It's only been a year since Assassin's Creed 2, so you would be forgiven if you thought Assassin's Creed Brotherhood would feel more like a stopgap than a full follow-up. This game continues where Assassin's Creed 2 left off, with the same main protagonist, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, in the 15-16th Century. The game is not as good as the prequel but it comes very close. Assassin's CreedIt's only been a year since Assassin's Creed 2, so you would be forgiven if you thought Assassin's Creed Brotherhood would feel more like a stopgap than a full follow-up. This game continues where Assassin's Creed 2 left off, with the same main protagonist, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, in the 15-16th Century. The game is not as good as the prequel but it comes very close. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood has plenty of things for you to do, the graphics improved, and there are new mechanics that will surprise you. Many of the mechanics are forced but somehow fit in throughout the game. The events in Brotherhood have many meaningful memories since the prequel. If you played Assassin's Creed 2, you would know Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the young ladies man, turned deadly assassin. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood starts exactly where the previous game left off. Ezio's nemesis, Cesare Borgia obtained the powerful Apple of Eden. Lucrezia Borgia is the only new character and she is an important one. She is charismatic and a beautiful women and has a very odd relationship with her brother Cesare. The highlight of Ezio's tales are in the small touches and side missions. A series of flashbacks are sentimental and are a good reminder of Ezio's younger days. Claudia Auditore also takes on a leading position in this game. Overall it's good to see some female characters with presence. The main plot falls flat, since it does not reveal much we did not already know. On the other hand, there is the parallel story of Desmond Miles, a bartender whose ancestor’s memories you are visiting. The player gets to spend plenty of time with Desmond. If you thought Assassin's Creed 2's ending was a shocker just wait until this one. You spend most of your times as Ezio and you might miss having multiple cities to explore, but do not worry that Rome will feel confined. Rome is a huge place, it's gorgeous and there is a ton of stuff for you to do. A standard gameplay should easily take as much time as Assassin's Creed 2 did. The basics remain the same. You run across the city on rooftops, get some swordplay with some guards, you climb towers so you can get bearing on your surroundings and then leap off of them. You blend with citizens to tail your target and all of these things are as fun as ever. Almost everything received some kind of enhancement. On the combat side, you can kick your foes so you can catch them off guard before you sink your sword into them. It's a useful feature as well since enemies don't always wait around to attack you now. It isn't as much more challenging though, since you can now put together one stab kills which sheds plenty of blood. Some of those towers you climb must be set on fire. In order to do that, you need to assassinate an officer in advance. Prowling is easier now since you can find a horse almost anywhere. The economy means even more now too, since you must purchase buildings like tailors and blacksmith shops before you gain access to vendors. You even buy famous landmarks. There are a lot of improvements and changes for the better of the series. The biggest improvement is now you can recruit Assassin's. Remember the citizens being harassed in Assassin's Creed 1? They are back but now when you save them, they will join your cause. From there you send them off to missions on a menu interface. They level up, and eventually they become full-fledged assassins. You can call them in battle and then jump out of nearby haystacks or riding on a horse and do some of your dirty work for you. In the end though, this addition feels more than a bit contrived. The game leads you to believe that recruiting these assassins has some kind of overall purpose, but the whole thing feels pointless. The combat is so easy enough that you might even forget you can call on your brothers, and once you reach the end of the game, you discover that all that time you spent on training and recruiting doesn't really culminate really anything important. Luckily there are plenty of other features that help pick up the slack. Leonardo da Vinci is back, and some quests related to his role are beyond what you may have expected. Tombs have been replaced by lairs owned the Followers of Romulus. They provide some plat forming sequences. Not all missions are awesome. Ones that require stealth can sometimes fall flat. Overall there is a ton of variety and enough gameplay surprises to keep you guessing, so the cons of the game are just blimps on the radar. Finally Assassin's Creed Brotherhood added a multiplayer and it is quite interesting. You're assigned to a target to assassinate while someone else wants to attempt to assassinate you. You are surrounded by A.I.'s going about their own business. You need to blend with the crowd preferably people who look exactly just like you so you can prep up your pursuer. At the same time, you need to follow your radar to get the general vicinity and keep your eyes open to suspicious activity. It's not action-packed but it can get really tense. You might jump onto your target and kill him or her only to have your own pursuer plunge a dagger in your throat or you might get chased along rooftops only to lose your assassination contract because your target escapes. More silent kill’s means more points so just because you got the best kill ratio doesn't mean you are going to win. As you play, you earn handsome skills like being able to temporarily disguise yourself or using eagle vision to find your victim. It's wonderful improvement for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for players who want something a little different. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is gorgeous to look at. It oozes details everywhere, from the interior of palaces, to the famous coliseum. I did run into several occasions in which you fell through the geometry and were swimming in water many stories below the city. These and a few other features make Assassin's Creed Brotherhood seem a tiny bit sloppier than the first two games but overall it's still a visual stunner. It's not that better than Assassin's Creed 2 was. However it is shocking just how big Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is and somehow all manages to add vital and polishing new mechanics and a lot of great missions. A new multiplayer mode and you have a game that does anything but rest on its morals. Not every new addition it does is a step into the right direction but Assassin's Creed Brotherhood doesn't coast. Instead it's yet another reason to take that leap of faith. Remember, "Nothing is true... Everything is permitted". "La shai wak'ion motlaq bal kollon momken". I would give this game a rating of 96 out of 100. Expand

In certain ways, this game has a lot of similarities to the over-hyped The Witcher III recently released. However, I'm still tidying up every last side mission in Brotherhood with enthusiasm, something TW3 failed miserably to deliver on.

Brotherhood had so many strong points that I kept telling myself that I would never remember how many cool things it offered.

    * An amazing rendition of Renaissance Rome.
    * Great voice acting. I also include here the variety of herald speeches, shop owner comments, and ordinary people speak.
    * Diverse and unique quests.
    * Cut scenes that were incredibly well-placed.
    * Fantastic incorporation of historic material.
    * Memorable characters, Authorities that were truly petty, city inhabitants were awesome as well.
    * A sense of purpose
    * Fantastic interaction with the environment. Not only your ability to scale most everything but blending in with crowds, remaking stores, etc.

Never has a game made my stomach drop so frequently. It made an instant AC fan out of this gamer.

Like Assassin's creed 2, brotherhood is an upgrade from the last one. Now you have a assassins group, and the entire Roma to explore. Is good, but only this.

The twin stories of Ezio and Desmond are some of the most effective in the Ezio trilogy. Marred by some poor keyboard platforming controls and bad implementation of v-sync, but there is full controller support. If you’ve enjoyed other Assassin’s Creed games, this is a must-own.
    Uplay is required.
Total size on my hard drive: 11GB

Note: If you are new to Assassin’s Creed games and wondering where to start, I’d recommend Assassin’s Creed II, not Brotherhood.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood picks up right where Assassin’s Creed II left off: Ezio is in Rome, having just fought the previous game’s final boss, and Desmond et. al. are on the run after having their hideout crashed by Abstergo. Having completed the battle in Rome, Ezio returns to Monteriggioni to have sexy times with Catarina Sforza, only to have the idyll interrupted by Cesare Borgia laying siege to the fortress. After it falls, Ezio and his family flee to Rome, determined to destroy the Borgia’s near-complete control of the city’s districts, and rebuild the Assassins (and Rome) in the process. Several popular characters return; Catarina as previously mentioned, Leonardo, Claudia and Maria Auditore, and Machiavelli. Rodrigo Borgia has a few brief scenes as well, but the primary antagonist is Rodrigo’s son, Cesare.

Now, instead of only upgrading your headquarters, Ezio is buying and refurbishing shops (and landmarks) all over Rome. Completing all the “Sons of Romulus” lairs unlocks a special dagger and armor. Completing memories with full synchronization unlocks hidden (“repressed”) Ezio memories of Cristina Vespucci’s fate. Leonardo is a minor character in the main game, but gets an entire DLC to himself (which is included). The Copernicus DLC is also included in the game files, but isn’t accessible to PC players without a mod (search the Steam forums). Add in the huge amount of loot found throughout the game which is used to unlock unique items at shops, the Animus “training mode” which is an arcade for honing your combat skills, and there is a wealth of content in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.

The combat is the largest improvement to Brotherhood over the previous games. The addition of the chain-kill mechanic allows for the rapid dispatch of hordes of enemies. Combat in general flows quicker and smoother in the hands of a skilled player. A strange step backward, though, is the inability to use secondary weapons (like the pistol or crossbow) without selecting them in the weapon wheel first. Also, if you have a secondary weapon selected, doing a hand-focused act – like tearing down wanted posters – switches the weapon selection to unarmed. And the platforming was clearly designed for a controller. It’s doable with a keyboard and mouse, but not always intuitive. Expect Ezio to occasionally leap to his death without explanation.

The graphics are among the best of the earlier Assassin’s Creed games (Revelations’ are better, but are also much more demanding). Maxing Brotherhood’s graphics settings and hitting 120fps at 1080p proved an easy task (I have an R7 260X graphics card). Texture quality, detail, light, and reflections are the biggest advances over Assassin’s Creed II. Brotherhood is marred, however, by the poor implementation of vertical-sync: turning it on results in horrific frame-rate micro-stutter. There doesn’t seem to be a fix, other than not turning v-sync on. Setting v-sync on in the Radeon Crimson settings didn’t help, either.

These are small drawbacks, though. With swift and deadly combat, tons of things to do, and great stories, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is a fantastic second part of the “Ezio trilogy” of games. A superb sequel and a great game in its own right. It discounts quite low, too, so if you’re a fan of Ezio or Assassin’s Creed in general, there is no reason not to get it.

There is a lot of running around, repetition, and predictability, but the story and large map is good enough to keep you engaged and interested, and doesn't feel particularly boring to play through. Fast travel and horse travel significantly helps reduce the amount of time you have to spend moving around.

The game as a whole feels somewhat easy and you can ignore a lot of the optional mechanics in the game like buying upgrades, investing, assassin contracts, and so on since they don't particularly affect the main story. Unfortunately, the requirements to fully synchronize certain missions is incredibly unbalanced, meaning that certain missions will be too long or too tedious to fully synchronize and are just not worth the trouble to bother with.

Overall, I'm giving the game an 8/10 mainly because of the story and how the game isn't a chore to play. In some instances I do quit to stop for the night because I get bored of errand running, but you're not supposed to speed run this game anyway. The game might realistically sport a 7/10, but keeping in mind that it was released in 2011, since games were more primitive back then, I loosened up my expectations a bit.

I think my only real disappointment with the game is probably with The Truth. It was amazing in AC2 because you could actually watch an interesting cutscene, but that wasn't in this game. There was no point whatsoever with the ending. It was a genuine waste of my time and was completely underwhelming.

Ezio's character. his charm, his smack talk immediately drew me into the game. The amazing Roma Atmosphere and architecture was so breathtaking when i climbed my very first viewpoint sync that I cannot help but be a little biased in my review.
I became crazy repairing the architecture around the entire map, it made me set aside hours dedicated to just stealing money from the local populace and guards so that i could rebuild the city for them, It had an amazing Robin Hood feel.
As for the technical. The free run/climbing mechanic which is now a staple may have put others who played previous games off, but for me it was such a novelty I immediately fell in love with everything this game had to offer.
The story was satisfyingly well executed, Though abruptly starting a continued story line from ACBrotherhood was a bit jarring for me personally when the climax rolled around, but never the less made me more than interested to know what the Lore was behind The Apple, Ezio/Desomnd, Templar's/Assassin's, It was compellingly written.
It was one of the most pleasant and enjoyable game experiences of my lifetime.

I always liked the split story, One second you are in ancient Rome, the other you are doing parkour around modern day Italy. The only problem I sort of have with this game is that the dialouge during battles repeats itself quite often, but that doesn't get in the way of how great this game is, also I have yet to see a game which offers this level of fluidity in combat.

Now we have a sequel to the sequel and the situation is next: as much as AC2 ended up to be an improvement of the first installment as much AC:Brotherhood ended up to NOT be an improvement of the second installment, which is not as bad as it could look at first glance - the thing is AC2 was too good and there simply wasn't much you could do to improve BUT! Beside addictive fighting, parkour mechanics, gorgeous music and mind-blowing level of city detalization AC2 has something not less important - a great story. Unfortunately Brotherhood lacks this aspect of AC2 - the story simply doesn't have the same scope and feels more like a filler than anything else. On the other hand the side-quests were interesting enough to convince me to keep completing them one after another.
Overall, it is still good old AC2 with imroved game mechanichs and even more mind-blowing detalization level of the city with which you fall in love at first glance and to which you want to come back time and time again (it is not surprising, considering the fact we are talking about Rome here - maybe the perfect setting for Ezio Auditore to find himself in).

After all, I'm leaning towards the second part, even though I understand why the people of Brotherhood love so much. The story follows right where the second part ended, so the game continues beautifully. Of course, the legendary Ezio must not be missing, who has already shone in the previous work and has perhaps experienced its peak here. What surprised me was the graphics. I really couldn't believe my eyes. Maybe I'm crazy and today the game probably won't impress you too much, but in that year 2010 it was just over, in my opinion. Simply beautiful. What will also please the PC player very nicely is the control, which in pairs was done primarily on the gamepad, but here the keyboard game can be played without any problems, so if you are a keen PC player who loathes the word gamepad, Ubisoft will please you here. As I mentioned, the story follows the second part, which had a damn luxurious story, especially, we compare it with the first part. Here again, Ubisoft did not disappoint and again I have to laugh at the successful story and especially at the negative Cesar, who was simply phenomenal in the AC series. OK. Probably a replay, but I really liked it. I praised the graphics, the story and what the main thing is? What about gameplay? How is the game played? I can assure you that quite like two and even several times better, so you don't have to worry about gameplay. What makes the various passages much easier for you, for example, is the crossbow that the developers have added here. Great toy. In addition, Ubisoft again offers a beautiful environment of Italy, this time specifically Rome. I'll get to that. What I praised in the second AC was that the developers finally gave us some kind of currency in the game, thanks to which we can spend and thus buy various things. Here you can buy almost the same as in a couple, except that you can spend money on renovations, which I take as a perfect novelty. In the game you can renovate the whole of Rome. You can then go to collect earnings. At a later stage of the game, a great way to make money. What I also praised in pairs and here it is no different are the side missions, which are even better. What I especially enjoyed were the flashbacks that took us back to Florence or I really liked the Romulus missions, which if you complete them all, you get the Romulus Armor, which just looks gorgeous and I haven't seen a nicer Assassin suit. Of course, a wonderful soundtrack plays into all of this, which may not surpass that of the two, but the **** is still great. Brotherhood could have been the best part of the series for me as well, but unfortunately one thing bothered me all the time was that although Rome is beautiful and has its Italian atmosphere and Leonardo Da Vinci will return to us here, most of the game takes place in Rome. The city is beautiful, but in the second part we had Florence, so other different locations and overall the second part was a bit more extensive than Brotherhood. I'm not saying it's a negative minus, because Rome is big enough, we can still renovate it, so we have something to do in it and we will return to Florence thanks to flashbacks, which, if I'm not mistaken, are like side missions and are not part of the main story. Despite that, I just think it's a pity that we couldn't return to Florence normally in the full beauty of Brotherhood's new graphics. Otherwise, for me, an amazing game that I recommend. Expand

    Cool implementaion.

    - The story is engaging. Ties between modern day and the past are brilliantly written.

    - Characters are very interesting. Especially the ones from ACII.

    - Combat has improved slightly, but with some glitches.

    - Multi-player

    - The four modern day assassin's have more interesting character compared to ACII.

    Cons:

    - The lack of measurement shown for the player between Ezio and the destination on the mini-map makes it difficult to decide whether to take a horse or run. The cities are enormous and sometimes it is better to take a horse.

    - There are a lot more stealth and undercover missions. Which can be quite punishing if you are the impatient type.

    - There are glitches in some parts. Inability to move, short freezes.

Playing this game makes you feel like you are actually living in Rome, the crowd is reactive and the game captures the essence and landmarks of the city beautifully. The game is filled to the brim with guild missions and assassination contracts. The flashback missions set in Florence show what happened to the love story of Ezio and Christina which is a tear-jerker. You can now recruit people and make them Assassins by sending them on missions or calling them for help whenever needed. Leonardo has 5 missions on destroying war machines that are like super-weapons for that era, these missions are tough and you need to plan your way into compounds without getting noticed. AAssassin's Creed: Brotherhood's removal of multiplayer and all DLCs is a major letdown for players. It's particularly frustrating that even those who have previously purchased the content can no longer access it. While it is understandable for multiplayer servers to get taken down after a while, it is unacceptable to revoke access to singleplayer content already bought by the players. A black spot on Ubisoft's already dirty image. Worst of all, it sets a concerning precedent for other games in the future, causing players to worry about losing access to content they have legitimately acquired.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is a remarkable addition to the series, building on the foundation laid by its predecessor, Assassin's Creed II. While some may view it as an expansion, the game's upgrades and new gameplay elements make it a worthy standalone experience. The story takes a different direction, offering a more mature Ezio who truly embodies the role of an assassin. Personal preferences may vary, but both narratives hold their own charm.

One standout aspect of the game is the progression in Desmond's present-day storyline, which adds depth and excitement to the overall experience.

Gameplay remains consistent with its predecessor, but the improvements are evident. The introduction of assistance from fellow assassins adds an impressive and visually appealing dimension to combat, though it might make battles feel a bit easier. The crossbow also serves as a powerful tool, potentially making stealth and combat too simplistic when combined with the help of assassins.

Parkour and movement mechanics retain the greatness of Assassin's Creed II, allowing players to navigate the beautifully designed environment of Rome with ease.

However, the overwhelming feeling when opening the map is a notable downside. Instead of a gradual progression, players are bombarded with information from the start, which could deter some from immersing themselves fully in the game.

The inclusion of flags is a nostalgic nice touch, but the new feature of buying and upgrading buildings feels somewhat out of place. While it aligns with the storyline and the concept of Ezio restoring Rome, it lacks a clear purpose beyond providing a sense of progression.

The multiplayer component is no longer relevant due to the shutdown of the servers. Additionally, some technical issues with the gamepad inputs prevented a proper evaluation of the multiplayer experience.

One substantial disappointment is the lack of Steam achievements despite the game featuring a big list of them. It's unfortunate that players who earn these achievements won't be able to showcase them on the Steam platform. They can be seen only in the in-game options menu.

Overall, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is a commendable addition to the franchise, offering a great follow-up with improved gameplay and an engaging continuation of Ezio's storyline.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is a good game from Ubisoft. I love this game more than AC2.

-Terrible climbing controls. I was losing my mind.

provavelmente um dos melhores jogos da era Ezio. envelheceu muito bem e continua um ótimo jogo até hoje para quem deseja rejogar. no PC o gráfico fica melhor ainda do que nos consoles.

While it is the best game in the Ezio trilogy, it is also the best game in the series. In this game, there are innovations compared to the previous games. Also, the story is not boring and the gameplay is not difficult like the previous games.

Just text (crutch) to save the game to the list. Such things. Maybe I'll do a review later.

Polished conversion of the console version cannot be labeled as an add-on. This is an excellent full-featured game with interesting multiplayer mode. Period. [Issue#203]

Built on the shoulders of Assassin's Creed II, Brotherhood is the most polished and robust execution of the Assassin's Creed formula yet.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood isn't as much a sequel as a completion to the second game, and while this is certainly the best game of the three so far, you probably don't want to jump into the story without having played at least the second game first.
