That's not to say that this version isn't playable, but it's far from ideal. [June 2013, p.85]

It's also still an undeniably good game, and despite awful controls players can still have fun with it. But really, until a developer figures out a better way of adapting the controls to a touchscreen, this version of Metal Slug X should be avoided.

Metal Slug X is a fun shooter with a load of content. The touch screen controls let it down at times, but most of the time they work well enough. I am not sure if Metal Slug X is worth it if you already own Metal Slug 2, and it would have been nice to have it as an IAP upgrade as well. For newcomers to the series this is a perfect start.

In the end, it all comes down to whether you're OK with spending another four bucks to download Metal Slug 2.5. If so, then Metal Slug X will do a fine job putting your shooting skills to the test.

Another addition to a classic gaming series, Metal Slug X is a remake of the original Metal Slug 2 and incorporates some new enemies while maintaining the same classic gameplay.

Unsurprisingly, this Metal Slug 2 remake has all the same strengths and most of the weaknesses - which is to say it's a cracking platform-shooter with iffy virtual controls.
