Game has unrealistic depictions of women in skimpy clothes with huge breasts. MISOGYNIST!

In reality, the game is "functional" but that's about it. The sound is bad, writing is bad and the gameplay is lacklustre at most. I would skip this.

First of all, there is literally no lighting engine, and this is what makes it look so much like Reboot. You know. That one 90s CGI cartoon. Yeah, go google that and tell me that doesn't look exactly like this.

Graphics aside, this is just appalling. "SWIPE THE SCREEN YO". I mean, I know it's an iOS game, but I've seen better iOS games than this, that excuse doesn't cut it anymore. And

The graphic shading is a bit poor, but otherwise passable. It's sluggish performance really lets it down, but it could be my device as well (although probably not likely). The story is ok, but it's not great by any means. It's a pretty poor iOS game, but not by all means the worst iOS game around. It's ok for an iOS game. I'd recommend trying it, but don't have high expectations.

The game has been getting hype and people are scoring it high to bump up the publicity of Brianna Wu, who has been proven to have fake accounts as well so it wouldn't surprise me if all the 10 ratings are her or those rating it high are within her inner circle. Not the way your game should be reviewed but then Wu doesn't follow the rules. The game is absolute trash and needs to be scraped!

Gameplay: Wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Some issues with sluggishness and these wasn't anything new or exciting. The controls suffered slightly from technical limitations. 5/10

Story: This is where I have the BIGGEST problem. I try to leave politics out of games but when a game is as blatantly sexist as this game I cannot let it go. The story was weak at best. And when the game tried to assert of story it was almost always at the objectification of female characters. Honestly, whoever developed this game should be ashamed. 2/10

Normally I would go with an average of all the scores which would be a 4.3 but because I was so offended by it's sexism I'm gonna subtract another 0.5. Hopefully the developer will look into providing more positive female characters in the future.

You can download this free, and pay to unlock the complete game. Which I encourage you to do, if you are interested, because there is no way to express how brutally boring the combat is without a reference to personal experience. The combat sequences are extremely long. You repeat the same finger dances and swipes over and over, doing almost no damage to your opponent, until the pain is over.

Tedious repetition? Sounds like Monster Hunter! Where is that download button! Not so fast, playa! Despite demanding a ridiculous amount of investment with regard to combat, the game pays back nothing. There is no sense of achievement, no meaningful progression. And worst of all, no challenge whatsoever. Put your time in with the swipes and get through to the next conversation tree.

Wrap this all up in graphics from the 64-bit era, and you have yourself something to avoid. At best, video games should be virtual experiences. This is not that. This feels like a paint by numbers graduate project (at least it is graduate level), executed with mediocrity, that borrows heavily from better games.

The combat couldn't possibly be less interesting. It's slow, plodding, and painful. Every enemy feels the same, every fight feels the same. Level up your combat stat to make the torture slightly less drawn out; it's not like you're taking any damage anyway, no need to level up your health.

The art style could have worked... if the artists were competent. This "Stylistic choice" seems to be one made because the designer only knew how to draw in the art style they used in high school, never learning to draw from life.

Story is all it has going for it, and even then it's at about the level of a particularly bad fanfiction. Save yourself the money and watch an Anna Nicole-Smith movie for a better but similar experience.

Although Brianna Wu is not biologically female, I respect her right to call herself female. What I don't respect is dishonest reviews pandering to the SJW crowd praising this game when no real praise should be given. I talking solely by what I've seen/played, my opinion on Brianna are completely seperate. Graphically, the game is something most would expect from an early unfinished PS2 title. The game's budget and engine (Unreal 3) should not reflect this. The game's dialogue is bad, and the voice acting, whilst very poor, isn't the worst I've heard in video games. The gameplay isn't fun, and it's filled with QTE button mashing that many gamers, myself included would like less of in games. The female characters also fit stereotypes that those critical of supposed "sexism in video games" shoud note too.

With that said, is there a positive to the game? I would say yyyyyyyessss... It's quite an achievement to develop your own video game and I would say a small congratulations to Brianna and the team behind it for completing it. Visually it isn't beyond terrible, although inexcusably dated graphically, it does it's job in the sense that it is in fact a video game that will function. Although it's not a very enjoyable experience.

Definitely lacking in terms of the fun factor. Game seems heavily tailored to adolescent males who enjoy games that require almost no skill, also making it suitable for gender confused males with downs syndrome and the average female gamer.

This game also raped Anita Sarkeesian and made Zoe Quinn cry.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the graphics are atrocious, the story is choppy and uninventive and every female presented in the game has completely unrealistic body proportions... How are their waists so small? Did they have their ribs removed?

Wu and her team claimed that she wanted to make a game that would be revolutionary for women in the industry, but I am seeing the opposite in all of the footage that I have viewed, and what little of the game I played in the demo. This game had a $400k budget, spent 4 years in development, a team of developers, used the unreal 3 engine, and got voice actress, Amanda Winn Lee to voice act in this game. As a result, we have a game that sounds, looks, and plays like like a C grade beta test.

But lets compare this to another indie game that is still in development, Yandere Simulator. In comparison, every cent of money used to fund the game comes from Patreon and so far he's earning about 4-5K per month so this games budget is around 48-60K per year. According to sources, Yandere Sim is using a flash/app game engine (the Unity Engine). All of this is being coded by one guy and volunteers. When you look at the updates of Yandere Sim, it actually looks and plays like a nearly finished game.
So yeah, as a woman I feel disrespected if someone who makes games like this tries to represent women in the gaming industry. Many of my other female friends who are also gamers saw this and they thought this was made by a beginner college student. So I want all of the critics to reconsider this game.

    The game flows as thus:

    Quick time event
Walk down a corridor whilst the camera pans down to conveniently centre on the female leads butt
    Scripted Fight scene
    Rinse & Repeat

Literally this entire game can be experienced by playing until you've done a quicktime event, a scripted fight and a hallway cutscene. Nothing new is introduced. If you want to play the game for the story I highly suggest you pick up some games in the Metal Gear Solid series, the series from which this game unashamedly steals plot points. It got to the point where I could predict the game's story because it was becoming uncannily like an MGS game I played earlier, odd that.

The animations are terrible. During a cutscene fight two characters don't even make contact multiple times and you can see clipping on the models during. This doesn't look finished at all.

The voice acting is okay if a bit lifeless. Two of the characters seem to be voiced by the same person which is very jarring.

The quicktime events are a lazy way to attempt to bring challenge into an otherwise stale repetitive game. The quicktime events are repetitive, boring and altogether uninteresting. They do nothing to add to the game and just serve to pad out the areas outside of scripted fights and cutscenes with wasted time.

Finally onto the combat system. It sucks. Really. There's so much room for interesting challenging gameplay within this grid based combat system but instead it comprises simply of the enemy character moving left and right whilst the player moves left and right. You press your attack buttons when the enemy is directly in front of you as firing diagonally doesn't seem to have occurred as an idea to the main character.

The combat is even more severely dried out by the addition of later enemies who restrict movement sometimes down to 3 or 4 squares maximum. This is ridiculous. There is no valuable player choice here, it's simply spam directions in the hope that the poorly telegraphed badly animated attack doesn't touch you.

    In short:
Terrible, terrible game. Don't trust the professional reviews I don't know what's up with them but they surely don't reflect the needs and wants of the consumer.

I suggest playing a game from the MGS series if you want the same kind of storyline without the frankly awful gameplay and animation.

The woman displayed in the game wear skimpy outfits and have unrealistic body proportions which is unfortunate considering the audience its directed at are woman. The game may be harmful to girls given the subject matter on how woman are shown. Frankly I expected better from a feminists developer comprised almost entirely of woman.

The story itself is passable but nothing that has not been explored before in Sc-fi video games. The writing is average at best which tends to drag as the game progresses. Dialog system looks like it was copied from Mass effect, while the game play is a bit clunky that also requires a lot of taping with combat being more of a chore. I am also disappointed that many of the conflicts in the game are solved by violence.

Considering the game as a whole I feel it deserves a 4/10. The game might have been scored higher if not for it blatant sexism and poor representation of woman. I am giving this game a 4.0 marked down slightly for the sexist views presented in the game. Overall this game is uninspired and marginal at best. I can't recommend this game.

The art style is very amateur, featuring character models that make Barbie dolls start questioning body image standards. The animation is choppy, and despite being done in UDK, it looks like a game that could have come out during the 32 bit era.

Second, while I understand the need to keep a product under budget, the voice acting and dialogue was cringe-inducing, and frankly, I found myself honestly wondering: "who honestly talks like this?" It's like someone who knows nothing about writing would come up with, based on fan fiction or something else more amateur. I honestly don't get it.

Third, look, even David Gage's games being heavily based on QTEs are getting old and dated. It's a lazy gimmick that only caters to the lowest common denominator in gaming, and unless you at least have some of David's ability to tell a strong narrative, stop it. Seriously, stop it.

Lastly, if you're going to release marketing blurbs such as: "It's like Heavy Rain meets Mass Effect," I highly recommend you have a credible source for such hyperbole. Moreover, anyone unironically comparing it to NOLF, probably has never played any of the games in that series, and I'd find it a hard time taking that person seriously. Look, if you want your game to do well, you should present it honestly, how it is, then let the market decide if its viable or not. Cloaking a bad game in buzzwords only increases the likelihood of a backlash, once they find out it's simplistic and poorly designed garbage.

So, to summarize, this game is lazy, unimaginative, disingenuous and lacks creative thought and design. I could not honestly recommend it in good faith, and feel like the whole thing needs to go back to the drawing board.

One of my favorite games of al time. It is an indie game, but don't get me wrong, it's not a garbage one like Undertale. The developer overcame the odds and made a landmark achievement in gaming with this one. I can honestly say it is one of the best games of all time!

if you allow me to be fair, the graphics have redeemed this game to a point where it is most heavily reliant on the initial interest the gamer gets upon seeing the game, but when he or she gets to that point, it is sadly all downhill from there. And even then, the entire looks only slightly better than an old Disney cartoon and a Disney cartoon would be more entertaining.

    Gameplay wise,

And even then, the entire looks only slightly better than an old Disney cartoon and a Disney cartoon would be more entertaining.

Gameplay wise, it 'functions'. it just does. And when gameplay only 'functions', you know there is something lacking that fails to captivate the gamer and keep his or her eyes on the screen. A mediocre game keeps you entertained til' you have something better to do, and good games makes you live for it. And sadly, i do not live for this game. it lives, out of the mercy, of our reviews.

The writing is atrocious. A game with good writing can redeem it even with primitive graphics, take "Undertale" as an example. But the writing is just bland. it lacks flavor, it lacks zest. it lacks the ability to keep me interested where it's game play had failed, similar to "Depression Quest"

Over all, this game is, and i say that without the least intent of bias, plain bad. At this point, i suggest the honing and improvement of the developers skills, but when i heard it took a six digit price for production and was a able to scrape a Game of the Year Nomination, i honestly clenched. Wu can do better, i know she can't.

Revolution 60 is a difficult title to recommend if you’re after tight and interesting gameplay. Although the idea behind the game is fantastic, unfortunately the execution leaves a lot to be desired. [Episode 7, September 2014]

Revolution 60 comes with a nice story, characters and dialogues, but fails to deliver in terms of gameplay.

Revolution 60 would make a terrific animated movie, but as a game, I'm left a little cold by it.
