Challenging but fun for the most part. Some parts were very twitchy and not what I wanted, but most of it was a fair challenge. You can beat it in less than 3 hours, even if you die hundreds of times because the reloads take less than one second.

Although this is an excellent game, the controls are not fit for precise play and result in many frustrating deaths. If possible, try to buy this for the computer.

An amazing, amazing experience. Excellent soundtrack, fun and challenging levels, a quirky cast of characters, but the real element was the gameplay. Simple touch-and-drag controls make this a real delight. Overall, a real experience.

Hopefully you will have the same experience I did with this game, because for me this is the definitive iOS app. Have fun. :) Expand

There's only one real word for this game: CHALLENGING. I had a lot of fun with this game, but I, like probably everyone else who's played this, raged a LOT while trying to get through it. Firstly, the controls: they're not exactly tight, but it does add to the challenge. Flipping gravity is real tight, however; there's no real delay when you land from flipping, so right as you land you can flip immediately after, which I liked. Second; the story, which honestly, since it's entirely told through dialogue and you can swiftly skip all the dialogue, I don't remember, for that exact reason; I'd skipped all the dialogue. Roughly, six little travelers get stranded when their ship crashes, and you, the captain, have t find your crew members. The difficulty now? VERY tough. Again, while I enjoy this game a lot, the difficulty is pretty great, with many obstacles and enemies to overcome. The twenty shiny trinkets add a whole LEVEL of difficulty as well; I've collected them all, but it took a LONG time to get them all. Overall, VVVVVV is a real good game, so I say try it out now! If you've grown up with the one-screen platformers of the 80's this challenge should be right up your alley.

The graphics are crude and reminiscent of Spectrum and C64 games of yore and design inspired by classics such as Jet Set Willy and Manic Miner (complete with whimsical enemies such as flying words and hearts) with a soundtrack (composed by the ever so awesome Magnus 'Souleye' Pålsson) that will have you plunk down 10 bucks immeadiately after hearing the first tune.

    Vvvvvv is awesome.

A great thing about VVVVVV is that it's all about the true platforming gameplay, and though it might be not-so-good visually, the levels are really well designed. In this game you have to think at least a bit, but some quick reflexes are mandatory.

Great game with a nice atmosphere to it and an awesome soundtrack. The controls might seem a bit strange at first but eventually you get used to it. The game does contain additional bonus challenge modes but the story mode could have been a bit longer.

The controls on the mobile version aren't very crisp or spot-on. That part I could live with though... What really got to me was that I couldn't build any levels from inside the app. That was my main reason for buying the game...

One of the most realised 8 bit retro 'feel' games I have played recently. Theres a lot of them, but it feels authentic, not just taking the style of old. modern indie gaming mechanics meets manic miner and chuckie egg. Very fluid with killer 'chip' music that fuses well the gameplay to bring genuine smiles when playing. Very good game. A little hard but I loved it. The soundtrack is incredible. Maybe the controls are not quite good. It´s a classic game and is 100% recommended.

Likely one of if not the best ios game I've played. It has a really long campaign, a perfect balance of difficulty (Unless you like easy games, then this may not be for you) and when ever you have nothing to do, you can just play this game. It doesen't deserve a 10, but I think a 7.1 is pretty low so ill just raise it a bit. Soundtrack is amazing btw.

Love the game only issue is there are bugs in the iPad version which make certain parts of the game unbeatable like watch it bend on new dimension fix that sh*t

This great retro platform game works great also with a touch screen, thanks to perfectly calibrated controls.

One of the best parts of VVVVVV is that is focuses on the core platforming gameplay above all else, and while it might not be beautiful visually, the level design is beautifully constructed. The gravity component keeps things fresh, so that you have to think a little too while using some quick reflexes.
