    Greatest game of all time. Genuinely, I’ve replayed this game over 5 times and it never gets old. Sure, the controls aren’t the best, and the game has its fair share of flaws. But even with that, it’s the greatest game I’ve ever played. I wish this game could’ve gotten a sequel like it was planned to.

    It is an amazing game as it is funny with its "oh my, perverted jokes and the likes made by a squirrel others, this game really is so 'no f's given'" and pays hommage to a lot of movies. But that is really all the game is known for. There is barely any coherent story as it is an amalgamation of movies like Terminator, The Godfather, Saving Private Ryan, The Exorcist, Dracula, etc. exceptIt is an amazing game as it is funny with its "oh my, perverted jokes and the likes made by a squirrel others, this game really is so 'no f's given'" and pays hommage to a lot of movies. But that is really all the game is known for. There is barely any coherent story as it is an amalgamation of movies like Terminator, The Godfather, Saving Private Ryan, The Exorcist, Dracula, etc. except for "Conker f'ed up and tries to get back his girlfriend" but the overall stages are absolutely not connected to the others and when it comes to the gameplay there is so much to complain from a technical standpoint and the lack of making it intuitive - as a matter of fact the greatest flaw, that I do not even want to start talking about it. It is funny and should be played once. But it is not worth the 200 bucks that it costs today. But the price is only there for other people to say "oh my god you have this scandalous foul-mouthed and expensive game" anyway not because it is the non plus ultra of gaming. If you want it because you want a good N64 game better buy something else like Zelda or Mario games or one of the many other better working games on the system.

    The description of some people here in the ratings definitely does not suit the game. Not because I cannot accept opinions but because of what the game factually is and how certain words are defined. E.g. you would have to play really badly programmed games to say this game has great controls. And I must know it since I am a computer scientist AND am playing games for about 25 years.    … Expand

Controls are a mess: Conker can’t walk , much less run, in a straight line. Platforming is a mess, targeting is a mess, swimming/diving is a mess. The camera issue: Oh my God!!     The game is so stupid it's great, and the care to recreating pop culture scenes, such as The Matrix & storming the beach of Normandy in videogame format is pretty cool.

    Outstanding game that does’nt play it „safe“. The storyline is really stupid but in a good way. The characters are fun to interact with and have unique personalities. The soundtrack bangs (as always).

    Can’t really give this a 10 because this is a really hard game (mostly due to the horrible controls). Even entering the cheat code for the „very easy“ mode did basically nothing.

    This game is the funniest thing I've ever played, the game has something new around every single corner, for 2/3 of the game it is peak 3D platforming, up there with Mario Odyssey and Banjo Kazooie for me, it's that last third of the game that holds it back a bit, but the humour is still there in that section. The game is not easy, as it may seem in the first challenges. Many times I was led to give up a stage for two or three days until I felt able to try again.     One of the first mainstream games to be aimed at mature audiences in that it contains "adult" - which invariably actually means "extremely juvenile" - humour. Technically, it's very proficient because it's essentially Banjo Kazooie with some infuriating and unnecessarily tricky sections and unskippable, unfunny cut scenes. If you have the patience to tolerate that, there's actually aOne of the first mainstream games to be aimed at mature audiences in that it contains "adult" - which invariably actually means "extremely juvenile" - humour. Technically, it's very proficient because it's essentially Banjo Kazooie with some infuriating and unnecessarily tricky sections and unskippable, unfunny cut scenes. If you have the patience to tolerate that, there's actually a varied and inventive game lurking in here that's probably best played in company as a party game because it's so deliberately low brow.… Expand

    One of my all time favorite games i've ever played. It is extremely charming and VERY funny through out. It can be very dark and straight up savage but in the best way. I wish this game got the sequel the creator envisioned. A dang shame. The multiplayer in the N64 version is straight up some of the BEST I have ever played and I'm not a big multiplayer gamer. I guarantee me and my cousinOne of my all time favorite games i've ever played. It is extremely charming and VERY funny through out. It can be very dark and straight up savage but in the best way. I wish this game got the sequel the creator envisioned. A dang shame. The multiplayer in the N64 version is straight up some of the BEST I have ever played and I'm not a big multiplayer gamer.     Pro: Crazy Variety! One minute you’re surfing on lava, the next you’re fighting Zombies in a graveyard. All without too much complexity in the controls.
    Pro: Great presentation all around: Obviously this game is old as hell now, but it looks great for N64 and the soundtrack and voice acting are both awesome for the era.
    Con: Several overly-tricky spots: The bunker escape with extremely difficult laser traps is very frustrating, also the sewer swimming area and the Bull boss.
    Con: The story mode eventually gets too linear: the game starts out feeling a bit open-world and ends feeling like you're running from cutscene to cutscene.
    Pro: Surprisingly good multiplayer, would be nice to see more levels for the better multiplayer games.
    Con: Not all of the humour hits home - for some it will be the sexist stuff, for some it might be the potty jokes - for me it’s the violence, Conker’s reaction to random “nice” characters dying is almost sadistic.

    Replay value:
    It's short and sweet, I probably spent 25 hours or so trying to beat the story. I’d say the overall replay value on Conker is “ok”, there’s the money collectibles to pick up but not a lot else unless you have a friend that’s up for the multiplayer. Challenge level is very high later in the single player mode.

    Dollar Value: I'd pay around $40 Canadian ($30 US as of this writing), used copies are going for way more than that, so I suggest trying to find Rare Replay for Xbox.    … Expand

    Honestly i love this game it's a fun cluster of absolute madness.
    Back in the day it's maturity level was really high but now it's tolerable like doom.
    Now the blood/"gore" level is tolerable. (Nothing uncomfortable) Also the sexual refences are really funny but can be a little repetitive at times.     Contrario a lo que la mayoría opina, no me parece que este juego sea una joya incomprendida. Entiendo que sus toques de humor negro y parodia hayan sido una revolución en la época, pero a nivel jugable realmente no tiene nada para ofrecer que no hagan otros exponentes del género. Lo que si, al ser un juego de la antigua Rare, se lo nota muy bien pulido.

    It is a short game all things considered, but that doesn't makes this game bad, since the game lack of variety of gameplay would make a longer version of this game a very repetitive one.
    i can't imagine the n64 without this game, not because is edgy and gory, or cuz there are film references here and there. But because this game is really well paced and cutscenes never felt extra.

    This was one of my favorite games as a kid and while the story still holds up well and the dialogue had some incredibly well delivered and nostalgia inducing lines, the controls and camera are really difficult to go back to. I tried the Rare Replay Xbox version as well and the camera is still really difficult compared to modern games (which may be an unfair comparison).    8/21/21-9/4/21

    I was ready to give this a perfect score after I heard the first lines spoken in the game, but after accidently falling off of Bat's Tower and having to climb all the way back up or getting through the brutal fan blade section only to realize I needed to have more money an would have to do it all over again, I was really frustrated. Game designers of yore did not give a care whether or not you had fun or got upset. Don't agree? Just wait until the final boss battle. I struggled with it as a kid and twenty years of playing video games did not make it any easier.

    All that aside, I would still recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it because it is an extremely funny classic of a game. Just know what you are getting in to if you revisit it like I did. I'm going to try the Live and Reloaded version as well, hopefully I won't have the same concerns.    … Expand

    I've never played this game in all my life, but after seeing the cutscenes, THIS GAME IS AMAZING (and I love to see a squirrel destroy enemies. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!) Anyways, this game is great and if you have the time, buy it! Also, the haters in the negative section are nothing but low lifes and pathetic fools that know nothing. AND I MEAN NOTHING! Or because theIf it wasn't for the sometimes incredibly frustrating controls and camera, I'd give this game a 9. So let's get that out of the way to begin with. You will fall to your death hundreds of times. And often not because you did something stupid yourself. No, because the game gave you no sense of depth when the game demands a pinpoint landing on top of a platform in mid-air. Or because the camera often suddenly decides to take a 90 degree turn while you are crawling on a ledge making you suddenly jump off just like that... And there's just no worse feeling than battling a games camera and controls, especially when you are playing a platformer.

    Ok, so if you can get past that without destroying your controller (I almost did several times) you will have one helluwa ride. The game has so many neat little details and the diversity of gameplay is unmatched, even in most games of today (2020). The potty humor is right up my alley. The cutscenes are entertatining so say the least. And you haven't lived until you've seen a giant opera-singing poop-monster.

    And make no mistake. This is not a game for kids. There's not only a lot of bad language and blood. There's also... Um... Things or a more erotic nature.

    Graphics are cutesy in the best way. Well-animated characters all around. Sound and music is just brilliant! I love the poop song. I know, I know... But, I really do.    … Expand

    My personal favorite N64 game. The writing was hilarious, the production values are some of the best on the N64, and I don't get sick of replaying it, even if a piece of the game is a shooter.

    Turns out, a lot.    OK let's start with the positive: This game has got the be the funniest game on the N64. Back in the day when it came out, it was unthinkable to have such a grown-up game with raunchy, adult humor on a Nintendo console. And the whole thing was developed by Rare, who had their golden age on the Nintendo 64 and were the very best developer around. So what could go wrong?

    Turns out, a lot. I picked this game up again yesterday after not having played it for probably 16 years. It was mentioned in a Youtube Video and I actually had very fond memories of it. So I started playing and was delighted at the humor in the cutscenes, the characters, and the pop culture references, many of which I didn't get back then at age 11 when I first played it.

    But soon enough, other memories also resurfaced: Unbearable frustration, me throwing my N64 controller across the room and totally freaking out at the game. And now, I can confidently say; that rage was not just me as an 11-year old not having the experience and skill to master a hard game. That rage was completely justified because this game is hard for ALL THE WRONG REASONS.

    You never know if your jumps are gonna land where you want them to, which is the death-sentence for any platforming game. But it's not just the platforming, every game mechanic is absolute sheet. Aiming with the slingshot is completely unintuitive. Underwater levels are hell on earth because you become disoriented within seconds thanks to the lousy camera. You can theoretically control the camera with the C-buttons, but good luck with that!

    Other mechanics only appear once or really infrequently. For example, there are sections where Conker gets drunk, has to piss on certain things/enemies and then gets hung-over after a while. Then you have to walk to a first aid box and pop an Alka Seltzer before you can move normally again (and return to the beer keg to get drunk again, because you probably have not finished what you need to do in one go-around). My questions: WHY is the first aid box located at the other end of the room? WHY does Conker have to walk so unbearably slow when hung-over, sometimes while there are other enemies around, whose attacks you have NO CHANCE of avoiding in this state? WHY does Conker have to come to a standstill every two meters to puke? Why even have the hung-over state at all if all it does is annoy players and drag the game out? WHY,WHY,WHY. Why a lot of things. Why is the move set so limited compared to Rare games that came out before, like Banjo-Kazooie? Why do you take fall damage even from ridiculously low heights? Even though I know exactly what the game wants me to do, I just cannot accomplish it and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong because things just don't work as you would expect? (Thinking of the caveman disco here)

    Frankly, the game is just not fun. And like Reggie said: "If the game's not fun, why bother?" Which is a downright shame, because the cutscenes (and the characters in them) are A LOT of fun, but the gameplay in between is mediocre at best and unnerving, frustrating, unfair and completely defect at worst. Seems to me like all the resources, ideas and energy were put into the jokes, and the game is just a hastily put-together vehicle for them.

    If you are like me and you have fond memories of this game and want to revisit them by digging up your N64 and popping this cartridge in: Don't. Keep your fond memories. Watch a cutscenes supercut on Youtube, but don't give yourself the torture of actually playing this.    … Expand

    For a Nintendo 64 game this is very impressive! Cramming all of these incredible graphics and sounds on a Nintendo 64 cartridge is nothing to laugh about! The graphics are a bit dated by today's standards but for a Nintendo 64 game it is great this could easily pass as a gamecube or ps2 game.
    And the gameplay is amazing one of the most fun games I've ever played in my entire life and not    For a Nintendo 64 game this is very impressive! Cramming all of these incredible graphics and sounds on a Nintendo 64 cartridge is nothing to laugh about!     It could be superb without cursing and several boob references. I didn't find one inseparable and noninterchangeable swear. Meaning it could've gotten a lot more respect and appreciation. They just should've added a gore-off button and that's it.

    Conker's is a mix of all possible genres and mainstream parodies topped with crazy "let's-cut-it" ending. It's unique and unnecessarily gross.    It could be superb without cursing and several boob references. I didn't find one inseparable and noninterchangeable swear. Meaning it could've gotten a lot more respect and appreciation. They just should've added a gore-off button and that's it.

    Conker's is a mix of all possible genres and mainstream parodies topped with crazy "let's-cut-it" ending. It's unique and unnecessarily gross. It's fun and diverse. It's artificially difficult at times. Mostly because of the random camera switches.

    All in all a good game with graphics one generation ahead for those adults who wants to remember its childhood without getting childish.    … Expand

    This game stands the test of time. It's still enjoyable and very fun to play. The jokes are really funny and unlike anything you'll ever see in another Nintendo 64 game. Rare really used every trick to do the best graphics on the system for this game and it also has a great soundtrack which helps the atmosphere. I give this game a 9/10.

    When Rare was still doing original masterpieces. Best game on the N64. With humor in the cutscenes, very entertaining.
    If that was not enough, add to that the multiplayer which even in offline mode at that time had great multiple-hour fun playing with a friend.

    Overall, maybe if I had played this as a kid when it first came out I'd love it just as well as most everybody else. The story and jokes are still good. If only everything else didn't get in the way.    … Expand

    In 2001, before motion control sports and childhood-ruining third installments, Rare was making a killing off of developing games for Nintendo. One of these games released during this time period was Twelve Tales: Conker 64...At least, that was what it was called...in 1998. Now entitled Conker's Bad Fur day, this was a Nintendo 64 game that sold poorly, likely because it released late into the console's life, and other reasons, which I'll get to in a bit. It was one of the last titles Rare developed for a Nintendo console. So is this the last hurrah of a game company as I knew and loved it, or is this literally a Bad Fur Day?

    One night, Conker is at a bar, intoxicated as you would guess, when he rings up his Lola the Rabbit look-a-like girlfriend Berri. He tells her that he'll be home soon but he goes in the wrong direction, not because he forgot the way but because he's drunk as hell, and ends up in the kingdom of the Panther king. We then see said Panther king drinking milk when his table breaks, spilling his milk. He then orders his local scientist, Professor Von Kriplespac, to fix the table and they devise a plan to capture Conker and use him to hold up the table. The plot is ridiculous and funny...until it becomes 1% less funny when Berri gets kidnapped. Gotta fill the cliché bar, eh guys?

    This game looks really damn good for an N64 game. Of course the graphics have aged slightly, but it still has a nice look to it. The animations are surprisingly detailed, if a bit stiff, and the environments don't look too shabby. The soundtrack is great. My favorites have to be Windy and Co., Rock Solid, and, of course, The Great Mighty Poo's Opera. What's REALLY impressive is how they fit a busload of voice acting into a cartridge! A CARTRIDGE!!!!

    The gameplay, however, is what docks this game some points. It's your typical platformer affair. You can run, jump, and kill enemies. There are also some puzzles which are...okay. They are often creative and yield some VERY hilarious results, but they take a large amount of trial and error. The game features an overworld where you can transition from one level to another, although many are initially blocked off until Conker earns a certain amount of cash. Yes, in this game, you're main and really only collectable is cash. You can earn cash from beating puzzles or levels. Almost all the levels parody some sort of movie such as Terminator, Terminator 2, Jaws, The Matrix, Saving Privet Ryan, and even Ridley Scott's Alien. The controls work well enough, but jumping is slightly delayed which can often be frustrating. What I REALLY hate is the slowdown. Sometimes, the game can slow down to about 15 to 24 frames per second. Does it ruin the game? No, but once I noticed it, it was hard to un-notice it.

    Overall, Conker's Bad Fur Day is a DELIGHTFUL platformer. That really stands on its own. While it has some issues, You are almost guaranteed a good time. The original game is somewhat of a rarity, and while there has been a remake for the original Xbox, you're best bet is to play this using the Rare Replay compilation for the Xbox One. jetpacks and Butlers, here we come.    … Expand

    This game is weird. I loved the characters, the world and the dialogue. But nothing in the single-player game was... fun. Playing this game was like doing chores to get to the next cutscene. Watching someone else play through this game on YouTube ended up being more enjoyable than playing it myself.

    This is what a real adult game looks like! It is smart, hilarious, crude and full of wonder. With most games I know exactly what to expect from the very beginning, but Conker didn't stop surprising me till the very end.

    Conker. WHERE TO BEGIN! This game has great controls. The game is very funny and has a good amount of variety. The characters are creative and funny. The plot is laughable. The game is very fun. Well it's not my favorite game of all time but it's up there. This game is the best Rareware game besides Banjo-Kazooie. I 100% recommend this funny game!

    This game... wow. Just wow. It's without a doubt one of the best platformers on the N64. Like games with crude humor, sexual innuendo, amazing graphics, and hilarious stories? Well then you're gonna love this one. However, this is a hard game. Some moments can be a tiny bit frustrating. However, this is Rareware at it's best.

    I loved this game. The graphics are not the best (DK64 and BanjoTooie are better in that aspect), but is a minor flaw. This game have one of the best multiplayers for N64, also the humor is soooo funny. You cant find a game with this plus nowdays. This game is a gem. Get it or at least play it in a emulator.

Conker the Squirrel is a brilliant protagonist, despite being an alcoholic, foul mannered, stereotypical and anthropomorphic... squirrel. The voice acting is so terrible, it's brilliant, because it really makes the player laugh out loud from the ridiculous sound and how well it fits in with the humour of the game. Moreover, the bosses are very inventive, and the game has one of the most hilarious and one of the best bosses ever: A giant, British, opera-singing turd! And honestly, the game is packed to the brim with movie references, from the Terminator Haystack, to the Xenomorph fight, you can't get any more vulgarity and hilarity than in this masterpiece, a masterpiece that wasn't commercially successful for 2 reasons: It's meant for an adult audience, which meant limited advertising, and it was released in the N64's last days. Still, 13 years on, the game is, in no way, outdated.… Expand

    This game cracked me up just five minutes in. It's so endearing and amazing; Conker and the various NPCs throughout the game are funny, many moments are downright memorable, and, better yet, the game plays well. Between this and Banjo-Kazooie, I can't say which one is the better 3D platformer.

    This game has Soul. If you look up soul in the dictionary, Conker's Bad Fur Day will be right next to it. The game looks the best out of any N64 game. The soundtrack is amazing. The characters are all original and memorable. Its is a masterpiece. The gameplay is great, but not revolutionary. It is the only thing that barely holds it back from perfection. My score is 9.7/10.

The parodies added a special fun twist to it as well. Many people thought it was too immature, but the game was intended to be that way, and that is what makes it a funny adventure. I can only think of three minimal flaws with it. One, the gameplay is rather limited. I can probably beat the game in a week if I played it through again. Two, the chapter "It's War" kinda sucked and was impatiently frustrating. Finally three, what is with the price! As of this review, it costs $50! That is how much a new game is today! The main reason it is that high though is because it's relatively rare, (50,000 copies) and it is in very high demand. Despite its price tag, Conker is a must for any Nintendo 64 collection! I really hope they make an amazing sequel, but it seem to go that direction considering the hated remake they made and the ending to this one.… Expand

    I remember playing this splitscreen with four of my mates and what a brilliant time we had. It just so much fun you cant get bored. Who wouldnt enjoy playing as a teddy bear shooting the hell out of a squirrel or even the other way around? It just such a fun game and alot of people and myself would recommend this to anyone.

    One of the most obnoxious, insulting and utterly wonderful games in history. This is a gem made out of filth, it has none of the politically correct trash of other games but has all the insanity of them. This is one game that would do well it being remade, and it has. Look for Conker: Live & Reloaded for the original Xbox.

    Though it sounds more adult than any N64 game I've ever played, the biggest aspect of the game is how beautiful it looks. Pros: Amazing graphics for the N64; fantastic audio; stellar single-player adventure and multi-player mode; the adult humor is far from charming, but you'll certainly laugh your ass off at it; unforgettable boss battle and soundtrack.     I need to tell you a back story of how I got this game. When this game came out, I was about five. When I turned 13, I went to a family reunion on the hottest day of the year! My cousin walked up to me and gave me the cartridge to this game. He said, "I guess you're old enough, don't you think? Just keep it safe and make sure your mother doesn't catch you playing it!" He was moving to a new college campus where his roommate had an XBOX 360, so he sold his console and his games, except for that one, which he gave to me fo' free!

    Now to the actual game: It was both nothing I expected and exactly what I wanted to play. Now, depending on your point of view, this game was widely irresponsible, or totally freaking awesome! This game has a surprising amount of gameplay, very funny and satirical jokes, is scary at times, bloody and violent, and has many obscure movie references, everything a thirteen year-old boy would want! This was from one of the game companies that controlled my childhood, RARE-WARE. I played their Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, and their Diddy Kong racing games. Who would have thought the people who made my favorite childish and cutsie platformers made THIS game! I guess they wanted a laugh as much as I did.     Wow. Whoever said this game sucks has no sense of humor and can't detect an amazing game. Every game doesn't have to be a mindless shooter. This game brings what the N64 did best- 3D platforming to it's greatest. It's also a long experience, because the game is about 7 hours long and it has a deep multiplayer. A 10 isn't enough to explain this game.

    OK, Conker is a good game, actually!Sure it got curses, sexual themes(not that much),a bit bloody violence, a lot of f*****g toilet humor, that makes me sick!Whatever the funny gameplay is filled with film parodies, the M content and FUNNY SONGS(the Great Mighty Poo!).CBFD is a good game and a must-have not only for the N64, but for any console!!

It is now November 2008- my personal opinion is that parts of this game are too difficult, most notably the Terminator-style boss and meeting the Tediz. Banjo Kazooie still remains a more magical game to me but Conker's Bad Fur Day still took a distinct direction- keeping it simple There weren't many shades of grey for this game ratings, aren't they?     This is the best game ever. It has the best multiplayer ever and the best story mode its better than most movies. I got live and reloaded but its multiplayer sucks ass. The story mode is good but it just doesnt seem quite the same as bad fur day.

    Wow, greatest game EVA! I'm only 14 and found it quite entertaining. Oh, and to the guy that gave it a 0, why'd you buy it? You sound like a little boy. Anyway, its great. 'Nuff said. It would've been nice if it were longer though. I hope they make a sequel.

    You will almost never get tired of playing Conker, as there are few tedious spots in the game. BFD terrifically spoofs such movies as "The Matrix," "Saving Private Ryan," "A Clockwork Orange," "The Untouchables," "Alien," "Star Wars," "Dr. Strangelove," and more.
