I'm enjoying Cytus II a lot so far, and it's definitely my new favorite musical rhythm game. I'm in love with the anime art style, and the music is quirky, upbeat, and catchy. The game's tutorial is helpful in terms of showing you what to do with each note type, and controls are simple. I recommend playing with your device on a table or other flat surface, so it's easier to see upcoming notes without your hands blocking your view. I just wish that the price for the other two characters were cheaper.

Cytus II is a darn good one, building on what its makers have previously accomplished and wrapping it in a slick package. Even if you don't surrender to its story, you just might to the music. Just be sure to limber up those fingers first, because they're going to be moving.

The plot attracts quite a bit of attention because of its presentation. It's a shame that there are no such artists as MafuMafu or Reol. But what we have is what we have. The downside is that the game has a lot of monetization in the form of transactions on characters or soundpacks. Rayark We did a lot of work to create and support the game, but all this is leveled out by not very good optimization. So on Android devices it often freezes or crashes, even if the device has a processor Quallcomm Snapdragon or the like. Expand

The game offers a new difficulty level with Chaos, providing a better challenge for those who found the first game too easy. The art and UI feels clean and professional. Surprisingly, the game has an actual story, and a very engaging one at that.

My only main complaint is the price of DLC. I don't mind paying 2 dollars for the game itself, but 10 dollars per DLC character is a bit of a deterrent.

The interface and graphic have been improved a lot from Cytus 1. New songs are good. There is new difficulty (Chaos) and the new notes + wider screen. These two new things makes Cytus 2 more complicated and fun. I love the modern look of it. Very creative style I must say.

For 2 dollars, you will get 33 songs which is very good price. However, there are 2 available DLCs that costs 20 dollars for both. These two dlcs will give you only 22 songs in total. This is too expensive, a BIG NO for me. Besides, in order to unlock new songs, you need to gain XP for your character. This is what I don't like about Cytus 2. The grinding is not much time-consuming but still grinding. There is also the story board in the form of messages from your fans, which is creative but somewhat a bit forceful, because you have to open the messages in order to get new songs.

Final score for Cytus 2 from me is 8/10. It is great game but still not as great as Cytus 1 (for now). For new comers, I recommend you to buy Cytus 1 first since you will get around 120 songs to play. Interface is simpler and easier to understand. We will have to wait and see if Rayak will offer something more to Cytus 2 (free) , or lower the price of DLCs. If they still insist with 10 dollars per 11 songs, I don't think Cyrus 2 can grow further. I don't know how they think this price will works.

The visuals are all very stylish, and the music is, for the most part, stellar. All of the music is sorted by genre, unlike Rayark's previous games. However, there are a few negatives to this game. The game occasionally stutters, most assured to break your combo. Characters have to level up, meaning that you have to grind. While certainly not as tedious as other games, the grind is still, I think, wholly unnecessary. Lastly, there are paid characters. This on its own is not a negative, except a. This means genres are locked, since characters are representative of a given genre. and b. Each character costs $10 USD, so that's around $32 for the entire game. This is expensive for a mobile game, although arguably not nearly as bad as other games. In short, highly recommend the base game, although I probably won't shell out another $30 for the rest of it.
