Cytus was developed and published by the independent company, Rayark Games. Rayark Inc. has made 3 games on the mobile platform, all of which have high ratings and over 1 million downloads. They have also been recognized as a top developer.
The game was released on January 12, 2012 and took the mobile gaming music genre by storm and has received nothing but good reviews. There have been several other rhythm games developed, but none of them combine all the values of a music game as perfectly as Cytus does.

Unlike most rhythm games, Cytus actually has a rather decent storyline and it is not hard to get caught up in it. Though, I will admit that it can be hard to follow. You will find yourself emotionally affected by the events that take place within its tale and putting the pieces together will all be worth it at the end.
The graphics are beautiful, with every element of the game acting along side the beat of the song you are playing. They are simple and elegant and will definitely leave an impression on you.
The controls couldn't be more simple. You do 1 of 3 things; tap, hold, or drag and the UI is also very easy to use. It makes the game feel so much more friendly.
The game is constantly expanding and, the developer has promised new content for every download milestone the games hits, adding to the already large list of currently available songs. You will certainly be playing for days on end.
The music available for users to play is amazing and the indy composers definitely put their best into their works. Some of the songs even play along to the story, oh and did I mention that there are secret songs that you can find.
This game is simply amazing and definitely worth every moment you can give it.

Cytus is certainly a gem in the sea of apps out there. You should go check it out. Every download, like, and review helps the developer and I would certainly like to see more apps from Rayark Inc.

A classic and an essential for any rhythm players out there. It's a beast of a game that has such a masterful concept and design. The music is rich and cascading with mechanics that are simple enough and easy to follow. The difficulty, however, is probably the smartest part of the game as the developers seem to find no end in infinitesimally experimenting with note board designs. The difficulty, however, is probably the smartest part of the game as the developers seem to find no end in infinitesimally experimenting with note board designs. Any veteran player could even note this. However, that is not to say that the game has no easy songs. The game is rich and the mixture of ease, fun, complexity, and speed is all balanced here. In addition to all this, the game even features storylines joined together by numerous compositions. Chapters filled with numerous composers, beats, and tempos. I have to say that the game really delivered on its promise ever since its debut and I'm glad to have seen it blossom. Overall, its absolutely pure genius! 9/10 Expand

Rayark begins its adventure on iOS with this great rhythm game. It has cool music, a nice presentation and new ideas which make it deeply different from the classical ones. Take it!

Cytus isn't going to challenge the rhythm experts of the world. For those who love the genre but frequently stumble their way through it, however, Cytus is an immensely enjoyable title to play.

With a great selection of music, simple but well-executed gameplay, and a good, clean overall presentation, Cytus is well worth a recommendation for anyone interested in rhythm games.
