    Not perfect... of course not, but what game (especially MMO) is? What this is is a damn fantastic start to a game that will only become more and more enjoyable. The visceral world and deep combat is a breath of fresh air in this stale, McWoW market. PLEASE do not believe the small group of bashers making a front on the general forums. Who knows why they are doing what they are doing, but Not perfect... of course not, but what game (especially MMO) is? What this is is a damn fantastic start to a game that will only become more and more enjoyable. The visceral world and deep combat is a breath of fresh air in this stale, McWoW market. PLEASE do not believe the small group of bashers making a front on the general forums. Who knows why they are doing what they are doing, but it is clear they are NOT the voice of the AoC community... just currently the most heard (in General) as the rest are enjoying the game.     Its ok. The leveling is very tedious, and once you hit the main cities you don't really know where to go or what to do. A little direction would be nice. The PVP system is different, but gets boring after a while. Make sure you have a decent PC before you play this. Also, world PVP is very annoying, there is lots of corpse camping as you have to resurrect in a static place. Its ok, Its ok.     Just incredible. Also an avid WoW player for nearly last 2 years. The Good : Graphics Amazing. Control System great. Quest system really good and helps you alot. Talent System similar to WoW so easy to pickup. Additional Stat placement. Running Speed mana regen etc is brilliance on funcoms behalf. Certain aspects of the UI are good. Player movement. Collision Detection is fantastic. Just incredible. Also an avid WoW player for nearly last 2 years. The Good : Graphics Amazing. Control System great. Quest system really good and helps you alot. Quests have some depth and storylines are really good (not just a click accept and finish it) do the Destiny quest chain in starter zone. its worth it. The Bad : The chat system really sucks coming from WoW which is refined nicely, but i guess will be fixed quickly. Other than the minimap and menu selectors the UI not so hot. But mods already enroute, i haven't used WoWs default UI for a very long time so not even sure what it looks like anymore, but im sure similar addons will be available for AoC soon enough. Its a great game and if you finding WoW getting repetitive and somewhat boring outside new boss drops then grab this game its that good.… Expand

    WELL DONE FUNCOM! The attention to graphic detail,unique play style,diversified quests,and so far a lack of immaturity on the PVE servers,has won over a LOT of adult gamers. If you meet the recommended requirements,you will be enthralled by the graphics! Leave WOW now before another "tired" old news expansion keeps you bored.

    Way too much pre-game hype from folks that don't really look for depth in their MMOs. This game has zero depth beyond leveling. The top level of AoC looks awesome, its when you start looking underneath the hood and looking for important dynamics like social content, variable adventuring lines, quest rewards and world drops that give you a sense of accomplishment....when you start noticing what an unfinished project this game is. The combat system is good, but seriously it gets very old after about the 4000th time your character does the exact same fatality animation its done the other 3999 times. Just don't accept the top level reviews, people that haven't played this game past Tortage really don't start getting a feeling for the massive failures in this games concepts.… Expand

    This is the next gen. A little bit buggy, but with an impressive rate of fixing. Better state than WoW was at launch however. I am playing it slow so it gets even better, but already this is the best mmorpg so far.

    AoC is a very good game, it only gets a 9 due to the bugs which really don't even effect the game, I have played for around 5 hours now and the only problem I have is my computer only being able to run it on lowish settings. And it still looks better than WoW.     Fresh and nice approach to combat, mature as in mature and not as in immaturely showing nipples and sex everywhere, and a finely crafted world make this a gem of a MMORPG.

    This game is much more enjoyable in comparison to WoW for me. This is probably because of the more mature nature of the game and better visual experiance that it offers.

Character imbalance makes any sort of pvp beyond level 60 completely useless since the pots heal more than damage dealt. Extra even with stacking for the priest class who heals 25% of hp /round while pelting you with spells taking 10-15% of your hp. I mean the differences are so huge and clumsily designed Quite simply, this should have been in the developers hands for a few months more. I stack (at level 69) 50-100 Daggamalt and the same amount of Sweetpressed Haste and is basically untouchable unless ganged or maged. PVP with same class turns into a dragged out event where the outcome is determined by who forgets to pot =). Also there are some major issues with your characters implementation into his/her surroundings with a large possibility of getting stuck in the most trivial of objects. However the unstuck function works pretty well. Better than WoW in any event, where the unstuck option is a complete farce. This will all be fixed though, which is why it's not too bothersome but still worth mentioning. The pros far outweigh the cons in any event. The construction of the guild city is marvellous and if you play on RP-PVP like me it really reinforces the feel of the game. The quests are enjoyable. Grinding levels is no problem as long as you make sure the mobs are 3-4 levels above you at all times so you get from 2-3K exp /mob or more if you chain-kill them ofc. This will be a great game in a short time. If they manage to fix the annoying pvp issues that is...… Expand

    There are bugs but what new mmo didn't? I think it is a wonderful game & plays brilliantly on my pc also love the combat system & spellweaving

    Amazing game, would earn a 10 apart from the few bugs that have to exist with the creation of a new MMO, however when all is sorted, this game will most likely start to rival World of Warcraft, without all the kids.

    The graphics are really the only revolutionary thing in the game. The combat system is something that belongs on a playstation not a PC MMO. Quests are decent, but there's not enough of them. Overall it's nothing new, it's just a new game that will pass pretty quickly. The world is painfully small for an MMO and all instanced.

    Age of Conan has been fun and interesting since its release. Even with the few bugs, the game is fantastic.

The game starts off mainly solo for the first 20 levels and doesn't do a bad job, I have played upto level 44 so far ( cap is 80 ) and found it enjoyable but also very annoying at times. The game is still in its infancy, even You will need a decent PC to run this Dual or Quad, with a good amount of RAM and a fairly recent graphs card, unless you want it to look naff and run slow. The game starts off mainly solo for the first 20 levels and doesn't do a bad job, I have played upto level 44 so far ( cap is 80 ) and found it enjoyable but also very annoying at times. The game is still in its infancy, even after 5 years of production we are seeing memory leaks, broken quests amongst other things. The combat as a melee character is fun, it can turn the tide of a fight should you get the combo wrong, quests are fun but the grouping lets itself down as you cannot see party members until they are very close to your position ( if you can't see them at all make sure you are in the same instance )., though is fun when it works. The developers have thus far ignored a lot of players complaints never replying to them despite threads going on for over 40 pages. If you are entering this and favour the caster expect nothing different from lotro or wow, its still target and click, bar the healers who tend to cast an AoE heal. The game has real potential not only in PvE but PvP with player built cities and insane combat it could rule the roust, but as it stands its a buggy mess and no end of nice graphics, heads flying off and boobs will change that, give it 6 months and this could be a winner.… Expand

    A half-baked game with little to add to the genre. The multi-player questing areas are small, overcrowded and mob spawns are slow. There's not nearly enough soloable instance content (or "night mode" as they call it) to justify going past lvl 20. Lazy development in an another squandered fantasy universe.

    So many bugs, limited leveling after 40. I am level 50 and have to grind all day. The crafting is completely messed up. Don't play this for 2 months when beta is over.

    Over promised and under delivered. The world feels small and empty, like a single player game. The quests are dumbed down more than WOW, and the combat is only a half step above button mashing; it's just a lot more button mashing.

    Age of Conan is quite a good game from what I have played. The combat is from the first, an engaging affair. However, it might not be what everyone hoped for. The visuals are stunning, and the quests are actually enjoyable. At the moment my only complaint would be the lack of some content and the many bugs, although this is to be expected with recently released MMO.     Excellent launch. innovative gameplay and beautiful graphics. The content is faithful to REH. Even has good PvP. Typical MMO bugs at launch (content gaps, graphical quirks, balance issues, fringe user problems) but many of those are already being addressed. In 3 or 4 months this game will be perfect.

    Age of Conan is an awesome game, you have to expect alot of bugs and flaws from the very start of an MMORPG since the amount of data being tested is overwhelming. Yes, you do need a proper computer, and it might not be quite as good as what WoW is atm, but give it a couple of months so they can fix the bugs, enhance classes! Enjoy this great MMO, It's really worth a try.

They're a real eye-opening experience as far as MMOs go because every quest has full voice acting, multiple conversation branches (although they all ultimately lead to "yes i'll do it" or "no I won't) and a unique "single player" campaign where you can do a series of storyline quests without fear of other players. Unfortunately Level Flow: The first 20 levels are fantastic. They're a real eye-opening experience as far as MMOs go because every quest has full voice acting, multiple conversation branches (although they all ultimately lead to "yes i'll do it" or "no I won't) and a unique "single player" campaign where you can do a series of storyline quests without fear of other players. Unfortunately after these first 20 levels things go downhill, and fast. Voice acting stops completely and utterly, you end up skipping the scripted dialogs because you either no longer care or you are too scared of being ganked while accepting quests (which you can do nothing about). You end up running out of quests completely in the mid 30s which is about the time you will likely give up on the game. Gameplay: The combat mechanics are new and relatively varied for melee but the same old crap for casters which creates an even greater rift between the archetypes in PVP battles. Graphics: While the graphics engine is very impressive, the level design and repetitive and unimaginative use of textures ultimately lets it down in the graphics department. Sound: Fairly average overall with nothing really remarkable or downgrading.… Expand

    This game is the single funnest MMO ever, instead of boring and somewhat predictable PvP like in WOW this game is awesome because you never know if the person passing you will attack you or not.

    This game is great and in a few months it will be even better anyone complaning about bugs has obviously never been part of a MMO release befor compaired to most MMOs this is a very smooth release. And to the guy who said they had to delete two chars because of low FPS... you are stupid get off your old apple 2.

No end game content, no DX10 support, meaningless item stats, graphical glitches, no buddy passes (CE owners can use them as of five days ago), and host of other problems.     game has some endgame issues and some tech issues that are being worked on the forums are a pit and should be avoided. HOWEVER the game itself is alot of fun in groups the graphics are great and with a proper setup rig looks beautiful and plays great.

Too bad it fails, as previous reviews say there are tons of bugs, big performance issues and PvP is surprisingly pretty f'd up at the moment. This is fun game to some point but then the frustrations sets in. Crash, server crash, lag spikes, bugged quests, FPS drops, priest class' overpower...     Is the best mmorpg and with your guild you can buil cities and do guild vs guild (a fantastic thing) the grafik is fantastic,and is good than Wow, I love Age of Conan -buy it.

    Graphics are nice, but should be better for the type of system it requires. Buildings don't look that great. Gameplay new at first for non-spellcasters but gets boring. To much lack of content and bugs, even for a new mmorpg.

    A beautiful looking game, with combat as bloody and vicious as Mr. Howard would have wanted it, beyond that? Bugs, crashes, stats that don't do anything, and a character that looked the same for 30 levels make me say Eh. I feel like I bought a car that was still being built.

    Excellent game. Much of the game is still not complete, but what they have is excellent. Would suggest this game to any experienced MMO player. Combat system takes some getting used to, but once you learn it you will love it.

    LAG, and CRASHES, and BUGS, OH MY! The only things Age of Conan had going for it at launch was superior graphics. Everything else, including gameplay, stability, and class balancing was absolutely pathetic, pitiful. I quit after the first month.

    I have played this game to level 80 and to be honest when you get to level 55 you have to grind grind and grind. There isnt enough content for higher levels, there is only 2 pvp type mini games which pretty much suck. When you get to level 70 and manage to get to the level 70 playing area, there are always the regular gankers which camp both spawns and the exit out of the area. Not enough I have played this game to level 80 and to be honest when you get to level 55 you have to grind grind and grind. There isnt enough content for higher levels, there is only 2 pvp type mini games which pretty much suck. When you get to level 70 and manage to get to the level 70 playing area, there are always the regular gankers which camp both spawns and the exit out of the area. Not enough area in game, not enough content, way too many gankers but hey decent graphics.… Expand

    New WOW clone now in Hyborian clothes. If you read REH (creator of Conan) books from Hyboria...you don't find that world from AOC. Really really shame. Game alone is full for bugs and poorly copies game mechanisms and classes from WOW. Nothing truly new.

There is little to no end game (60+) PvE content. 2 months after release there is still no PvP system and no DX10 (even though pre-release this was plugged heavily). Its quite clear the game was rushed to market before it was finished. Its such a shame.     Good Graphics and cool fatalities... Until your system Locks up! This game is fataly flawed and does not run for more then 10min to 2 hours before freezing your computer... And I own a Top Notch system. Buyer Beware.

The emphasis on PvP that was promised by Failcom was completely unrealized, and imho PvP in AoC was frustrating at best. The crafting system is, to be frank, garbage. Questing is extremely tedious.     Didn't start out this way, but its certainly a rock-solid MMORPG, thanks to Funcom's continued work on patches/etc. Minor issues aside, the game is enjoyable, thoroughly engaging and highly recommended for anyone who has read any Conan. yes, read - forget the movies. This is Hyboria as Robert E. Howard envisioned it.

    Based on the beta, reviews, and released information, this game will be a perfect game for those MMO players looking for something new and fun. The melee system is great for those that like more skill based games. I would give it a 10 if the voice acting was better and if the class balancing was a bit better.

    I've been in the closed beta, tech test and so on. Since the NDA and everything has been lifted. I would say this is the biggest letdown of this year. The game simply does not even live up to what they claimed to offer (no persistant world, no 64 bit support, no directx 10 support).     I got to say i have never heard of a launch this smooth and never NEVER have you seem a MMO so pretty. Max setting DX10 it is amazing. I think my view distance is set to 3km. Anyone tired of what they are playing i would advise to check this game out. (just make sure you computer can run it)

    Found the game to be nice as far as the graphics for the environment. Interface was weak, but I enjoyed the game play. I hope they end up tweaking the UI a little bit or mods for it will start to show up.     Best MMO I have ever played. Combat is a bit clunky when you first use it and are on the "mash buttons!" phase of learning the system, but once you truly get used to it combat flows amazingly well and the combo system is great. From the very beginning the game is *packed* with quests and content, and I think I'll be playing this for quite a long time.

    Combat cool having lag issues with it, the biggest problem i have is the whole game being instance based and not being able to see all players in areas.. to me thats guild wars and not a true mmo

    This game is groundbreaking! No auto-attack. When you are fighting you're actually doing it, instead of just watching your character doing it for you. And the graphics, gosh, it's awesome. There's no other mmo even close. Thumbs up!

    Absolutely fantastic. The graphics are stunning, the game play is original, challenging, and a blast to learn. I was skeptical at first, but I've fallen in love with it! My 4 year long subscription to WoW was canceled two days ago and AoC has taken over!

    Still trying to wake up from the lenght of time it takes to zone in and out of places. Also lose you r pet each time you zone in and out and when you climb ladders. No buy back when you sell items if your tired and make a mistake. Sorry was hoping this game was going to be different from others but it is not needs a lot of work. I would not buy this game.

    It's feels like the open beta of Burning Sea. That's not a compliment in case your wondering. This game feels unfinished, unpolished and lacks a real difference from other failed mmos. It's a good game, but not a great game. It reminds me of Guild Wars. And you don't have to pay a subscription fee for that sub par game, this one.. you do. Pass on it for at least six months.

    Amazing game ive been on the early access for a week now and i can not fault it in anyway... only thing that put me off giving it a ten was the high demand in computer resourses which made me buy another graphics card, i also added a hard drive with a sepeate installation of WinXP soley for the game which gave me excellent FPS. I can only recomend this game (if your PC can handle it.

I had high expectations for it, and that usually sets me up for disappointment, but I have nothing but positive things to say about this game after several days with it. I love the interactivity of the combat and the fatalities are great fun. The graphics are gorgeous - I'm taking screenshots all over the place.     I have only marked this game down by one point due to the not so elegant UI when dealing with elelments such as stats and character. Other than that this is a truely enjoyable game. I think the person who has has marked this as a 4 has shown their impatience somewhat. If you want to know where to go to complete a quest you simply open your quest log and select the quest.     I have not really gotten into a game like this since UO and DAOC, Ive read Howard's Conan some but was never a big fan, I did not follow the game much during it's development. Ive been in WAR beta for a while now and was focused pretty much on WAR only. But once I tried AOC I forgot all about WAR. I find myself playing as much as I used to play UO.     A game with fantastic graphic and athmosphere. Sadly everything is destroyed by all loading time because they have divided the game world in different areas. Everytime you go to a new area you must talked to a npc and then travel. The feeling for a open world is lost.

    Don't listen to the guy that gave this game a 4. It has so many new elements to an MMO that you just have to try to see if you will like it. Combat is different, spells are different, pvp is different. Some completely solo content available to get you started instead of just throwing you to the wolves.
