Yoshi and the Mysterious Book turns curiosity and experimentation into the heart of a charming, creative adventure full of personality. While not every idea reaches its full potential, Nintendo delivers a relaxed and constantly imaginative platformer that finds something special in the simple act of discovery.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is a delightful game. True to the tradition of Yoshi games, it introduces a new concept per level, but its unconventional approach to platforming allows you to explore each one thoroughly; in fact, experimenting with each one is essential for progress. The literary theme isn’t just a gimmick, it shapes every single aspect of the game: everything functions and looks like it’s in a book—or rather, like the pages of an ancient bestiary of fantastical creatures into which a host of talented people have poured abundant creativity and imagination.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book stands out as one of the most relaxing and visually captivating titles from this early stage of the Nintendo Switch 2's lifecycle. It is an experience packed with a remarkable variety of ideas and clever little challenges provided by the magical world of Mr. E. Although it lacks some of the depth and challenge that Nintendo fans are used to finding in the company's platformers, its superb level design, mechanical variety, and artistic quality make it well worth checking ou, perhaps you'll even find in it the blueprint for the future of Yoshi's core gameplay.
