A great idea turned into an irritating, ugly, unfriendly and shallow game. [06/2015, p.71]

I just got this on sale at Humble Bundle for 50% off and I think that's a pretty good deal. It took me a while to get used to the interfaceI just got this on sale at Humble Bundle for 50% off and I think that's a pretty good deal. It took me a while to get used to the interface because it's not typical, but then again neither is the game play. The game jams a bunch of different elements into one game......simulation, trading, vehicle upgrades, auctions, espionage, relationship management, and a bunch of other stuff. While it sounds random, it adds up to create a complex environment where you always have something else to do and work towards. The first hour of the game was slow, but from hour 2-11 I didn't stop. Not for casual gamers but if you like deep games that let you live like The Lord of War, this game is for you.

It has a low score on Steam at 67% positive and I almost didn't buy it because of that. I read the bad reviews and it seems like most of them expected something simple and were then unhappy. Having actually read the store page, I knew it was deep and for $6.50 gave it a shot. I'm glad I did!

Oh, it seems the developers are very active on the forums. Many patches, quick replies to tech issues and they are releasing free DLC several times over the next year. They also say they plan to support and expand it over the next decade but I'll believe it when I see it.
