    Despite the monetization method, Dr. Mario World is a fun puzzle game, and the World moniker signifies that this is more than just another Dr. Mario remix. This is the most dramatic reinvention of Dr. Mario since the series’ inception, and I often had trouble putting my phone down before the battery ran dry. Nintendo plans to update this game with new levels down the road, so this is one flu season I look forward to revisiting.

    Dr. Mario World is another solid entry in Nintendo’s mobile lineup. I was concerned that Dr. Mario World wouldn’t do enough to differentiate itself from the plethora of match-3 games on the market. However, its blend of classic Dr. Mario gameplay and new mechanics keeps things feeling fresh. I’ll certainly be playing this for a while to come. Maybe I’ll run into you on the battlefield!

    With Dr. Mario World, a larger audience can freely benefit from Nintendo's famous puzzle game treatment, but despite some contagious stimulating effects of the multiplayer battles, its yet wholly tactile formula appears too drastically altered for ergonomical and economical reasons to prove more efficient than generic medicine.

    Dr. Mario World is so different in gameplay, it should not be called Dr. Mario. Though the gameplay is pretty fun, this game is not the instant must play that the original Dr. Mario is.

    Dr. Mario World wants your money, and it really doesn't care if you have fun while it tries to pry your wallet open, and that really is the biggest damnation I can give to a mobile game. Don't bother downloading this, it's not even worth your time as a free curiosity. A massive disappointment, and one of the worst Nintendo licensed games I have ever played.

    I have been playing for hours and let me tell you micro-transactions are not required in order to compete, neither it brings any kind ofI have been playing for hours and let me tell you micro-transactions are not required in order to compete, neither it brings any kind of competitive advantage, they are mainly used for buying diamonds which allow you to buy lives( not having to wait 2.5 hours in order to re stock) . YES I would rather prefer to pay 10 usd and leave micro transactions aside BUT the market appears to love micro transactions, 5 to 1 it seems if we analyze mario run ( one time pay) vs other mobile nintendo games with microts . THIS GAME IS SUPER ADDICTIVE and well made, I don’t know if it is not a perfect adaptation to the original but is is super fun and well made, remember nintendo is launching these mobile games for positioning its franchises with non console gamers, they really don’t care much for the impact of their revenue on this field , they see it more as marketing for creating future switch owners. That said this game deserves an 8.5 at least !… Expand

It's a little on the easy side, but I do not use any of the special abilities available to me and that makes the challenge decent enough to keep from being boring. But I would still like it to be more difficult. I am never truly in jeopardy of losing and 3-star most boards without having to repeat them.

    There is grumbling about the pay-mechnacis, but personally I believe the pay mechanics are PERFECT. That is to say, completely optional. I do not interact with ANY of the pay mechanics and it has not affected my game in the slightest. So for all intents and purposes, they don't exist to me. It's just a game.

    Any potential buyers DO need to be aware, though, that this is NOT classic Doctor Mario as it was released on the NES years ago. This is a bit of a "reverse" Doctor Mario that plays in a different manner. It is much more complex but, when you get the hang of it, just as fun.    … Expand

If you use up all 5 of your free lives (which won't happen until you are multiple 20-level worlds into it) you will be asked if you want to spend some money to buy more diamonds in order to purchase new lives. At this point you can simply go play the unlimited multiplayer mode which is fantastic. The only issues I have with it are that 4000 coins to unlock a new character seems a bit too much and that it requires constant online connection. I have had hours of fun with it.… Expand

Even on solidly stable WiFi, the connection to game's servers tends to be sketchy at best.

    And that's before we even get into the gameplay, which is essentially just your standard match three type mobile game. There are literally thousands of these match three style mobile games and I can't find a single thing that Dr. Mario World does better than any of them. Except crash. It crashes better.

    If this were a retail Switch or DS release, it wouldn't even get the Nintendo Seal of Quality.    … Expand
