Maleficent Free Fall does present one interesting idea: Power-up fuel is drawn from a well of magic that replenishes after levels. Alas, spells require a great deal of magic to perform, and your resources refill slowly.

All they did here was just re-skin their Frozen Free Fall game, so not only does that mean that there is yet another free to play, match 3 orAll they did here was just re-skin their Frozen Free Fall game, so not only does that mean that there is yet another free to play, match 3 or more style puzzler out there, it also means that another big Disney movie gets a lazy tie-in game. As I always say there is nothing fundamentally wrong with this style of gameplay. The issue is that there are just so many of these types of games out there that there isn't a reason to give this one any attention.

Outside of the blatant attempts the game makes at getting it's hands in your wallet, there's nothing about the game that I would consider genuinely bad. It's gameplay works and the characters from the movie that are in the background are incredibly well animated and good-looking for a mobile game. Yet the only reason I would recommend this game is if you haven't played a match 3 or more style puzzler before, and odds are you have many times over.

So go ahead and pass on this one. It's really got nothing going for it outside of sharing a face with what looks like is going to be a great movie. It did remind me about the upcoming movie and got me pretty pumped for it, so I guess it wasn't a total waste of time. It's just a shame that Disney was so lazy yet again. I expect more from them.
