Apr 24, 2021This game is way better than Super Mario 64. The Snatcher is amazing in every way. The hat abilities are SO GOOD.
Just...don't play the Switch version. -

Aug 6, 2021This is a Mario Odyssey clone…..and I loved every second of it, this game has so much charm and love put into it. The multiplayer is lacking but it more than makes up for it in the mods, if you ever feel that Mario itch for exploring than just play this game, and if you don’t still play it!

Aug 6, 2021The best 3D platformer of all time, even rivaling the revolutionary Super Mario 64, this game is way more technical than Mario Odyssey too.

Jan 11, 2022this game is a masterpiece it blows any 3d platformer that Nintendo has made out of the ball park and straight into outer space. this is the best 3d platformer of all time.

Jan 15, 2022One of the best games I have EVER played. The controls and movement is one of the best in a videogame ever. And the murder mystery. OH. MY. GOD. ITS SO GOOD. The game has some difficulty spikes at the boss battles, but It's really satisfying when you defeat them. This is what 3D platformers should strive to be.

Feb 20, 2022A fun as heck campaign coupled with easy and smooth controls and a steam workshop full of numerous custom content makes for a game that sits on the same level as Mario Odyssey.

Apr 28, 2022A great platformer with a decent story and fun, interesting characters. Each world is dense and contains interesting missions that make the game an overall blast to play. The only real downsides in the game are the fact that there are frame rate issues at different parts of the game and that the combat overall is extremely simple.

Mar 28, 2023This game is great. All the levels are full of personality and life, the movement is tight and is some ways better than most 3D Mario games. I'd give it a 10, but the Seal the Deal DLC and Alpine Skyline level aren't great, but still alright. If you're a fan of platformers, I definitely recommend this game.

Jan 24, 2018In the end, A Hat In Time features enough charm to overcome its shortcomings. If you can live with the unreliable camera, then you'll find a game that offers a pleasant platforming experience, tons of secrets to uncover, and a good amount of abilities to experiment with. The variety of environments and activities is appreciated, as are some of the breaks from platforming norms. The characters may be the main reason for playing the gamefrom beginning to end, just to see what they'll say or do next. For fans of platformers, A Hat In Time is well worth your time.

Jan 19, 2018A Hat in Time proudly doesn’t shy from showing its inspirations from the 3D platform classics while radiating its own unique personality thanks to charmingly designed worlds (although we could do with a bit more of them!). It is unfortunate then that precise jumping is never as… precise as it should be. Even though it may not hinder the enjoyment by much it is nevertheless a shortcoming in an otherwise especially enjoyable experience.

CD-ActionJan 10, 2018A great game from a genre that we see so rarely on PC. It’s not too demanding, but it’s pure joy to play, as it’s charming, cheerful, full of stuff to gather and uncover and does a lot to keep you engaged all the time. Not all levels were designed to the same high standard, but even in its weaker moments A Hat in Time is still good. At its best it really shines. [13/2017, p.60]
