With Nascar: Redline, Eutechnyx reduces high-octane wheel-to-wheel motorsport to a rather uninspiring series of mini-game events sprinkled rather sparsely over a dull race management simulation.

The relationship between player decisions and race results can be hard to determine in NASCAR: Redline, while vestigial in-app purchases put the brakes on what could have been a solid lightweight sim.

Possibly because NASCAR games don't enjoy the same popularity as other sports games, this title attempts to mix things up by turning a racing game into a simulation. But is that a good thing?

If you're looking for a different kind of NASCAR game - one that provides a strategic take on the sport - Redline may well be worth taking for a spin. Otherwise, with its ridiculous paywall system and repetitive gameplay, it may leave you feeling rather flat.

While I might not be a terribly huge fan of NASCAR, I am a big fan of racing games. For the first NASCAR game on iOS devices, this one sorely disappoints. Now, I realize it could be pretty tough to smash in 42 cars on a track on a tiny device, but something with actual racing would have been greatly appreciated.

The strategy goes into a lot of depth making you make the right choices to win races, its an interesting title and a new way of looking at NASCAR games. I've found the more time I give it the more rewarding and enjoyable it is. Full Review »
