Minigore 2: Zombies

When it comes to two-stick action this is as good (or bad) as any. But with its comic style and the sheer amount of enemies it reminds me positively of an isometric Serious Sam.

With the addition of unlockable, upgradeable weapons, consumable abilities, new environments, a huge variety of unique enemies, and the capability of cramming up to 150 baddies on-screen at once, Minigore 2: Zombies is more than just a reskinning of an old classic.

While there's still not a lot of depth to this twin-stick shooter, Minigore 2: Zombies packs the perfect combination of fast-paced and varied action with a cartoonish presentation that's easy on the eyes.

Mountain Sheep scored again, offering a follow-up to its predecessor which will get the desired success without the help of Chillingo.

It's gorgeous, fast-paced, polished to a T and jam-packed with weapons, enemies, playable characters and challenges. It's one of the best action games on the App Store and the new mobile twin-stick shooter gold standard.

One could make the argument that Minigore 2: Zombies has little complexity and not enough weapons, but considering the $1.99 asking price, we think it's full of head-chopping, limb-blasting goodness. Play it to waste time. Play it to beat your high score, or just play it to let off some steam. Just make sure, above all else, that you play it.

Minigore 2: Zombies is a huge improvement over the first episode and stands as one of the best (if not the best) twin analog shooter available on the App Store.

Full of blood and death, Minigore 2: Zombies is a brief blast of gibbet-fuelled fun.
