Simple and classic like a fable, Little Briar Rose is a good example of "point and click" adventure with a twist, along with beautiful art and smooth, although a little predictable, puzzle design.

Little Briar Rose feels like a game that would be perfect for someone who has not played an adventure game before. It has pretty standard mechanics, a very simple story, and it's contained design make it easy to get through in a sitting or two. While it has a neat idea or two in it, most of Little Briar Rose focuses on being simple and beautiful, just like a stained glass window.

You play as the prince who travels through an enchanted forest. Your duty is to help the inhabitants with their problems and open the thorny path leading to the castle. Even though the main events follow the classic fairy tale, the game recreates a colorful world inside the forest full of funny and lively mythical creatures (gnomes, tritons, goblins, etc.).
The gameplay also adds a touch of roguelike mechanics: every time you fail in your quest the prince will
turn into one of the creatures of the forest and another prince will take his place (and his items). Every prince has different color and appearance.
Little Briar Rose is rich of puzzles and minigames (even to unlock hints!) and although they are not so challenging, I would recommend the game for everyone: players new to the point-and-click genre and old players that can find the stained glass graphic, jokes and the roguelike feature quite funny, unique and innovative.
