If you can look past the visuals though, and are looking to take a break from Hearthstone, Mabinogi Duel is the game for you.

A simple but quite enjoyable, fast-paced card game. [02/2016, p.66]

I'm playing it for almost 2 months now, and I don't have a good impression about it.
I'm coming from other games like Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh! and hearthstone, and I have tested many other CCG in recent years.

The core game is very solid, don't have the problems that made me stop play hearthstone , it is not a RNG based game, and is fair with free to play players.

But the game has some profound and serious problems that hinders it from to be a great game.

    - The interface in the duels, the main thing in the game, it have a serious lacking of polishing, beauty and practicality. All this "16 bit art style" make the game ugly, that moving scenario, the many messages that appear, the narrator, etc..
-The over-use of AI, they have to start to put all this AI aside and start focusing in PvP missions.
    - The developers are focusing in throwing cards and more cards in the game, this is very very wrong. Quality over quantity is the right choice.
    - The game is utterly unbalanced, some cards are just too powerful.
    - The mutant cards are a awful concept, you create just an ocean of duplicated cards and enhance the unbalance in the game. It increments the profound problems in the game.

This game is huge, many many new things to the genre, great concept and all, but the path they have chosen will lead them to have just a generic card game in hands.
