This is a much more personal story than chronicles china, making it far more skippable and unimportant however this game does take care of some issues of the previous game in this trilogy.
Chronicles India is about 7 hours long which made it a longer experience than chronicles china, but not necessarily a more enjoyable one.
Here your goal is to get through each of this games chapters section by section.
Each starts with a cutscene of still images, and youre thrown into the world and your goal is to either kill everyone with combat or stealth, or sneak through unseen…
And unless you don’t care about upgrades you have no other choice as youre graded at the end and earn points..
The game takes away gameplay freedom by forcing you to stick to one play style and one play style only in each section if you want more health, a larger helix bar, or to carry more consumable items…
These sections are far more enjoyable to get through than chrinicles china were for example though..
Much less frustrating, much less trial and error…
I felt more free form, understanding what to do instantly.
All of the same mechanics are here of dashing through hiding spots, filling a meter to make you unstable for a limited time or able to dash through hiding spots unseen, but the tools are different.. here youre still able to whistle or throwobjects to make sound and distract, but different is the ability to throw an item to cut ropes which in rare cases allows you the opportunity to drop objects on enemies heads, and smoke bombs which are useful for getting past annoying patrol…
Chronicles india is much less focused on combat this time as well..
Every level is set up for you to find assassination opportunities, as certain enemies can only be taken out with ledge kills for example…
you have to time patrol pattern, make sure no one else is around during mandatory clear the room missions…
I had more fun strategizing here… reminding me of the arkham games predator challenges at times
but if things do resort to combat this game just falls apart..
What the chronicles games do poorly that the main games nail is the idea that your character is proficient in both combat and stealth.. here youre dead in one to two hits..
you can dodge bullets, and parry, but a lot of the time it isn’t going to matter.. there are too many enemies to dealth with and it becomes overwhelming… combat just isn’t fun and its needlessly difficult…
id much rather this game be stealth focused and make you lose points if youre detected, but being detected not being an issue.. you can still fight your way out.. you just don’t get the upgrades at the end of the level.. but that’s not how it works..
youre punished by having to redo sections all over again…
Like chronicles china this game shines when it focuess on platforming and chases…
its thrilling at times to be running, sliding and slaying fools while an elephant chases you, or hopping from building to building or from cube to cube, dodging death rays in eden temples..
I said it before and Ill say it again…
These would be great games if they were just 5 hours of that…running and platforming…
or even if it were primarily that and you did the stealth bits on occasion
but the way it is now with the endless stealth sections and griding makes these games ultimately feel like a frustrating unfun chore…
And with a poor story unlike chinas, its one hardly worth getting through.
I give Assassins Creed Chronicles India
    a 6/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a smaller Assassin' s Creed platformer, second entry in Assassin' s Creed chronicles trilogy. It's set in 19th century India, you play as Arbaaz Mir. The game does not bring anything new and revolutionary to the genre but it's a good platformer. The reason i rated it 8 is because the controls at certain situations. The game has a nice mechanics and maps (levels) take time to finish especially if you want the non lethal way. If you are fan of Assassin's Creed serial i recommend you to play this game. Looking at current game prices this game has a good price and it's really worth it. Expand

Don't buy this broken and cheap action game with no creativity. Please save your money and do not buy Ubisoft's AC games. There are better 2D games that do proper stealth like Mark of the Ninja.

I vividly remember the first time I played Assassin's Creed and I loved the mechanics of stealth and platforming.
About AC:Chronicles India I can say that its a nice fork of Assassin's Creed series. It focuses purely on stealth and platforming. The reason I gave it 10 is I just loved the fluidity. Yes, there are some really great games in market who cater to same gener but why I loved it

but the story and character progression is worth being called terrible.meaningless mentor(Hamid),a lonely assassin(Arbaaz) who's the savior of an artifact throughout the game(but looks a little mentally tired from the start till the princess gets into trouble!),imaginary assassins who are just appeared in the dialogues not in action, and a princess(like most of the "POP" series) who got nothing to do with the assassin but making trouble for him.

Does not provide the entertaining ability to save progress during missions. Which means its entertainment value is a big fat ZERO.

Honestly, I was very surprised by the low ratings of the chronicles trilogy. Yes, this is not a full-fledged Assassin, ay-ay-ay how to live now? ...But still it is a very colorful and interesting platformer. Even the last about the communists, though it was worse than about India and China.

In AC: Chronicles India, I had great expectations for the art presented, still in a "designed" style but with more colors and etc. However, the game is extremely short (1 ~ 2 hours less than the others in the series, which are no longer as big). довольно неплохой платформер для фаната ассасинов, но что-то в нём не так, потому что после каждой главы ты его выключаешь, потому что ты, как будто выжат и устал... В общем душно

While the platform gameplay still integrates well with the Assassin's Creed universe, and India serves as a decent setting for the game, the overall narrative and main character lack the captivating charm of Shao Jun.

The assassin-feeling gameplay remains a strong aspect of the game, delivering a high-quality and satisfying experience, from stealthy kills to immersive stealth mechanics. However, the story and main characters fail to live up to the intrigue and depth found in the first game, at least in my opinion. The narrative lacks the same level of interest and engagement, leaving the player less invested in the events unfolding.

A nice addition is the challenge maps, which are really fun, although frustrating at times.

Similar to its predecessor, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India offers 18 achievements to earn, yet disappointingly, they are not implemented on Steam. This absence is disheartening for completionists aiming to showcase their progress to others. As with the previous game, achievements are only visible for you on Ubisoft Connect, but not accessible to other players. Furthermore, in-game notifications for unlocking achievements are missing, irrespective of the Ubisoft Connect overlay and notification settings.

In summary, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India does not surpass its predecessor and struggles to deliver a compelling story and memorable main character compared to Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China. Despite this, the game's platform gameplay retains its high quality and provides a satisfying experience for fans of the franchise. If you enjoyed the gameplay of the first installment and are looking for another Assassin's Creed adventure, it is worth giving Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India a try, though with tempered expectations for its storytelling aspects.

It’s almost as if we’re watching Prince of Persia evolution again. Just a bit more, and we’ll see a fully 3D Assassin’s Creed, where our hero will finally be able to climb any roof he wants. Oh, wait… [Issue#206, p.68]

The second chapter of the Chronicles series will provide you with several hours of fun, albeit with slightly repetitive gameplay. A bit more polished than the China chapter, but still nowhere near the old Assassin's Creed glory.
