Mar 8, 2012Players who enjoy bright, neon graphics with a retro feel will love the look of Lightopus and players looking for a challenging but satisfying experience will not be disappointed.
-
Apr 2, 2012It is surprisingly relaxing and enjoyable for such a simple game. Lightopus at only a few dollars, is well worth a try.
-
Mar 13, 2012An innovative and invigorating twist of Snake's tail, Lightopus is a beautifully conceived and executed adventure.
-
Mar 13, 2012Lightopus is visually intriguing and aurally relaxing, as you swim around protecting your babies, and having them feed on your enemies. A unique experience.
-
Mar 15, 2012Featuring great neon visuals, fluid controls, a soothing soundtrack, and enjoyable gameplay, Lightopus is a high-quality game whose only fault is failing to convey its purpose clearly.
-
Mar 17, 2012None of Lightopus's flaws break the game, but the care that went into its watery neon environments make the game's imperfections stand out with particular garishness. If nothing else, though, Lightopus is a treat to look at and listen to, and it is enormously satisfying to watch a swarm of Bulbies decimate your enemies. Creatures of the Abyss, beware the glowing tadpoles.
-
Mar 8, 2012What ultimately holds Lightopus back is the lack of any real growth or development. What you're doing in Level 1 is the exact same thing you're doing in Level 20, but with more enemies onscreen. It's the same thing every single stage, and even though it's fun for a little while, the mechanics and gameplay aren't engrossing enough to stand on their own for an extended period of time.
