The Gungeon has become a paradox and is collapsing! Blessed by the magic of the Sorceress, your gun will change rapidly as you ascend the Gungeon. The better you play, and the higher your combo, the more powerful the form your gun will take.

Battle against the last and most bitter of the Gundead at a frantic pace, slowing down just long enough to chat with some familiar faces and a few new ones. Shifting rooms, enemies, bosses, bizarre weapons and items all combine to ensure that no two attempts to Exit the Gungeon are the same.

Exit the Gungeon is a frantic, (very) challenging action shooter with nice pixel art graphics and a good replayability value.

Exit the Gungeon is an interesting experiment and a clever way to keep the series going without copying what's already been done; but along the path to mobile, some crucial elements of the DNA of the franchise were lost. I'll still be following it through its post-launch journey, however, and Gungeon fanatics will find plenty of references to smile at.

When played with a controller, Exit the Gungeon feels like one of the few games on the new service that proves that an iOS device can bridge the gap between experiences on a mobile device and the ones I regularly enjoy on my PC and Switch. Let’s hope this is the beginning of a trend.

Runs are a bit faster, and the game seems a bit easier due to the dodge roll being a bit more generous. The only problem I have with this game is that it gets a bit repetitive, due to the rooms not being as diversified as in the first game.

Controls work well, especially on touchscreen.
