    Absolutely terrible game clear bugs that just could not have been missed are there immediately. There are no difficulty settings, no online play and terrible performance issues. The controls and gameplay are a huge step back on previous games, and there are nearly no redeeming features. Avoid.

    The worst game of all time, period. Absolutely destroys the notion of Cricket being a fun sport to play at home on PC. Complete lack of the understanding of the fundamentals of the sport, along with massive glitches making the game often unplayable and hilarious. AI is about as intuitive as a blind meercat, resulting in comedy scenarios of which, there are now plenty on YouTube to enjoy.The worst game of all time, period.     I cannot understand how anybody in their right mind would allow this to go through, this game is an absolute basket case, and a shoe-in for the worst game of 2013. It seems like a lazy cash grab thrown together at the last minute without any due care or attention for the nuances of cricket, or even gaming in general. There are flash games on the internet that are miles better than this garbage, yes, I mean it, it is that bad.

    505 Games, you've let gaming down, you've let cricket down,you have let all the legends of Ashes series past down, but worst of all, you've shown absolutely no care or respect to one of the greatest sporting events in the world.

    We knew this game was gonna suck, but it is just amazing how bad it is. It's like a pre-alpha game released to the public. Absolutely pathetic. The worst game I've ever played.

I went with the hope that Codemasters would have tweaked this game in all aspects given the time delay from June. To my dismay, they didn't. What you see is a game that would put Stick Cricket on FB to shame. The game looks much worse than EA's Cricket 97. The graphics, gameplay and sound etcI preordered this game day before yesterday and I can summarize by saying this game sucks balls.     This is a train, plane, ship, and car crash all in one. Avoid like the plague!
    Fielding is automatic, as in automatically stuffed you can get 100+ runs off one ball if you hit the ball slow enough! Vote this to be the worst game EVER!

    I have played this game and trust me the game lags even on i5 Intel Processor with 8 GB RAM and 1 GB Graphic Card, as far as the gameplay goes i am very very disappointed with the game, worst graphics, worst gameplay.......!! Codemaster's Version of the game was far better than this, No option to tweak Graphics so even on a good machine the game lags big time......Trust me do not wasteI have played this game and trust me the game lags even on i5 Intel Processor with 8 GB RAM and 1 GB Graphic Card, as far as the gameplay goes i am very very disappointed with the game, worst graphics, worst gameplay.......!!     I too created an account just to add to the numerous reviews here. Agree with everything said, I paid $20 for this garbage and have been totally cheated. It is not even worth $1 and the developers and publishers should be ashamed of what they have done, and issue a public apology asp. DO NOT BUY!

Unprofessional and sloppy attempt at a game. 505 Games, Trickstar and even Steam should be up on criminal charges of Theft (for charging money for this abortion of a game) and Fraud (for calling it a game). They fail to understand the basics of Cricket let alone Programming... anyone involved with making this game or who rates it more than a 1 should be sterilized.

    I have not played this game, but the videos i have seen of this game on youtube is absolutely atrocious. And i am not talking about "edited" videos that shows the worst parts of the game only. but complete, unaltered and unedited videos are what i am referring to. The bugs are so bad and repetitive that they are hilarious (and then you feel sad at the state of the game). Controls that areI have not played this game, but the videos i have seen of this game on youtube is absolutely atrocious.     This is the worst cricket game ever developed. In fact this is one of the worst cricket games ever developed, right at par with E.T. Even if unaccountable bugs are fixed the game should not fetch more then zero points. Released in November 2013 the game gives a look & game play inferior to 1999 Brian Lara Cricket.Simply not worth buying or playing.

    Horrific game, not one redeeming quality. It is buggy to the point it is unplayable, it just is NOT good enough to be sold at ANY price. Games 7 years older than this are SUBSTANTIALLY better. Unfortunately, this isn't the cricket game for me, but hopefully an alternative crops up soon.

    It is a sad day for cricket games when you see some of these bugs, absolutely insane really.

It is mind boggling, that even with the extra time during development, the game that was released feels like it was rushed out.

    The game is incredibly ugly, with character models looking like flesh coloured sticks that barely move, let alone look like they are actually playing a game of cricket. More often than not, batsmen would collide with other players, if they didn't just morph into one entity of spasms. The fielders are just as bad, because if they aren't throwing the ball to the other boundary, or not going for catches (which would normally be quite easy to catch in other cricket games) they kind of just have the ball materialise in their hand, which is very confusing if you are on the batting team, making run outs a much more frequent occurrence than what is considered normal.

    I was very excited for this game because it was the first cricket game in about 7 years, but it wouldn't be unfair if this game doesn't play as well as a cricket game from 20 years ago.

    I could go on about the lack of options, online multiplayer, no chance to change visual options (aside from screen resolution), or lack of atmosphere in game, or I could just sum up my opinion in one sentence.

    The usual cliched comment that cricket is not a big enough market is nonsense. Most popular sport in India (They've got a few people over there!), also Australia! Hugely popular in England, South-Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, West Indies, Sri-Lanka and others. Just make a decent game for a change, that does not favour certain teams. Sure bangladesh does not have the No.1 side at the moment, but why would a bangladesh supporter want a game that handicaps their favourite team by default?     I created an account just so I could warn people to stay away from this game. I probably as many Australians have been watching the cricket recently on TV and I thought, hey, I haven't played a cricket game since the old ones on Playstation 2.

    So it being 2013 and all I thought for sure cricket games must have just continued to improve(I remember the old games playing quite well.)     So it being 2013 and all I thought for sure cricket games must have just continued to improve(I remember the old games playing quite well.) Alas I looked on steam to only find two options; Cricket Revolution or Ashes 2013. TBH I purchased both but I will keep my review about Ashes 2013.

    Firstly when I purchase a game on my PC, I EXPECT to have control over all my visual and graphical settings. This has one option... ONE! Change resolution. W.T.F!? Anyway my computer runs BF4 on ultra so not really going to be an issue when it comes to graphics, but still very poor form by the developers.

    Secondly let's come to the menu, sure no real problems when navigating.. But I was horrified to find. No Tutorial! No TRAINING NETS! That means no practicing of batting or bowling! Navigate to the controls screen and batting/fielding aren't even explained properly! You get pictures with ittty bitty little text and no way to practice what it preaches so to say. The controls tell you how to hit the ball, but it doesn't tell you how to Run or Go Back! it leaves that up to you to guess. Same with fielding... tells you absolutely nothing. But by pressing A (I play with wired X360 controller) I found the fielders sprint.

    Ok so thirdly, you've just been thrust straight into a test match seen as you can't practice. The only concept of controls you've had have not made much sense, your team won the toss and you've elected to bat. BOOM! You are hit with this AWFUL camera angle.. I thought calm yourself, this is a sports game.... I'm sure there are many camera angles to choose from and I will just pick one I like. *Goes to options, high hopes* Two camera options... The Awful one and a behind the batter camera... equally terrible! Where's the classic static camera showing the batsman, umpire and you see the bowler coming from the bottom of the screen? Why the camera have to Michael Bay it with the bowler!?

    Ok fourth! Jeez, four paragraphs already! If this hasn't convinced you yet on how terrible this game is hahah, read on! So I am delivered the first ball from the AI and natually I miss. But what has happened? It was pitched way outside leg stump(nearly a wide) and the 'joke of an animation' hereby known as the 'wicket keeper' glitches his left arm out, then the ball teleports into his right hand. What am I saying? the animations on not just the wicket keeper but ALL the fielders when picking up balls, throwing or recieving look really pathetic and you as a player won't know who has the ball or where it is.

    Ok fifth which I am just throwing in last minute as I've remembered it. (Playing on wired X360 controller) The controls while batting are You have X as defense, A as drive, B as loft & Right Trigger will make the batsman come down the pitch leaving the crease. But where's my choice to play shots on the Front Foot or the Back Foot?!!!! F*********ck! Impossible to play the shot you want when the computer is deciding to play FF or BF.

    I don't know what else to say? So let me just make a tl;dr also known as a recap!
    Ashes 2013: No graphical controls, No tutorials, No Training Nets (batting/bowling), Unfinished Control Screens, Awful In-Game Camera choices, Glitchy Animations, No way to make batter play Front Foot/Back Foot shots, Poor Controls, Over Priced.

    So in conclusion as it is at the moment the game is unplayable and a total scam of money. On top of all this, this game was delayed for about 5 months! What the hell where they doing? Because they weren't working or the people creating aren't qualified to be making videogames. This isn't the 80/90's anymore but if it were you theives would be working for LJN im sure. Ashes 2013 cricket is currently $20.99 and Cricket Revolution is $2.99. My playtime for Ashes is 36 minutes and Cricket Revolution is 109 minutes.

    My advice is hold out for Don Bradman Cricket '14, if that game fails. Then I guess we are all SOL when it comes to cricket games!    … Expand

    This game is utter crap and you should avoid it at all costs. You cannot customise controls at all and the graphics do not go to 16:10.

    Do not buy this game, please, I beg you. It is very very bad.

    Worst game I have ever downloaded. full of bugs and slow. Graphics are so poor as well. A very lazy effort I wish I could ask for my money back. It's clearly not finished and batting is v hit or miss (no pun intended!)

    AVOID I'd rather get the plague!

    I can't even begin to list the things that are wrong with this game...but i'll try: the ball disappears, the ball hitting the bat sound decides to disappear from time to time, the fielders dont bother picking up the ball allowing you to run 100 from 1 ball, the ball magically goes straight to the keeper even if it is heading several meters either side of him, the ball sticks to the wall if you hit a boundary, players step over the boundary rope to throw the ball yet it's not given as a four, the umpire gives a player out even on a no ball, the fielders face the wrong way, the animations are just plain awful, the graphics are ps2 (if that), the statistics are wrong wickets are given to people who make the catch not the bowler, the scorecard frequently has mistakes on it, the commentary is often repeated, the commentary is often completely wrong, the bowler can bowl backwards, the fielders can throw if facing backwards, fields near the ball stand still and other fields from across the pitch run across to retrieve it....and there's more!

    Just please do not waste your money on this. It is by far and away the worst game I have EVER played.    … Expand

    Very Bad .Ashes Cricket 2009 is much better and i prefer that over this one.
    Don't waste your time and money on it,I have very good system GTA5 runs smooth but this one is very slow and game play is very bad

    This game is absolutely rubbish! Even the basic of animations are not done correctly, This game does not justify cricket at all. Game does not have basic features like Online play,Replay,DRS system and so on. Really disappointed, Do not purchase. Stay away.

What was that?. absolutely useless and bad (can't stress enough) game. hard to believe that the creators had the audacity to release such a sub-standard game in the market. in the 2013 market of games..such games should be forbidden to be released unless they are able to attain a certain quality standard (is there any governing body for that??)

    used to play 2009 a lot..was waiting for this to be released turns out to be the worst cricket game i ever played.
    recommendation: waste of time.don't bother buying or installing.

    Is there a quality control dept at Steam? Well if there is then they must have been asleep at the wheel what a train wreck this game has turned out to be. There are no redeeming points to this this game. Graphics poor, Animation dodgy. Keyboard controls don't work.

    Worst of all no practice nets. Whoever heard of a game of cricket without practice nets!

    What the hell was this game so many bugs it drives me crazy after too many glitches and bugs I go on to other cricket game. Come on people avoid this game there are many better cricket games.
