weighty narrative, real-time action combat, and expanded open-world exploration elements, the game attempts to carve out a new path for the franchise. While there are some shortcomings—such as clunky controls and a lack of clear content guidance—it successfully captures enough charm to appeal to newcomers to the series.
-
Apr 6, 2025Atelier Yumia is a fantastic renovation to an aging series of jrpg games that needed an update, what didn't get an update tho, it seems, is the engine, which at times looks not amazing and the open world tends to not work properly and slows the frames to a crawl.
-
Mar 20, 2025Despite the dumb downed Alchemy and some technical issues, Atelier Yumia marks a great first step towards a new future for this long running series with its fun and rewarding exploration and enjoyable fast paced combat.

May 8, 2025In my humble opinion, Atelier Yumia is the best entry in the series. A very enjoyable JRPG. [Recommended]
