May 4, 2026Overall, Tokyo Scramble is a decent survival game. It’s a little rough around the edges, with a few graphical hiccups. The cute dialogue doesn’t always fit in, but then again, this is Tokyo! It’s the perfect setting for such a quirky game, and I enjoyed discovering what was hiding around each corner. I’d prefer a third, easier mode, or some way to mitigate the tricky sections with hints. But otherwise, this was a much better experience than I’ve read about online.

There are moments of creativity and clever design, but these are overshadowed by monster maze monotony. Tokyo Scramble feels half baked. It's clunky and the story pay-off for patience is not worth the investment. Exercise your own patience, Jurassic Park it for now and wait for the game to go on sale.

The result is a game that feels more exhausting than engaging, one that hints at a stronger experience it never quite becomes.

Feb 17, 2026Tokyo Scramble is weird enough that it is sometimes entertaining, and it's technically playable from beginning to end, but there's so little enjoyment to be had that I don't recommend it. It's the worst Switch 2 exclusive to date, and with a lineup that includes games like the boring Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour and the wildly overpriced Survival Kids, that's saying something.

The problem is that the exposition is ultimately poor, and the adversary presentation is inadequate due to the lack of concluding action. The controls and mechanics are frustrating, the world is dull, and the game is clumsy at every turn.
