Ancient Frontier is a turn-based strategy game with RPG elements such as progression, technology and even adds in a little resource management. It blends all these things into a fairly well-produced package with enjoyable if sometimes a little slow gameplay. SO it certainly has some issues and bugs here and there, but its a decent indie turn-based RPG with some nice fleet management systems and LOTS of content. For 25 bucks it's a great time versus money investment, you are talking, like what? 60+ hours?!

For a two-man team, the quality and scope of this is legit. Hours of content, reasonable price and good mechanics, a few bugs and not a great UI but those can certainly be overlooked. The entire two campaign story is voiced (sometimes cheesy) but it's a nice addition.

Nice general idea - research new tech, buy different ships and add extra equipment to build a fleet for your very own play-style. But poor graphics (I know, I know, "graphics in TB strategy, go back to school", etc, but it's not me who constantly tries to add "3d" with all its shortcomings into TB strategies), just a few hull types and tactics based on severely restrictedNice general idea - research new tech, buy different ships and add extra equipment to build a fleet for your very own play-style. Are you not entertained?!! Well, nope.
Bought with huge discount, and still doesn't worth the money. Why quarter of century after Orion 2 no one was able to create a proper remake is beyond me.

A considerable improvement over their first title (the space shooter Bladestar) , Fair Weather Studios is great at proving that even a two-man team can do engaging and enjoyable stuff. If you're a sucker for sci-fi and turn-based strategy, Ancient Frontier is definitely up your alley.
