Nov 21, 2025Yooka-Replaylee offers the ideal combination: on the one hand, the nostalgia of classic games for veterans, and on the other, an accessible experience for curious youngsters thanks to the inclusion of numerous quality-of-life (QoL) improvements. While it doesn't add anything revolutionary, it's clear how they've improved over time, and we can only wait for a third installment where they'll unleash even more creativity and see what surprises they have in store for us.

Nov 20, 2025Yooka-Replaylee on Nintendo Switch 2 is a very good upgrade over the original to the point where I wouldn’t bother playing the former anymore. I just wish the Switch 2 version had a performance mode or even a 40 frames per second option. Right now, this is one to play on PS5 or Steam Deck if you have those options. If you only play on Switch and Switch 2, I can still recommend it if you want a quality 3D platformer collectathon, but I was hoping for better.

The levels are now packed with things to do, the range of different challenges keeps things interesting, and the upgrades and equippable tonics enable you to customise the difficult to suit your playstyle. All in all, this is now an essential purchase for fans of 3D platformers.
