    Graphics are meh, but the story was written by a 14 year old wattpad user who came up with the most cliche plot twist that ruined the whole story. The start is kind of interesting, but from the minute 5 it goes downhill. Characters are boring, Vincent is as exiting as a cold, bland bowl of oatmeal, and the voice acting doesn't help.     Mechanics are wonky, specially when shooting or simply using a flashlight, and the game only allows you to move like a **** handicapped manechin. Also, you wont need to replay levels, because you LITERALLY CAN'T DIE. It doesn't matter that the bad guys are BLASTING you with cannons, you can just keep riding your bike and chilling while admiring the views.

    Oyunun hikayesi iyi ama senaryosu bok gibi. Adamlar hapisten kaçmış, gidecekleri ilk yer hanımlarının yanı, belli. İki tane sivil polis falan olur etrafta, evi gözetler, bunlar gelince enselerler falan, yok. Polis geliyor, kocan gelince haber ver deyip gidiyor. Ha oldu canım!

    Madem Vincent gizli görevdeydi, o kadar polis bok mu varda üstümüze geldi saldırdı bize. Ayarlasaydınız bir şeyler, rahatça gitseydik. Saçmalıktan başka bir şey değil.

    Bir de o baş kötü neydi öyle? Acımasız olduğunu göstermek için saçma sapan insan öldürüyor falan. Hiç mi iyi film izlemediniz? O kadar ucuz yazılmış ki ellerini ovuşturup "hi hi hi" diye gülmediği kaldı bir tek.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wanted to play with my boyfriend after getting a great experience playing with the same studio game, It Takes Two. But how disappointed I was with this game. It's not good at all. Lots of bugs, formulaic character behaviour, predictable events, completely uninteresting interaction primitive. Pick something up, give something away. We literally forced ourselves to go through the game, but it's a good thing it's short. We were counting on a cool story and ending at least. But the developers just kill an already boring and dull game with an even more stupid ending. The developer makes an executioner out of the player making the ending brutal anyway. It's just inhuman and not what I was going to get out of the game. Okay if it was justified by the story, but it's not even justified by the story in any way. It's a complete failure.… Expand

    A solid nostalgic experience for every male in their late forties that can't forget that chirstmas evening in Nakatomi Plaza. The fairly original mechanic, "immersive" mini games and chicken throwing as well as the reasonable plot almost compensate the cheesy lines and absurd scenes. Its never been so easy to find somebody in Mexico.

    This game has bought it's reviews or has been played 90% by non-gamers, because there is no way this piece of crap has such positive reviews.

    I played it through Origin access with one of my best friends online and we started trying to role play a little bit and go along with the story...but it was impossible. Everything sounds so raw and unpolished. The graphics are nothing special overall, but there's one thing that really baffles me...the FACES! They used motion capture for this game and they look SO BAD! This game will repeat some of the most familiar action film cliches and will just NOT STOP repeating them.

    Well...what about gameplay? Non-existent!
    There is no gameplay, just some random clicking in the middle of this TERRIBLE film that is A way out.

    I will give this game 1 star instead of 0 because it was so bad that we actually had some laughs from it, plus the fact that it was just about 6 or 7 hours so not much time spent on it nonetheless.
    If you want to see how NOT to develop a game, give this one a try.    … Expand

    Story is kind of good typical elements like betrayal,prison,undercover cop but well made.
    We finished the story in 6 hours and If we took the short way without wasting time we could finish in 4 hours considering the price of the game definetly not worth it.

    I was playing the cop and let him die in the last fight because he was a piece of filth posing as a good guy angry over his lame cop friends death which our criminal character didnt KILL    … Expand

    The only benefit of this game is that it tries to be coop. Scenes of doing trivial tasks to implement a "mechanic." The game is driven by a lackluster story with voice acting below par. It is extremely linear, even though choices in the game seem like there could be an alternative ending, but no. The only option that matters is the end.     A big dissapointment for me and my friend. We had read the reviews and were looking for a decent coop game to play. The problem is, there isn't much playing. The game is 70% cutscenes and 90% timed button-pressing (seriously). The characters and dialogue are corny and the emotions are forced which just makes the whole experience a joke/painful. The action/shooting scenes would be good in aA big dissapointment for me and my friend. We had read the reviews and were looking for a decent coop game to play.     This is supposed to be an immersive coop narrative game, in which you play two convicts trying to escape a prison, then looking for revenge on a common enemy. What we expected was a great story, good graphics and an immersive environment.    This is the funniest game I’ve played in ages! Unfortunately, it’s not because the game is by itself funny, more so because it’s so bad it’s funny.

    This is supposed to be an immersive coop narrative game, in which you play two convicts trying to escape a prison, then looking for revenge on a common enemy. What we expected was a great story, good graphics and an immersive environment.

    Story-wise, all characters are stupid and make poor decisions, starting with the protagonists themselves:
    “Ok, here’s the plan. I talk to the two guards and say that I need to talk to them in this corner over there, so you can sneak through the door. I don’t see why they’d refuse!” -- They didn’t. They even fell for the “There’s a fight over there, you should both go!” trap, leaving the door unlocked, open and unguarded.
    “Let’s use this wooden boat to escape the cops, I’m sure we’re going to be faster by rowing on this river than them with their cars!” -- It worked. Maybe the cops went upstream.
    “My wife just gave birth. I know we’re known criminals with our face on every newspaper, but I don’t think cops will go to the hospital, right?” -- Cops were there. So unpredictable.
    The game is filled with these unrealistic decisions and NPC reactions.
    It’s also reusing all movies tropes you can find in any prison escape movie, they’re just missing the file in the cake, that’s all.

    Well, the story is bad. How about the other aspects? Graphics are not great, but not too bad. Some animations on the other hand are so bad they’re hilarious, which is really hard to understand knowing they used motion capture for the game.
    The different gameplay phases are poorly done, it sent me back in the early days of 3D gaming when driving games had ridiculous physics and broken collisions.

    At first I was nitpicky about some unrealistic things, because I thought the game was serious. Like how can the toilets be moved so easily in the cell, aren’t they connected to the plumbings? But after a while, I understood the developers just didn’t care about immersion… Or did they? The ending unfortunately confirms their intention on doing a good immersive game with a good story, which is not. That’s kind of sad for them.

    Ok, I’ll drop here some cool things. First, the split-screen is interesting to follow both sides when the characters are not in the same place. Also, some camera transitions are cool and really gives the impression we’re watching a movie. There we go!

    A Way Out is a true nanar, a game so bad that it’s good.

    The game tries to be story focused and based around choices that you and your partner make but ends up taking a huge dump on those principles at the end for the sake of trying to be provocative but just looks poorly written and thought out.
    The ending is one of the worst endings I've have ever witnessed in a video game, some will probably find it original, I thought it was nonsensical to all the previous event (90% of the game) and insulting to the people who thought it was going to be a bonding experience between you and a friend.

    *SPOILER AHEAD*

    If you are passionate about games and their stories, etc, put your graphics setting to the minimum for this one because at some point, you are going to fight your own friend using the worst 3rd person gunplay, and the story progresses based on that outcome, so basically, if your friend has a great pc and you have an old piece of trash, that will most likely affect the outcome of the story, which is one of the worst concepts I've ever seen in gaming, and especially in a coop game.

    The good? Well, the voice actors did "ok"; not great though. The graphics are pretty decent. The gameplay isn't buggy at least. Oh and one really awesome thing. Only one person needs to buy the game. That's brilliant. Honestly, if we had both paid full price for this stinker, this review might have little more profanity in it. ;)

    My recommendation? unless you're playing with a complete non-gamer partner, I'd avoid this, and even with a non-gamer partner, I'd think twice as this probably isn't the shining example of gaming that you want to use to expose them to your fun pastime.    … Expand

    Побег - 40 минут. Невнятные события - остальное время. Главный герой пропускает через себя пули, совсем не рискуя умереть. Ваш выбор в игре повлияет разве что на следующие 10 минут игры.

    И вишенка на этом сомнительном торте - концовка, где наш "ДРУГ" оказывается копом под прикрытием.

    Hazelight’s interactive movie sets a new standard for co-op games. It’s varied, thrilling, very pretty and enjoyable for both hardcore and casual gamers. It evokes tons of positive emotions and I can’t remember last time an action game moved me so much. [05/2018, p.50]
