The pace is steady, but the stakes are high as the relentless hordes amass in an effort to overrun your mobile command center.

Unlike traditional TD games, you will be relying heavily on micro-managing dynamic action-based abilities. As you progress deeper into the campaign airstrikes, charged attacks, fortification walls and the tactical drone will become increasingly vital and deploying them strategically will be paramount.

Mistakes won't go unpunished so stay frosty, learn from your blunders and endure to fight another day. Without pain there can be no gain!

2112 TD is a tower defense game aiming to emulate aspects of old RTS games such as Total Annihilation. While I got some of these vibes, I never felt absorbed in the world or story, and it didn't seem to 'fit'. There are alien type big monsters, but then there are also hordes of zombies. Yeah... zombies again.

The graphics are fine. The best parts are probably the animations and the particle effects of some of the towers, particularly the flame tower. Overall they are nothing special though. The user interface is a bit odd at times, particularly in the main menu, and sometimes it's not clear what's available to the user. It feels like it's lacking some polish, but it's ok.

The gameplay is fine. Really standard tower defence stuff. No obvious bugs. Unfortunately for your first few hours your bottleneck will not be your skill, but rather gaining skill points to permanently upgrade towers. This takes away the feeling of purpose for a large chunk of the game. It's more of a grind than a strategy test. The strategy doesn't seem too testing for me, and I quickly found a strategy that worked on every map every single time and I didn't have to think much. The "story" if you can call it that, is extremely unmemorable, but it doesn't really take away from the enjoyment.

The music and audio isn't memorable but it's not bad. It's super bog standard military rts type music.

The game is not very unique at all. There is nothing new in this game that I haven't seen from other tower defense games. It's super super bog standard tower defence stuff. They couldn't even resist throwing zombies in it. You have your aoe tower, you have your pea shooter, you have your big daddy damage tower, etc.

The game is very good value. At under $5, I recommend it to any tower defense game lover. There are also no macroscamsactions or DLC. You buy it once, you have it forever. You will get probably 5-10 hours or more enjoyment from the game.

Conclusion: I recommend the game to any tower defense lover. While it's very average, it's not bad, and it's great value for the cheap price.
