    Airscape is a very challenging and rewarding platformer.

    This game has plenty of variety and some innovative gameplay mechanics to keep you interested, also a good soundtrack. Be warned, although it looks on the face of it like an easy casual game, Airscape rapidly becomes difficult. Few players will finish this game! Still, the game is excellent and has 90% "thumbs up" from people    Airscape is a very challenging and rewarding platformer.

    This is a great indie platformer, featuring loads of gravity based puzzles, different octopus abilities and plenty of challenge. The levels in this game feature interesting design and mechanics, although some can be very hard, it's never too much to stop you from playing.

    Picked this up after the dev made a gamasutra post saying how sad it was that no one was buying the game. I think the biggest issue with this game is that it just doesnt look good in screen shots. The character is bland and the levels arent interesting looking unless they are spinning. The aesthetic looks like a default setting in unity. I have played free ios platformers with more depth, design, and gameplay innovation. So i really dont understand why this guy is mad, he made a cheap looking and playing game and priced it at 10 bucks and thinks that the consumer is the problem? I wish them well on their next game, but this was NEVER going to work and its not steam's fault, its not the consumer's fault. It's the game, it just isnt that good.

    PS: Thank god for steam refunds. I almost bought their bellyaching as a genuine issue.    … Expand

You play as an octopus in a space helmet, sucked out of your ocean and cast off into space for… no apparent reason, honestly (the game has no real plot, and the villain of the game has no clear motivation). Your goal is to navigate through the levels, freeing various sea critters and ultimately, the otherAirscape: The Fall of Gravity is a decent but unexceptional 2D platformer game. You play as an octopus in a space helmet, sucked out of your ocean and cast off into space for… no apparent reason, honestly (the game has no real plot, and the villain of the game has no clear motivation). Your goal is to navigate through the levels, freeing various sea critters and ultimately, the other octopi who were kidnapped with you, all on the way to defeat the final boss.

    This is one of those games which plays heavily with gravity. Gravity orients itself straight downward, including on curved slopes, meaning you can walk along a curved surface without ever having to jump or break your stride, similar to walking around a 3D planet with gravity. However, most platforming sections do only allow one orientation of landing on the platforms, so only select surfaces (marked by grass and similar things) are actually “walkable”.

    The game has a fairly simple set of mechanics – you can walk, you can jump, and you can, depending on your particular octopus, do one of several other things (run faster, float, teleport, slow down time, or double jump). As with many such games, the complexity comes almost entirely from the levels, wherein you must contend with twisted gravity, gravity reversals, attacks from missile turrets and moving lasers, bottomless pits, water (which always reorients your gravity according to the direction you’re facing, though you float in it so it doesn’t really matter), poisonous water you can’t spend too much time in without dying, and a very small number of invincible enemy types (no enemies in the game can be beaten). There are switches which are used to open gates and at times reverse gravity, and… that’s about it.

    All in all, the game is fairly simple, but it is generally well-executed. The levels are decent enough and generally quite short, making them relatively easy to beat in a short time – if you can do them right. Some of the later levels are quite hard, though, and despite the checkpoints in them can take upwards of ten minutes to 100%. The longest levels are the levels where you unlock your fellow octopi and the final level, where you confront a fairly difficult boss (though thankfully, with very generous checkpointing after each phase).

    The graphics look nice and are clean and attractive, and it is always clear what is going on. And if you don’t like the way the screen shifts around, you can change it to change the pace of screen rotation to avoid motion sickness and just keep it working the way you want it to.

    Sadly, the game never really feels exceptional. The game is consistently decent, and none of the levels are bad, but none of them are all that great, either. There was never a point in the game where I was wowed by it, and none of the levels really feel particularly organic (though they didn’t feel especially inorganic either – just sort of okay).

    It took me a bit under five hours to beat, with additional content stretching beyond what is necessary to beat the game which adds several more hours to the playtime.

    On the whole, if you’ve already got this in your library and are itching for a 2D platformer, you could do worse… but honestly, you could do better, too. This is just okay.    … Expand

    So I picked this game up for my Youtube channel Game Rating Review. I was very surprised by how great this game ended up being. It is a stellar game on so many levels. If you like a challenging platformer with vibrant colors and satisfying game play please pick this game up.

    По геймплею заковыристый платформер с полоумной камерой. Постепенно проходя игру и освобождая на пройденных уровнях морских собратьев, собираем определённое количество оных и открываем пороговый уровень для дальнейшего прохождения. Такие уровни дают нам новых осьминожек со своими способностями (первый носится как угорелый, второй может парить в    Этакий Super Meat Boy с осьминожками.
    По геймплею заковыристый платформер с полоумной камерой. Постепенно проходя игру и освобождая на пройденных уровнях морских собратьев, собираем определённое количество оных и открываем пороговый уровень для дальнейшего прохождения. Такие уровни дают нам новых осьминожек со своими способностями (первый носится как угорелый, второй может парить в воздухе, третий не умеет бегать, но умеет телепортироваться на короткие расстояния, четвертый замедляет время, пятый с двойным прыжком), какие-то уровни удобней проходить одними, прочие другими, а в целом все зависит от вашего стиля. Сложность игры выстроена очень гладко, постепенно добавляя новые игровые элементы, которые радуют и весьма разнообразны, многое мы видели в том же Super Meat Boy, кроме пожалую постоянных игр с гравитацией, что и вынесено в название игры, уже с первых уровней нас учат прилипать то к "стенам", то к "потолку", то плавать в водной массе между островками суши, что впрочем сразу служит минусом для людей с неискушенным вестибулярным аппаратом, т.к. камера всегда ориентируется параллельно положению игрока, а на некоторых уровнях (да почти на всех...) крутиться приходится как юла. Картинка визуально очень приятна, музыка ненавязчива, присутствует минимальная история. В результате за небольшие деньги имеем отлично скроенный и неординарный платформер.    … Expand

    Great indie platformer. Loads of different puzzles that will keep you entertained for hours. If you love platformers this is a ideal game for you. 8-10

    Airscape: The Fall of Gravity is an excellently crafted action platformer. The game’s difficulty will prove to be a challenge to most gamers but never becomes punishingly difficult. The variety of level designs, gameplay mechanics, and characters keep the game feeling fresh right through the end.

    Airscape: The Fall of Gravity is a fun platformer that is great to play when you have spare time. If you are looking for something that is more challenging then I suggest you keep looking. At the end of the day, the game left me feeling kinda empty. There just wasn’t enough of a challenge or a big enough goal to keep me playing.
