    Abstract: Dandara is a masterpiece of classic metroid-type games. It is a equal to the console/PC game so expect quality and level way above the average mobile games quality, even more now that it includes for free the "Trials of Fear" expansion, it is two (long) games in one. It has a retro style (and "retro difficulty", it is hard for today's standards) and controls particulary designedAbstract: Dandara is a masterpiece of classic metroid-type games. Due to his wonderful controls, Dandara is a rare exception: it is better to play it on an iOS device than on a console.

    Full Review: Dandara is a masterpiece game. It has revolutionary and clever controls, which surprisingly fit the metroid-type game much better than the classic controls. I am not particularly fond of this kind of games, but Dandara really got my heart from the start.

    You will see a lot mixed reviews and some not-so-good marks, both on users and "critics". Why is it so if I say Dandara is great? Well that is because there are many younglings writing these days which do not know what they do. They don't like Dandara because they don't like metroid-type/retro games, that's it. In that sense, Dandara do requires something from you: it is a pure retro, pure metroid game. I mean "pure", totally pure. Don't buy if you don't like those things. But those "critics"/"users" are saying that they don't like retro/metroid games, they are not speaking about Dandara but they are rather speaking about the genre. How foolish would be to rate low Monkey Island 2 because you don't linke graphics advendtures, wouldn't be? In addition, adding to the "retro" style, Dandara is somehow hard for today's standards. Most millenials do not enjoy hardships, they like games that you can complete without repeating anything, with an "autopilot-mode". Those "millenial critics" will not write good reviews for anything that remembers them that they are not skillful players. However, once again that's up to taste. I found it delightful, and it also includes "cheats" if you want to lower the difficulty.

    Speaking about other things: The soundtrack is just great, as well as the ambient. Special mention to "Trials of Fear" edition, which includes for free an expansion which is just another full gamet built in as long as the original. Hence, the length of "Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition" is actually remarkable. It is also worth noting that the game requires verly little specifications to run smoothly, so it worked perfectly on my old iPhone 6.

    Many people could compare Dandara with Ori, which is the "beautiful" and famous metroid type game of these days. However, if you like good and well designed games instead of fancy cinematics and music, then Dandara is your game (on top of that, you can't play Ori on your iPhone, can you?). In years to come, no one will look to Ori because it is just a regular game with beautiful graphics and cool soundtrack, while Dandara is a true game and it will be worth replaying.    … Expand

    One of the most captivating games I've known. The story is very deep, each artist is memorable, including mainly Dandara, the main character that captivates you a lot. The game is very challenging, and will make you have a rage of punching the wall sometimes, but even so, you can't stop wanting to reset it, because the    Dandara + Trials Of Fear Edition - 9.7 / 10 {really recommend it}

    One of the most captivating games I've known. The story is very deep, each artist is memorable, including mainly Dandara, the main character that captivates you a lot. The game is very challenging, and will make you have a rage of punching the wall sometimes, but even so, you can't stop wanting to reset it, because the dynamics of salt upgrades, the fluid gameplay, the differentiated and practical movement, the multiple attacks available, the giant map for a 2D game (with different regions, and new dangers to face) the perfect soundtrack, everything makes this game a complete masterpiece, even if you play on mobile, or on PC, or on a console. In addition, the DLC is really good. The game literally verges on perfection, but it’s not perfect, because there’s a area on the map that’s so confusing that you waste time on it more than necessary. Besides that, the game is a unique 2D dark souls experience, with a perfect atmosphere, and tense / enigmatic in some moments of history,
    while in others, fear prevails, yes, the game plays with your emotions throughout it.

    Really creative title with its strengths being its uniquely crafted world and art style. The Soundtrack also provides for a well rounded experience in the game. You can definitely tell they put a lot of heart into the development of game’s environment and it pays off in dividends.     I'd been looking forward to Dandara ever since trying it out almost a year ago, so I'm ecstatic that it's finally available. It's proven to be well worth the wait too, because this game is superb in every aspect. The visual style is gorgeous, the sound is delightful, controls are intuitive and streamlined, and the mechanic is different but satisfying. I know it's early on in the year, but this is a contender for game of the year for me.

    Yes, some people are going to find that steep price point a little off-putting, but this is a superb mobile game that's releasing at the same time on the App Store as it is on other platforms. But even if it wasn't, there'd still be a case to be made that Dandara was worth it. If you're a fan of superbly designed action games, then you owe it to yourself, and to the devs, to give this one a try.

    If you were ever going to shell out for a iOS game that is premium to its core, you want to do it for one that earns it with stellar gameplay, stylish presentation and just the right dash of nostalgia. Dandara connects all of those dots the same way it gets you leaping from point to point, and there's a good chance you're going to be spending plenty of time with it if you give it a shot.
