What a lovely game! I like everything about it! The graphics are high quality, colorful and pleasing to the eyes. The plot is funny, fascinating and purr-fectly sweet. The music is beautiful and calm, sounds are not annoying, and “Meow” every time the kitten goes to fight ghosts is adorable. The gameplay is very similar to Hercules games but looks more creative, fresh and original.
We still need to remove the obstacles, build the bridges, farms and workshops to go further. But also we have a great number of unique objectives, enemies and obstacles. It’s not just “clear the road” for hundred times. To open the gate or catch Amalthea we need the workers to stand the platforms. To defeat the Treebull we need the red fabric. This is very funny as well as fighting roots, moles and plants, waking up hydra etc. Even the food can look not only like boring cheese but haunted pumpkins, sliced fish, grapes inside the shells. Thanks to all these things I felt I play a brand new game with its own features, not just a common copy of my favorite games.
The very first levels of the game are quite easy. But after there appear new obstacles and difficulties such as dark levels there we need to light the firepits, seabed levels with cursed shells that have to be de-spelled by the kitten, and of course the levels with the wizard catching the workers. This wizard was mentioned in several previous reviews, and I might say that at first he was a problem for me, too. But just at first. And just because I didn’t expect these traps. Actually, there are only 3 or 4 levels with wizard, and these levels require the special strategies and attention. I think that’s fine for the strategy game.
The Collector’s Edition includes extra chapter, wallpapers and guide (text-and-picture guide, not blue arrows like in last Hercules games). Worth to buy for playing more levels and having more fun.
I hope that “Adventures of Megara” will become a series of games. For now, I like it even more than Hercules games (sorry, Herc). I always thought that Megara is really interesting and heroic character deserving attention. And I’m really glad she got it!… Expand
