    So the first thing that happened is I needed an Ubisoft account for my ps5 game. When trying to skip it the game wouldn't even work, so a big fu from Ubisoft. Then there's the game play.     I don't understand where all these great reviews are coming from. This is by far the worse Assassin Creed in the entire line-up when it comes to overall gameplay. The story writing is lackluster and extremely boring and it doesn't help that most of the game mechanics from previous titles like Origins and Odyssey that were contreversial litterally got worse in this title than that of theI don't understand where all these great reviews are coming from.     When I'm talking about game mechanics, I'm talking about the RPG looter aspect, combat mechanics, and story progression.

    As a RPG looter, the whole skill tree idea that is utilized in many RPG games is embarrassing in Valhalla. Litterally google the skill tree in this game and be amazed on how bad they ruined the RPG aspect of this game. Additionally, the looting aspect is for some reason scaled back in Valhalla compaired to the previous titles. I litterally played for 20+ hours and found one piece of armor.

    Combat mechanics for some reason in this title took a whole 5 steps backwards. It's clunky and has way too much going on, in addition; it's just so bad compared to the other games. There's barely any stealth aspects in the game.. seriously. You're forced to find "scrolls" all over the world to unlock special skills that you use in combat, where in Odyssey; you would unlock them by progressively leveling up.

    As of the story progression, it''s repetitive and boring. You go spend hours on hours sailing around and riding on your horse looking for places to Raid with your vikings to build your village. Yes, it's cool but it's not cool to do over and over again and then you're forced to do so to move forward in the story. There's no stealth involved when it comes to doing the raids either.. which defeats the whole Assassin Creed aspect.

    The only thing that made the game worth playing was the world in which you play in. It's a pretty, detailed world; I like how the snow would leave tracks when you treked through it. It was definitely nowehre near Red Dead Remdemption 2 however. I have no idea what the developers where thinking with this game this time around. Everything they did in Origins and Odyssey progressive got better with each title and then we come to Valhalla and they litterally ruined it. I would definitely pass up on this game and I'm quite let down with this title that I uninstalled halfway through.    … Expand

    I was in love with the game at first: Somewhere mid-adventure the repeat mechanics became noticeably grindy and seeing the experience boosts sold in game made me wonder, if they created a problem to sell me the solution later. Another thing I started to notice was the many "moral teachings" in the games narrative.     The problem comes from Ubisoft, this company shows games after games that they don’t know how to make games and/or that they employ people with very very very bad design ideas to make their games.     Now, once we have talked about the positive, let’s talk about the negative.

    The environment are good but like I said for RDR2, nowadays, a junior environment artist is capable of creating those so it’s not impressive anymore. Next.

    Sound design is bad, really bad, unacceptable for this level of budget, sound attenuation is not correct most of the time. Music is inexistant or if you prefer, absolutely not epic.

    Music from Hellblade was epic, there is no epicness here. Worse, the music for the skill tree menu is very very very (did I said VERY ?) much similar to the one in the Witcher 3 for the Skellige theme. So Ubisoft, you’ve been trying to copy the Witcher 3 for how many years now without being able to create a game as good as it ? Pathetic.

    The horse and its animations are unacceptable, pure and simple, there are the same as in Odyssey and they were already bad at that time because of the Witcher 3 and RDR2. Now, there is Ghost of Tsushima also to remind Ubisoft how to properly design a horse and its animation.

    The camera is so far away in some combats that I thought I was playing a top down game and not a TPP game anymore. I do want to see my surroundings, but I want to see my character too.

    The combat is hard to read. Because of the camera and also because sometimes of the general mess. Sometimes, you will fight against ennemies with spears that have the same color as the ground so you can’t see them approaching you. What a great idea Ubisoft !

    The person that designed the menu map needs to be fired. When you summon the map, the character won’t be center on the map. When you zoom in or out, it won’t stay on center or on the position you were last, would it be your character or else. Unacceptable.

    Even though you can change it, the general inertia of some keys like tab or A is enraging, especially since you can diminish it but can’t completely get rid of it. Unacceptable.

    The UI is bad, it seems the designers at Ubisoft don’t know **** about tunnel vision that happens when you fight both in real life and in games. Otherwise they would not have put a life bar. Have they noticed how many game replaced the life bar by a desaturation of the screen ? Maybe other did that for a reason ?……

    The stamina mechanic is the worst idea ever, combined with the fact that you just can’t monitor it during combat as it is humanly impossible, you have here a huge source of frustration for hours to come. When you are out of stamina, you can’t do nothing. Great !
    In the Witcher 3, lack of stamina could be overcome by potion and rage. That’s good game design.

    Mysteries Quest are cryptic to say the least, the game won’t tell you what to do, so it’s a matter or whether or not you consider having the patience to fulfill this useless crap. They don’t add anything in term of storytelling.

    Fortress and Raids are…..boring and combat there is a huge mess that is unreadable, I had lost track of Eivor many times there.

    I’ve only succeeded one raid, the first one you do.

    On my second and third attempt, I was one shot by an enemy that was way above my power level.
    In the first zone of the game, the low level zone of the game, in the nearest abbeys of the first one where the first raid took place…..

    Only after I died did the game tell me that these nearby abbeys were power level 90 when I was only 20.
    This is bad design, this is unacceptable, why put such high level zones near the one the player is starting at ? The game shows you a new mechanic but you can’t then use it by yourself as all nearby spot are too high level, this is really really really bad.

    An obese elephant has less inertia than the boat.

    At some point early in the game, you’ll have to kill a NPC, you can choose to tell him the truth about something and spare him or lie to him and kill him.

    There are no reasons whatsoever that forbids you to tell him the truth and then kill him except Ubisoft bad design decision. It’s absurd and immersion breaking.

    For many years, players have complained about the compass. Why can’t Ubisoft just admit its bad and bring back a mini map ? The compass is unreadable.

    The lack of polish of the game shows every time, for instance, when you finish cleaning a place, after a raid or whatever, the place stills shows as forbidden and dangerous and Eivor will still have his voice over telling you to be careful    … Expand

    The worst assassin's Creed I've ever played and arguably the worst game I've ever played. Clunky and boring combat, Eivor is incredibly weak no matter how much you power him up and boss/legendary animal fights just consist of the enemy spamming its special the whole time. Next time I'm definitely not paying full price for an assassin's creed game. I'll wait until it goes on sale

    This is a singleplayer game that you've paid full price to play. It shouldn't require more money, not to buy skins and definitely not to buy boosters.     Valhalla is an unpolished, messy of an AC.
    The sound, still after months after release's still awful. The combat and stealth are the worse we've had on an AC game. The story is god awful, along with the crappy voice acting. It's unfortunately really bad. I love AC series, loved Odyssey, but this one is just trash.
    Don't buy this game, it's not worth. Ubisoft standards are lowering more and more.

    Ubisoft has made the worst game of the year. And the word "game" is a bit overrated. There isn't anything in this game that works. During 90+ hours in-game and I haven't found anything that works in this game. Also performance is crappy as the game crashes multiple times during playing. At least I got this piece of **** free from MSI. I feel sorry for people who had to pay for this game

    I can't understand this high score! It's not an RPG and not an action game. I think this is the worst skill "tree" what I have ever seen, i'ts horrible. The fight system is poor like a wood, and you can't craft. It's just a large open worls walking and farming simulator, with some logical jobs, nothing else. One of the worst AC in the series.

So this is a review of what the Assassin's Creed franchise has become not what it once was. I am going to list what I perceive as being the biggest problems and I will give a solution to all of them.

    1. Controller    I just wasted 120 bucks on Odyssey and Origins. I have a feeling Valhalla is headed in the same direction of regurgitated crap and I am unwilling to waste another 60 bucks. So this is a review of what the Assassin's Creed franchise has become not what it once was. I am going to list what I perceive as being the biggest problems and I will give a solution to all of them.

    1. Controller setup and key mapping. Origins and Odyssey are geared towards console gamers. I was not happy with only 4 melee abilities and 4 ranged abilities. I have over 100 programmable keys and I want access to all of them. Rebinding them was just a big headache.

    Solution: Two complete versions. One for the PC gamers and one for the console gamers. As a PC gamer I am willing to wait longer for a complete version, rather than a port of a console game.

    2. There is a big problem with game play. When playing Origins and Odyssey it feels as if the assassination element is missing. In Origins elite characters needed to be poison them before you can assassinate them. Odyssey required you to hold the assassinate button for five seconds. More often than not this leads to open combat. Open combat means a ton of button smashing. To me this is too easy and too simplistic. I feel like wasted points on the assassination skill tree. If the game was call Warrior's Creed I would not have wasted any points in the assassination skill tree.

    Solution: Be transparent with me. Remove the word assassin from your title. Don't tell me it's about stealth. Completely remove the assassin skill tree.

    An assassin is someone who can kill their target without being detected. In Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood I remember certain quests would fail if you got detected before killing your target. Even in Black Flag certain quests would fail if you get into open combat. Button smashers are easy, boring, and repetitive. What works for one baddie more than likely works for all of them.

    Solution: Stop buying Assassin's Creed games, so I can stop ranting on metacritic.    … Expand

    The first 2-3 hours are good, but then the grinding starts again and the central plot disappears.
    The animation of movement and battles has become worse.

    While yes, each Ubisoft game gets better on a technical level, gameplay wise there is ZERO progression. Valhalla plays exactly the same as Odyssey and Origins. Far Cry 6 plays exactly the same as New Dawn and Far Cry 5. Ubisoft is selling you the exact same game over and over again with    Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be my last Ubisoft game. Ubisoft has reached creative bankruptcy.

    Valhalla has really nothing to do with the original series either anymore. What started as Assassins vs. Templars brought us to Ancient Egypt and Greece and now to the Vikings in England. Stealth kills - the main game mechanic of the original games - are meaningless. You can go in anywhere and just hack & slash your way through armies of enemies. Why call it Assassin's Creed?
    By far the most annoying aspect of the game is when they break immersion and drag you into the present to play as some Layla chick. WHY? I have exactly ZERO interest in this character.    … Expand

I let it download thru the night thinking I will play in the morning on Sunday. Well Uplay starts and says I need a further 106 gb update!!!!!

    It also bugs out routinely and is such a pain!!    Rating it low only because of the terrible terrible Uplay launcher and how Ubisioft treats its PC customers especially. I bought the game on Epic store which said I needed to download 48 GB's. I let it download thru the night thinking I will play in the morning on Sunday. Well Uplay starts and says I need a further 106 gb update!!!!!

    It also bugs out routinely and is such a pain!! Without the Uplay launcher, its a solid 7 at least...    … Expand

    I dislike this game. Played like 2 hours. The combat is just joke when comparing for example with Ghost of Tsushima. AI is completely dumb. The world looks nice, thats all. UBI won't refund my money and I feel like they robbed me! UBISOFT only through pirating! Then maybe in few years for money when the game will cost few bucks!

    I think Ubisoft took 2 steps back with this one. Odyssey is soooo much better in every sense. After 10 hours of play, I went back to play Odyssey just to make sure and yes, Odyssey way better. Graphics are not any better either so very disappointing. One more thing, Ubisoft changed the button mapping on controllers if you using one on PC.     This game is totally dissappointed me! I am a former Assassin's Creed gamer. There is no series I didn't play. Firstly, the gameplay sucks. Why should I use shift for heavy attack? And it can't be changed because it involves 2 key For example I want tome make it Q + left button. There should not be a heavy attack anyway. It should be like in Odyssey. But it mosley like in the Origins.This game is totally dissappointed me! I am a former Assassin's Creed gamer. There is no series I didn't play. Firstly, the gameplay sucks.     I do not recommend this game, very cheap animations, terrible and monotonous combat, the game forces you to pay as donated gear is better than any game one. A bunch of subpoenas, women look like mutants, a lot of bugs. Everything is very drawn-out and boring.

In comparison with Odyssey and Origins Valhalla didn't meet my expectations. The places were mostly dull and felt colourless. The upgrade of skills was hard to accomplish with that complex and massive skill tree, taking hoursbefore its effectiveness can be felt.I really did NOT like the story in this game. It had the typical Assassin's Creed battle animation glitches but this is not an Assassin's Creed. It's good at being a Viking adventure but miserable at being an Assassin's Creed.     Meh... Lost my interest and was a slog to finish. Has beautiful views and good not great gameplay but it's story drags after a bit and I stopped giving a **** about the thousandth viking and their piddly ass problems. The world certainly is not empty but it is boring after doing the same thing over and over and over

    They took everything good from Odyssey and replaced it with something broken, boring or just darn right trash.
    The game is mainly a linear story were your choices main jack ****, the story carry's on the same what ever you do.

I have played through all of the last 4 major AC releases (Unity, Syndicate, Origins, Odyssey) and liked them all.     This is probably my first time buying a Ubisoft game on release date. I kind of liked Origin and Odyssey, but only bought them in less than half price. I am expecting this one would be on pair with them and trying to give some support. What a bad mistake! This one is worse basically in every way.     The audio is ridiculously bad in cutscenes and especially in combats.

    The enemy AI is just brainless. I constantly see most of enemies standing there doing nothing in a large scale battle, and you can basically defeat any enemy by hit and walk away and hit again in hardest settings

    I don't know if Ubisoft can really fix a game that is broken in every aspect. Maybe this is how they have been doing and I never tried their game on the release date. I will stop playing this crap until I see substantial improvements    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This has all the potential of being a good game but it is seriously let down by some high caliber problems.
    1- It simply isn't as good as its predecessor. Odyssey was better in most regards including fighting, ship conflict, style, scaling, characters, story etc.
    2- They have kept that absolute SJW future crap where you totally lose immersion in the actual game by suddenly leaping forward to some irritating American woman wandering about trying to find alien artifacts. I get AC world has this metanarrative woven throughout but I have to be honest, it's a crap narrative and very poorly executed crap at that.
    3- The controls are VERY clunky and unresponsive. In situations where timing is critical, the game totally fails you. I haven't ever become as irritated by a computer game as I have with AC Valhalla... It's worse that Odysseys issues.
    4- The world is filled with treasure but apparently most of them are stupidly hard to get to and require really fiddly little arrow shots or wandering about for 10 minutes until you find a cellar entrance by accident. This is not puzzle solving team, it's just boring crap.
    5- Eivor, the main character, is a nobody who is apparently somebody. He isn't a king, he doesn't have renown, he isn't even a clan chief, he is JUST a warrior. Maybe he is a good one but the character of somebody rolling with the big dogs of the day is nonsense. He is a nobody, he would have not been important enough to become close confidante of the Lothbrocks or kings etc.
    6- In many instances, the Norse and Danes are considered by the game as the defacto good guys. Although I appreciate that Eivor needs to be a good guy in his world, the viking raids and the later Norse/Dane settlers were NOT in anyway good guys. The Saxons, Angles, Celts etc may also have had their dark sides and let's be honest, life in the dark ages was VERY brutal and hard but you cannot in any way write into existence that the fyrd would side with the invaders or that the local people of war torn Mercia would regard the invaders benevolently.
    7- You have once again, like all the post modern age interpretations of faith, shat on Christianity and made paganism that included things like human sacrifice of slaves, legitimised rape and vile actions against Christians because they dared believe something else is just another attack on a Christianity that, regardless of whether you have any faith of any kind now, actually acted as an extremely peaceful and right giving faith. They ensured things like a universal system of laws which made murder wrong and taking a woman against her will illegal. Was it spotless, no of course not but civilisation has somewhat proven that it was a damn site better than the available other options.
    8- The game crashes, regularly. In itself it isn't a huge deal but far out, for a very expensive full price and 'completed' game, it is very trashy.
    9- Silver is useful only for sideline noise stuff like buying a new decoration for your extremely undersized boat. This is dumb. For a leader, jarl, king, lord etc, money was the sinews of war. Vikings particularly ONLY stayed with the man they were sworn to if their leader was a gold giver. Silver and gold should be WAY more critical to success in this game, instead you have put in things like chests full of iron ore and leather (what?) and ingots of metal to be the more important currency. Odyssey did this way better.
    10- Ubisoft have damaged their recent games by being greedy. Making people BUY the game and then trying to sell currency packs or decoration packs etc is absurd. You are becoming dangerously close the EA in your profits first policy. This will be the last Ubisoft game I buy in a very long while, possibly ever.
    11- It is thin. Odyssey felt, rich, vibrant, energised... fun. Valhalla is thin and very easy to put down and stop playing. I doubt I will be able to drag myself across the finish line, what a let down after Odyssey.

    Only first 30min of play was fine, but after moving to England... didn't feel this game. Assassin's looks like pushed to this game so high without any logic. Store inside game it's another disaster... don't understand why they can move this game to another saga...

The first few raids i undertook saw me lose a participant or two as I didn't have enough food-y things to heal them with. However, these became increasingly easy after I discovering that, if I went in alone, slaughtered everything moving, then called a raid, no one was lost and it was a quicker than pissing about with your NPC colleagues getting in the way all the time.

    As in previous games, Ubisoft go out of their way to slow the play down by making your mount annoyingly slow in and around towns. However, this also extended quite a way from towns. Frustrating in and of itself but when the unmounted character can run fast than on a mount, why the f**k should you actually use one? Alas, no talented individual had come up with any (stable) mod that would bypass the startup garbage and the slow horse annoyance.

    The world seems quite large and exploring it was far more rewarding than the actual game content itself.

    Seriously disappointing was the re-introduction of those f**ked up 'chase the pages' things. Thus, I ignored all of those.

    Far beyond everything was the constant crashing. Literally 5-6 times per hour for hours on end. The tedious, tedious, tedious pre-menu crap that one has to endure, including the "this game was made by people, trannies, and the religiously deluded of all descriptions" disclaimer, that cannot be skipped/bypassed made these crashed even more annoying. I used to think that UNITY had the longest startup of all the games but this crashing crapfest took that to new heights (depths)

    Animus glitch twaddle which required platform jumping around to get to a data cache was also boring and I also skipped these after doing 3 or 4 of them.

    Without the Odyssey ability to create several equipment loadouts, there is no incentive to change gear at all. One shoe will fit all.

    Due to the crashing, river raids were certainly pointless as the raid will not count should the game crash while you are still doing one. Getting killed because, all of a sudden, you end up flying through the air across half the map, or getting stuck between your horse and a rock, or a slew of other bizarre glitchy terminations did nothing to enhance the gaming experience.

    There seemed to be little or no consequence of choice for the main plot. One arm cedes leadership AND his woman quite happily to a character with no personality.

    The ending made no logical sense at all: some random assassin from way back when gets mentally stacked inside some simulation and , magically, this causes his mortal form to not age at all. No sustenance required, no pissing, pooping or physical movement at all. Muscle atrophy after 1000 years of inaction would surely have affected a human body.

    ...and how was it that the long-lived Alexios/Cassandra character had no knowledge of any of the Assassin history at all?

    All-in-all, not a thing I would recommend to anyone, and certainly NOT for 120Euro.    … Expand

The climbing is atrocious, I scaled down a mountain with nothing visible to hold on to. It looked like my guy was spiderman. It’s so bad. I miss the fighting of the old AC games, the fighting just doesn’t feel that great. The story is pretty good andThe game just doesn’t feel good. Показав пару CGI-тизеров пару лет назад разработчики ввели в очередной раз всех в заблуждение, выкатив нам на употребление очередной плохо срежиссированный, конвейерный продукт Вы видели графику на простой PS 4 или на Xbox one? А требования системные? Видеокарта за 30 тысяч рублей тянет Origins на "ультра", Valhalla на "низких", а качество графики и технологичность идентичная!!! А видели ли вы то кол-во багов, которое есть в этой игре? А кто "вы" то, я здесь один! Потому что я единственный, кто ставит адекватную оценку игре, которая на ПК стоит всего лишь 2500 рублей, а про консоли я даже говорить не буду, мне жалко этих людей. The ending in the modern day is really interesting, although theres almost no modern day stuff in Valhalla. Now lets start with all that bad stuff... 1. There is    I don´t know why lots of people hype this game. There are just a few things i like about it:

    1. Theres an ability that allows u to assassinate your opponent with a guaranteed one hit if u manage to time it perfectly
    2. The ending in the modern day is really interesting, although theres almost no modern day stuff in Valhalla.

    Now lets start with all that bad stuff...

    1. There is no linear story. You just have to complete every saga (Theres a saga for every area, so way too many) and it feels like you do side-mission like stuff. There are just a few missions where i didnt have the urge to just skip everything. It makes it even worse that you need about 70 hrs to complete every mission wich is doing the same stuff over and over again - worse than odyssey. But the worst thing is, that from the 70 hours playing the campaign you have to ride your horse 20 hrs because lots of missions take you to another location for each step.
    2. Its a game about vikings, not assassins. Origins was about the beginning of the brotherhood, odyssey about the isu. Valhalla was basically just a viking game that could have existed as a non assassins creed game if u would take away a few missions.
    3. BUGS. I dont want to talk about small bugs like people teleporting or getting thrown a mile into the air. I talk about not being able to end the Story because the last mission is bugged and there is no way to restart it. After 100 hrs of playing the game im unable to even finish it, even after years!#
    4. Gameplay. Again, its not Assassins Creed. Yeah, Black Flag had lots of not Assassins Creed like stuff and Edward Kenway was more like a Pirate than an Assassin but at least it had good stealth mechanics. Assassins WERE NOT warriors. The stealth mechanics where so bad i just rushed into the enemies to kill everyone that is in there.

    It´s just so sad. I was not happy with Odyssey and thought it could only get better if they would get back to the core of assassins creed but this game is even less an Assassins Creed than Odyssey was. If u just want to play the game because youre a fan and at least want to know if there is something important that affects future AC Games: Don´t do it, please! Just see what happens in the present day on YouTube and you know basically everything you have to know. This game is the worst thing Ubisoft could do.    … Expand

    Fighting system is a piece of **** It designed by imbecile. When I want to deflect attack my hero always attack and I die. So I hope the person who decided to use the same button for parry and attack already dead from covid or cancer.

    After excelent relaunch of seria with Origins and good Odyssey this "game" is not playable at all. A very poor plot, stupid quests, idiot cut scenes about nothing, the characters are stupid and uninteresting, absolutely do not involve in the gameplay. The game is not impressive with anything new and it is not interesting to play it. The battle scheme is the same as in Odyssey.     Feels like a step back from odyssey. Vikings are a fun idea but a less interesting protagonist, awkward janky dialogue/scenes and the world feels a lot more boring compared to odyssey.

    Miss searching for mercenaries to hunt to complete an armour set or get a new weapon. Days of play in valhalla and I've only found two armour pieces. Sailing has only gone downhill since black flag but    Feels like a step back from odyssey.     Whenever I start loving this game, it's faults hurts me like an axe to the face.

    This is everything I wanted from an Assassin's Creed viking game, and contains a lot of things i love in games. Large skill trees where I can put points, Base that can be built and upgraded, and running around doing tasks as I explore the open world. It's nothing new from the core gameplay of Origins or    Whenever I start loving this game, it's faults hurts me like an axe to the face.

    This is everything I wanted from an Assassin's Creed viking game, and contains a lot of things i love in games. Large skill trees where I can put points, Base that can be built and upgraded, and running around doing tasks as I explore the open world.
    It's nothing new from the core gameplay of Origins or Odyssey, except for a new twist on a few mechanics. And if you didn't like those games, then this won't be any change to that.

    So far I have completed two first areas in England, in terms of collecting and story. The game so far is great in terms of world building, great sound design, and I find the story both fun and engaging, it's what I expect from an Assassin's Creed game, and a bit more. Sadly all this greatness disappears behind bugs and bad game design.

    The new combat feature that Valhalla brings is stamina. A system that is supposed to bring more excitement and challenge to combat, but instead reveals all the flaws the system has. Compared to Origins and Odyssey if the enemy AI or combat bugged out you could always dodge back, and try again without being punished. With the Stamina system this feels extra punishing and unfair as a player. They have however tried to fix the issue where dodging was far superior to parry by having a stun bar that is chipped away when you parry certain attacks.
    On that note, these attacks are color telegraphed, something that is nice, except for the seemingly different amounts of time before the attack lands and that if you parry to soon, as a response, you fail and take damage. Have you first suffered a blow you get staggered and are having a hard time getting out unless you spend some stamina getting out, something it seems the AI does not have to do as they can get out of the stagger with relative ease, turning the player from a fierce viking to a cautious warrior.

    The other thing that makes this game frustrating beyond the gates of hell is the wall climb. Something I never gave a second thought in Odyssey, maybe because it worked or because those times it failed I knew I wouldn't die. In Valhalla the story takes a different turn, and not the turn many of us wanted. The wall climb is bad and buggy in most scenarios, with the character jumping to the wrong ledge or jumping off instead of up.

    On the side of gameplay, there are some terrible design choices made through the game in terms of level design. On the bright side, there are some good there, as one should expect from this type of game.

    The accessibility features of the game is amazing, and it starts out by giving you a lot of options so you can tailor the game to your needs, be it color options, text to speech or simply removing any nudity or gore.

    In the end Assassins Creed Valhalla is an amazing game, it tries to deliver what it promises, but the many bugs turn this experience into a sour one. It should have spent a couple of more months being polished.
    And if you are thinking of buying the game note this. It's the same gameplay loop as Odyssey and Origins. As of November 2020 it's buggy, if the bugs aren't being fixed, buy it at a sale. If you don't like the gameplay loop, don't waste your money.    … Expand

    Its just total BS! Combat is just pathetically easy, even on the hard difficultly. Really miss the days when AC you would be worried if you had 4 enemy's in front of you, it would actually be a challenge! In this its just a piss easy slaughter.     If you love looking at Ubisoft's loading screen, this is the game for you! I played a couple of hours of this game and really enjoyed it. Then, went to bed. The next morning when I went to go play again, I couldn't get past the loading screen. Nothing changed, nothing updated. It just decided to stop working. I tried everything from rebooting, closing background apps, re-installing, etc.If you love looking at Ubisoft's loading screen, this is the game for you! I played a couple of hours of this game and really enjoyed it. Then, went to bed. The next morning when I went to go play again, I couldn't get past the loading screen. Nothing changed, nothing updated. It just decided to stop working.     Played the game for 3 hours no problem. Close the game go to sleep (turn off computer, no updates), now it will stay stuck at launch screen. Tried another computer same thing, opens then won't. Think about it like this surprise gift... might work, might not after 70 hours. Literally no support from the developers.

    Change appearance system is horrible, how could them change from a perfect system like in Odissey to this? You not only have to pay for it but its expensive, in only one place and after a irritating menu wall.
    The graphics are the same as in Odissey with negletable improving in some areas but England is so much uglyer than Greece i feel depressed after playing a few hours.
    The map is terrible to walk around, irritating stone fences everywhere, beautiful landscapes are scarce, they probably fired the photography guy when they finished Origins... But even Odyssey has better mapping.
    Well but there are good things, the system where u have to cloak yourself in some places and mingle with the locals.
    The instant assassination option in the menu is a plus.
    Fishing option is good but must be flawless, after you fish in RDR2 you cant fish anywhere anymore.
    Also the option to use many different weapon combinations (but with less different strike options).
    But they also got rid of good systems like marking enemy's with ur bird (like wtf?) and other cool things.
    The skill tree is also boring with boring +x status abilities and other things not worthing your time to open the menu and get.
    The flawless difficulty system from Odyssey where u could make all enemys your lvl and adjust separately the combat dificulty and assassination are gone...
    The quests also look less interesting than in Odyssey (they feel more childish).    … Expand

    I have this game a three because it was a great game. Very entertaining, big world, it was good. BUT. There is enough gay bs to leave a stained impression. I’m probably 90% finished with the game, and it may just be a coincidence how I chose to complete the stories, but it seems that the gay stuff is getting more and more frequent.     This game does not deserve the score it has. Audio is very poorly compressed and even though soundtrack is very good they didn't use them much idk why. Dialogues are so badly written everything feels like rushed. Characters aren't interesting not even Eivor's because they filled the game with unnecessary alliance grinding. Mid game is so boring idk how im gonna finish this.

However, because I like the Ubisoft games, I gonna Try. Hope, somebody who make decisions at least heard about this.

    The worst Assassin’s Creed Ever. I used to love Ubisoft historic games. I’ve played all Prince of Persia series and the majority of AC. However, I have to admit that it’s becoming worse and worse every new one.
    We are already used to the bugs in the game, I’m ok with it. The problem is that you are changing important games characteristics.
    First, RPG wasn’t a good idea, the game become less fluid and we have only three options: pay, reduce level or expend time in side quests and resources searches, even if we just want to enjoy the story. I suggest a new mode without levels.
    Second, the main character, Eivor is perhaps the weaker, slower and boring of all. Enemies always attack him first, even on the light attack, and you have only three moviments to divide your small energy between evade and attack. I imagine a fight between him and Kenway or Arno. It become the game so boring and annoying that I almost loose my patient.
    Third, health are so scarce that you die many times without any chance to react. I strongly prefer autohealing after run.
    Minors problems like you several times attack in directions you don’t want, you can’t climb everywhere and your claw its not so funny. I still miss a game where you have to think to solve puzzles like Prince of Persia anyway. At least, we don’t have to spend time out animus or forced to kill templars if we don’t want.
    When AC Black Flag was release I taught we are going to have bests games ever. Amazing, Ships fights, dynamic fights and character. But looks like you lost your way along the way. Sad.
    Maybe I’m not the games public you wan’t perhaps. Anyway, Nowadays, that’s is how I feel it today.    … Expand

    The amount of bugs in this game is crazy. I have to restart it at least once every 2 hours because of how often it freezes but I pushed through and conquered all but one of the regions. Now my game soft locked after spending 40 hours and I won't even get to see the ending myself.

    Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a great-looking open-world game with impressive landscapes and cinematography. However, the checklist collectible open-world still needs some work to feel truly engaging, and combat is too tedious and too frequent to be compelling. As a lapsed fan of Assassin's Creed trying to see if I can click with the series once again, Valhalla didn't quite hook me as I was hoping it would.

    Assassins Creed Valhalla is a lot of fun and easy to sink dozens of hours into. It is the best entry in the more recent trilogy and genuinely elevates the gameplay mechanics. Content could be considered somewhat bloated still, but it is diverse enough and the setting and story is solid most of the way through.

    Sneaking is fun, fighting is fun, walking through the great outdoors is so much fun. Sightseeing too! Valhalla is free minded and could be innovative, but lacks skills to persuade its players about that. [Issue#308]
