May 29, 2026This is one of those games where the leaderboard dominates the experience, and Sektori’s scoring is complex and nuanced enough to reward true expertise in play. Whatever position you earn on that leaderboard is entirely earned. In my case it’s a very low place indeed, but I can’t stop playing and trying to beat my own score, let alone anyone else’s. I might never reach the top of Sektori’s leaderboard, but I can recognise the utter design brilliance that has gone into making this game. I can’t believe that so many people are overlooking this thing.

May 21, 2026Sektori is, without a doubt, one of the best shoot ‘em ups to drop in years. While it stands on the shoulders of giants, it brings enough to the table to prove its worth. Beautiful in its simplicity and addictive in action, you’ll constantly have to fight that “one more run” feeling to get anything done once you start playing. Everyone should give Sektori a try.

Tough boss fights occasionally spike the difficulty, but the game’s silky-smooth Switch 2 performance and wealth of playmodes make it hard to put down.
