    The app emulates the game perfectly so how good or bad the app is will be based on how the good game or bad the board game is. The game is 7.52 on BGG but there is no way this game is more fun an experience then Splendor, Century Spice Road, Santorini, Splendor, Ticket to Ride, Isle of Skye, Sushi Go Party, San Juan, etc. it's a 2-player abstract    This is for the Android version.

    The game is 7.52 on BGG but there is no way this game is more fun an experience then Splendor, Century Spice Road, Santorini, Splendor, Ticket to Ride, Isle of Skye, Sushi Go Party, San Juan, etc. it's a 2-player abstract game, and even well done, those are 6.8-7.2 which is where I would put it: 7.

    I don't love the game as much as others and I don't want to play it 100 times which I would have to do to finish the campaign mode. There is a lot of luck involved. I managed to beat the game at highest AI opponent difficulty at the Standard, no point variation, and 5-player max rules. I did not beat the opponent 2-3 or 3-5 and am completely unmotivated to do so. If I have a 40% of winning versus the AI opponenr then I would do it eventually but that is more of a chore than fun.

    Why isn't it fun? 1. I don't know how well I'm doing with the hidden scoring. I initially thought this was good to counter AP but players should have an idea with how they are doing without memorizing. 2. The use of camels is not intuitive or found in other games so it is an unnatural mechanic (like bidding in Isle of Skye) that people have to learn which is slightly off-putting. 3. There is a lot of luck in the game. This is bad if your an expert and want to win consistently but good if you are a mid-level player and want to beat an expert. However, the amount luck makes a player feel he does not have control, and this is just what is happening and you are making the best out of bad decisions. In other games, it might be tense. Here, I often do not care. 4. Like blackjack, there is likely a straightforward optimum strategy versus other games which might have multiple paths or whose optimum strategy is complex, and once one finds that or approaches it, the game becomes repetitive. 5. When you approach the optimum strategy, there is not much left to do, as there is in other games: explore what cards do or different strategies.

    It is a solid 7 of a game but if you are looking for the amount of fun many 7.3 to 7.6 BBG-rated games have, you will be disappointed.

    It seems surprising that Asmodee chose to resurrect a title that was nearly 10 years old for a mobile release. After playing it, the reason is clear: it's a great fit for the platform. And it's a game that was perhaps unfairly forgotten after its original release. A slew of minor niggles keep the game from greatness, but it's fast and fun. I'm glad I got the chance to play a game I might otherwise not have heard of. Perhaps tabletop game archival is the next big direction for app store games?

    Jaipur isn't a hugely complicated card game, but there's enough to it that makes it feel strategically satisfying when you play. When you combine that with a healthy multiplayer community and an unexpected amount of modes, there's a lot to like about Jaipur. This is definitely a card game worth picking up.

    The menus may not look like much, but Jaipur is a great port of a fun game. The tutorial isn’t useless, the game itself is enjoyable, there are several different options when it comes to how you want to play. I can’t stress enough just how nice it is to play a board game conversion that actually understands how sometimes a basic 1:1 port just doesn’t cut it. This is good stuff, and you should play it if you like board games – digital or otherwise.
