Jan 30, 2011It's a competent port though too, with no noticeable technical issues, and the new Splatter Rush Mode adds a nice new twist to the gameplay. If you can deal with the less than ideal controls then you'll find yourself having a pretty good time with this version of Splatterhouse. However, if you've never played Splatterhouse before, I doubt this version will impress you.
-
Jan 30, 2011If you miss 'thwocking' demons and other horrific undead creatures against walls with a sickening thud, then you'll jump in to SPLATTERHOUSE with glee, but it certainly not for everyone.
-
Jan 30, 2011To experience this game in real life, cover your face with a hockey mask, walk to the zoo, and stand helplessly while bears bludgeon you.
-
Jan 30, 2011It really is sad that Splatterhouse did not receive wider recognition during its time, because it was a good game for its time. Hell, probably even a great one. However, really all side-scrolling beat-em-up games boil down to the same essential gameplay mechanics, and this game is those mechanics at their most basic.
-
Jan 30, 2011Splatterhouse is a relic of a bygone era – but there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
-
Jan 30, 2011A true video game nasty in all the wrong ways, Splatterhouse is a poor conversion of a poor game, with shoddy virtual controls, one-dimensional beat-'em-up action and plain bad graphics.
-
Jan 30, 2011The slow tedious gameplay of the arcade mode is even worse when playing the newly introduced splatter rush mode.
