A truly memorable experience. I finished the game in about 12 hours. The progression starts slowly with easy and interesting puzzles. Until the last chapter, where it really pays off and the story is so unexpectedly deep that I couldn't hold back my tears toward the end. Despite the repetitive combat mechanics, this game kept me going with its beautiful pixel art and mesmerizing music. InA truly memorable experience. I finished the game in about 12 hours. A great pixel art game with relaxing music and visual. It really drew me back to 90s era. Love it for every single moment of this game

If I could describe it in one word, then beautiful would fit the words boring

I can see everyone praises the pixel-art of the game. Well if you compare it with a similar graphic style I agree that is a very good piece of work. Far be it from me to minimize the hard work of the game art director and his team but I think the pixel-art is too overrated.. I admit that I'm not a fan of the pixelated graphic so my opinion is purely subjective. But the truth is theI can see everyone praises the pixel-art of the game. The worst section of the game is the UI (user interface) which I consider it very poor designed. On the other hand, what I like the most about the game is the complexity of characters and their natural behavior. And I don't mean only the two main characters, Atma and Raya, which are so natural in their decisions regarding some complex situations, but also the other characters, each one of them being subject of the story..

The game is an in depth analysis on the borderline personality disorder; it goes through the journey of a girl's mind being betrayed by her own father trying to find peace with that; it does it with the help of an avatar controlled by the player. The game is imperfect in that it drags too long explaining certain concepts and with excessive usage of allegory while the gameplay itself is too simplistic to offer any depth. Perhaps it would work even better as an indie film instead of a game because the best part of it is the core story and not the gameplay. Expand

Script and narrative... 7? The last two chapters are the weakest and instead of taking risks they lead to something that we have already seen told on other occasions (with, for me, a pretty weak ending). Luckily, everything else keeps you going, with the occasional tear along the way.

There are some aspects that I enjoyed here.

The pixel art felt careful and, because of the period it passes, matches with the atmosphere. Some deep scenes were beautiful also. The prologue worked for me, and I was genuinely curious about it. The characters got my attention fast enough. Before I forget, the OST was a highlight here. Regrettably, the plot doesn't sustain itself.

Regrettably, the plot doesn't sustain itself. Gameplay-wise, it feels a little empty. There's no challenge, at least in the first 3 hours, and what makes you go ahead is mostly the story and visuals. That's okay for me, but if the gameplay is off, the narrative must be pretty good to compensate. And It is?

Some critiques say that the end is amazing, but man, I don't want to play for 9 hours just to the end. What about the path? The dialogs were too "silly" for me. Cute, but silly. There are some holes too, mostly on some ellipses.

Anyway, I think you should try, but didn't work for me as intended.

A Space for the Unbound is an example of an adventure story that will have the surprising and far-reaching power to move most people, whether or not they enjoy the ride the gameplay presents. It will particularly appeal to those players who have a fondness for the 16-bit console era, and those who like cats!
  2. There are some exciting puzzles and well executed point-and-click elements which add to the story and encourage you to explore the town. But there are also some fighting sequences and quick time events, which seem completely opposite to the themes it’s going for. There are also a huge number of collectibles, which in general add to the world-building, but feel punishing as many are time or chapter specific. However, for these fumbles the story is so incredible that it’s easy to look past them, and enjoy one of the best stories gaming has to offer.

If you can withstand a slow and meandering beginning, A Space for the Unbound will reward you with one of the more emotionally earnest and moving stories to be found in an adventure game.
