    This is a game where you play the game to advance the game ahead so you can do more stuff in the game. This is a Cruel Cycle that should be destroyed

    It is a pretty fun game with great details on landmarks and national parks and cities and towns. The graphics aren’t the greatest and sometimes the game won’t let me use me scroll. But otherwise it is great.

    I'm playing this game only since 2018, that's 2 years after its release. Most of my time was invested in ETS2 and I thought it was time to dive into this project as well. And boy ... it didn't disappoint at all!

    We’re 4 years later now and only a few months ago, I really dove into this game and started to work for the many Steam achievements. By doing so, I was able to explore a lot in    I'm playing this game only since 2018, that's 2 years after its release. Most of my time was invested in ETS2 and I thought it was time to dive into this project as well. And boy ... it didn't disappoint at all!

    We’re 4 years later now and only a few months ago, I really dove into this game and started to work for the many Steam achievements. By doing so, I was able to explore a lot in the game and I have an exploration percentage now of 96%-ish. I’m one of those guys that go searching for real-life counterparts after I found something interesting in the game and man … there are a lot of interesting things to be found! I learned a lot about The States, even though, I did it all from my game chair in Belgium, Europe.
    Each new DLC brought a lot of exciting stuff to the game. Especially the map DLCs. Those are just fantastic! I love the dedication of the development team that is shown in their work! A lot of research and love is put into this game!

    The game mechanics are very similar to those in ETS2. You could say that both games are the same but still with a lot of differences. The American environments are just too different from the European ones to speak of “same games”. Also, the trucks are totally different. The fact that SCS Software is able to let us feel those differences, is just incredible. You actually feel you’re driving a big ass truck and that you have the room to manoeuvre with that truck. Driving an American truck, through the American States, is just fantastic!

    Best ot the best among any truck sims. (not many out there in a matter of fact)
    But there is a lot to do getting better and better, because everything is changing in gaming world every year.

    I see it as a huge expansion to the euro game - with a small map that is less interesting due to a lack of speed cameras and water routes

    Great Driving Simulator with difficult driving experience of long american trucks with multiplayer mod for massive drivers online and with new co op feature , mods , etc...

    Gameplay is just like ETS2. Fairly chill & fun at some times which I personally like. Especially with a wheel as it can go to a whole new level of realism & with convoys you can have some fun with other people and friends from doing cargo shipments to just messing around in general. What I don't really like is the small cities. I get that some people don't have computers to run really "large" cities but I think some big cities on the map such as L.A is undersized (e..g buildings make it seem like a random city in the mid continental U.S.). With the help of mods though it can be automatically changed but for a vanilla experience I just don't like it. But overall it's a solid game just like ETS2.… Expand

    8/10. A relaxing game that reminds me of death stranding gameplay. It keeps one just interested enough for listening to music or watching videos on the side.

    All in all a fun, super relaxing game - perfect as a background for podcasts, streams or chatting. Works perfectly and without performance issues.
    Road network could be a bit more complex, but at the current state still has enough places to see after multiple hours. Map expansions could be released more often, as there happen to be multiple time gaps where users have no new content.     I like it more than ETS, but it's just a matter of preference. They're both fantastic games. The map of ETS looks rather samey - especially the older regions - while this one happens to be much more scenic in my opinion. The base game consists mainly of desert areas though. It's still a 10 for me - like every other game that you can play indefinitely.

    Worse than ETS2. The map is still extremely small, as is the number of trucks. But extremely beautiful landscapes of the western part of the United States. The ride is so relaxing.

    If you are like me, you care more about the experience rather than the graphics. Which can improve your mood while trucking the the United States of America. Because, like you should expect, the trucks are amazing and realistic, the customization is okay, the wheel is amazing to use, and the roads feel real. But the graphics are not the best.     America, the release of the game, which is good. But a lot of American simulator - bad and not modified.
    The heavily scaled-down maps are the worst thing in games, especially when it comes to real-world terrain.
    Station scales of cargo - I do not see indicators of my checks on weight!? This is only a model and nothing more. Police - model and simulation. There is no prosecution of    America, the release of the game, which is good. But a lot of American simulator - bad and not modified.

    American Truck Simulator is the epitome of relaxing driving games as opposed to its adrenaline-filled, heart-pumping, racing counterparts. The game feels like you're a real trucker driving in American roads, which are long and seemingly infinite, especially if you have all DLCs. With business and truck management to boot, you have your awesome simulator.

    the best transportation simulator. Constant addition of the game, updates, various improvements. The developers are great guys. I would like to get more trucks in the game itself, add a more lively environment, slightly improve the graphics of the area, but even without this the game is great!

    THE GOOD Nice character creation; male & female drivers. Leveling and skill points system is nice. Very detailed world.    This is a decent game, but it has many problems. I'll give a quick run down here on my take in the good and bad stuff.

    THE GOOD

    Nice character creation; male & female drivers.
    Leveling and skill points system is nice.
    Very detailed world.
    Great graphics. Things look real!
    Full night/day cycles.
    Realistic weather (Rain/Storms)

    THE BAD

    No snow. Seriously?
    No exhaust smoke.
    Auto saves too frequently. No option to shut it off.
    Needs more pedestrians (all ages) in cities. It's too bare.
    Buses have no occupants. Even the school buses.
    Police ticket you automatically. No pull overs.
    AI is unrealistic. Vehicles crash into you, and you get the fine!
    Needs more states added, especially to the east and north.
    Few glitches here and there.
    Visual damage from accidents is never seen. That's just dumb.
    Penalized for late deliveries/ No bonus for early deliveries.
    No injuries in crashes. Even head on doing 80 mph! Really?

    That's about it. As you can see, (at least IMHO) the bad far outweighs the good. My biggest beef is the AI driving. It's really bad and could certainly use some improvement. They drive like maniacs! They are constantly speeding, swerving like drunks, running lights/stop signs, and causing tons of accidents. However, they don't get fines. Only your player(s) get fines. That's just silly, unfair and unrealistic. The way police ticket you is dumb as well. They don't pull you over. You just automatically get a ticket. And they can ticket you from the other side of a highway, going in the opposite direction. lol. Now, that's just stupid. Any ways, the game needs more realism.

    Examples...

    Trucks getting dirty, tire blowouts, driver injuries, snow/ice, actual police pull overs, manually hook and unhook trailers, fires, driver aging, need to eat at diners or restaurants, etc. Now those kind of things would really add more needed life into this game. As it stands, I give it an 5 which I think is more than fair.    … Expand

    An excellent simulator, the evolution in detail of maps in relation to the Euro Truck is notable, but at the same time it made the game launch with a very small map, and currently, map expansions take time to come out.

    - Best anti-aliasing solutions and better calibration of bloom at night.

    The game is punishing with duel trailers, some of the 2 and 3 point stuff is the mastery of this game, having a prior knowledge to gear shifting by sound and a few other aspects made it easier to pick up, as I know several truck drivers, but it take true skill to back things up, swinging wide and other things are child's play compared to threading a needle.
    The traffic can be unforgiving as well, which I like, as it really makes you see why you should pay attention on the roads, although there are a couple things that annoy me.
    Once you arrive at a tedious location, that requires a wide turn, some cars in front of you cant be signaled to go around you like in real life, they sit there dumbly, making it even more of an art form, cars also never randomly let you into traffic, as much as this emulates real life, it would be nice for 1 out of 4 cars to allow you in, that would more closely simulate real life. Example: when I wanted to free drive after getting a truck, leaving my garage felt weird because out of the long line of traffic, not one person even gave me a gap, realistic yes, but the game has a tendency to make cars stop as they see you coming, but then when you start to move again so do they, purposely hitting you, in sort of awkward ways, as there initial stop should indicate for you to move, instead the game makes the cars hit you, sadly to say, this is what truckers actually face in real life...I think that's why I like the game so much, it's as real as it gets, even the omg moments are realistic, because it highlight the severity of losing you attention for a split second.
    Fantastic game, best game I have played in while, wonderfully functional, bet it would be even better with a steering wheel and pedals...Keyboard is not so bad if you rearrange some buttons, and actually utilize the Jake Break, it sounds cool with headphones and serves a very real purpose, I think the game calls it an engine break...I set it to middle mouse wheel to adjust its power up or down, or, clicking the wheel to use it temporarily.    … Expand

    idiotic game design - you can't even fit in lots of gas stations and cargo points.

    It is a really nice game which is very enjoyable. You could be ending up spending hours doing jobs going around US without noticing. I recommend to have a Wheel, it will increase the experience. However, if you don't like driving and/or truck it may not be nice for you.

    Este juego tiene camiones tipicos de las peliculas, pero muy poco realistas, el mapeado es pobre comparado con el euro truck 2, no lo recomiendo, es mejor la entrega anterior

    After having played ATS for over a dozen hours I put it aside and returned to Euro Truck Simulator 2. Right now ATS is just a foundation for a game and it will take a couple of DLCs to fill it properly with content. [04/2016, p.60]
