Fruit Ninja 2 doesn’t reinvent the apple-slicing wheel, but what did you expect? It does everything you want it to do and a little bit more. This is pretty much the perfect mobile arcade experience.

Seems like a blast from the past, but its structure is almost eternal, so it's simply not aged at all. The question is: after all these years, is there still the will to cut fruits?

The mission mode and extra features make this feel like there is more to the game, but you will notice that you aren’t able to select what type of game you want to play most of the time. I enjoy playing classic mode and zen mode sometimes, but most of the time I am always wanting to play arcade mode. This game has arcade mode, but you can only play it when it’s available. And sometimes it’s only available for play with tickets, which can definitely feel like an annoyance or microtransaction. If you play the game enough you can amass quite a few tickets, as I have. But I enjoy playing whatever mode I want, on my own time. And the first fruit ninja does that better. The amount of different blades is pretty cool and they’re pretty easy to unlock (easier than in the first game it seems), but I don’t like not being able to customize my dojo like I did in the first game. All in all, it’s definitely good, and I plan to stay with playing it. But there are some flaws that keep this from being better than the first one overall, despite seeming like it has way more to offer initially. Full Review »
