Superfrog HD does justice to its Amiga-based ancestor, but the game's virtual controls make it a slippery little critter.

While it will tickle a few nostalgia glands, the dodgy controls and dated gameplay mean Superfrog is better remembered than re-experienced on touchscreen.

The compromised controls don't ruin what is still a fun game to this day, but the lack of precision certainly makes it feel like an inferior port if you have the option to get it on PS3, Vita or PC.

Superfrog HD isn't a bad platformer, but it's not a very good one, either.

An expertly restored Sonic-style platformer that nevertheless feels dated and unfocused next to the sharper examples of the genre.
