This is the usual fare for card collecting games - it does start of with a quite interesting premise and there is the usual ranked cards and battle teams. It is as the critic review says, a bit of a struggle to open up the features such as dungeon and clans and there id where I felt the problems start.

The game really requires that the players need a goodly collection of 4* and 5* for success - how often I got taken to the cleaners in the arena as a maxed out (level 10) 5* card carved a hole in my collection of 3 and 4* cards (some maxed too) and could see no way to overcome this, except by joining in the Armageddon of ploughing lots of money into the game for very little reward.
I do not mind the principle of IAP and have probably spent more than I think is healthy over the last few years but this game seems to be enticing the players to dig deep to dominate - if that is what you want then fine go for it!
So in conclusion a nice bit of fun for a while and if you want to just spend some time unlocking zones and very slowly collecting monsters then go ahead and you need not spend a dime, but if you want to be serious then beware the frequency of the really good cards is low on purchases and you may find yourself getting carried away with your spending.

The interface is a little clunky, the two-dimensional characters are sappy, and it takes a little while to get to The Good Stuff, but none of that's kept me from thoroughly enjoying Lies of Astaroth's spin on card battles.
