Gunstar Heroes is a classic, and one of my favorite Genesis/Mega Drive era games. It's awesome to have a version of this on the go on mobile devices.

The touch-screen controls certainly leave a lot to be desired; in fact, it's darn near unplayable. But, the game has full controller support, which I heavily recommend. I did my playthrough on the Backbone control pad, and it handled like a dream. Absolutely no complaints from me.

Overall, Gunstar Heroes was a pretty good experience for me. It does a fairly good job of keeping itself fresh without losing its authenticity. While there are definite places in which it can improve, I think it's a great time-passer and is a good addition to anyone's app collection.

Another Genesis game brought to iOS by Sega, but its twitch-based gameplay often falters on the platform with its controls.

A true platforming classic and having a version you can play on the go is great, but the controls leave a lot to be desired.
