Kids vs. Goblins is a Dutch roleplaying game for the iPad that starts of nicely, takes a more average turn later on but eventually leaves a strong impression with varying challenges and the strategic use of spells.

While the game's structure and stance system make Kids vs. Goblins somewhat interesting, the overall lack of control is frustrating. Too much, it gives the sensation that I'm just here to watch the proceedings, not to actually interact, and in a strategy game, that lack of command makes this hard to recommend.

Kids vs Goblins provides an alternative to those who are tired of needing to learn multiple RPG class types, earn powerful items or learn complex boss patterns - when this game works it's a treat, but initial release issues hamper an otherwise fun new take on the genre.

A nice icebreaker for RPG noobs, but this short-lived fairytale will leave experts looking for other page-turners.

Mixing action and role-playing elements into bite-sized combat chunks, Kids vs Goblins loses ground thanks to a lack of some basic camera controls, glitches, and a lot of repetition.
