Unfortunately, due to constraints of where and how I can play games, I am limited (mostly) to mobile gaming, which is a very casual (and often unsatisfactory) experience. Usually, that is, because with Shadowrun: Dragonfall, my mobile device finally sees some full-fledged, story-driven, deeply interactive RPG with great characters, a unique setting (2050s Berlin of the cyber-fantasy Shadowrun universe). The missions are varied, the dialogue superbly written, and the scope satisfactorily epic and embedded in the metaplot. Some decisions are very fundamental (specifically in the end game - without giving away any spoilers), and the biggest flaw of the game is that, at the 27 hours it took me to complete, it could be longer.

There are some points of criticism, of course; one of those certainly is the limitation of the combat system, which has great basics but could benefit from more variety, greater choice, better tactical decision making (manual path finding; levels of terrain) and ease of use (switch of view point/zoom factor). But overall, this is one great experience!

This is an altogether greater experience than Shadowrun Returns, and I'm extremely impressed at the improvement on the developer's part.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall is one of the best turn-based RPGs to come to iOS in years.

A brilliantly paced and balanced RPG experience that feels nostalgic and innovative at the same time.
