Story: 10/10 - The game follows the story closely, but expands upon certain areas. You get to go deeper into the Thug Tug bar, Goofy Goober ice cream parlour, and many more areas, including Planktopolis (one of the most difficult areas of the game, but still enjoyable.)
Gameplay: 9/10 - This is as good as any Spongebob game is ever going to get. You roam around as Spongebob or Patrick in a level, where you'll fight a multitude of different enemies to get to your goal: a GG token. These tokens are an essential part of the game, as they let you progress to the next level. Most are collected in challenges, while some are collected at the end of levels. Extra items like treasure chests (to unlock extra items, like alternate costumes) and GG tokens can also be found off the beaten path in most levels. The stages in this game come in three types: Roaming, Driving, and Boss. Roaming is the regular platformer gameplay. Driving sections put you in a vehicle to complete an objective. Boss battles pit you up against enemies such as King Neptune or Dennis the Mercinary, with these foes having a larger amount of health than typical enemies. You can collect floating weights (in game currencey) to upgrade Spongebob and Patrick's special moves, such as the Butt Smash, Explosive Glove, and more.
Graphics: 9/10 - Characters and enviroments look exactly as they should. Not a blurred texture to be found here.
Sound: 10/10 - From walking sounds to character voices, everything is as it is in the show. Music for the levels is perfect, ranging from creepy (Welcome to Planktopolis, Minions) to comical (I'm Ready... Depression). Each track fits the enviroment and situation perfectly.
Overall: 10/10 - Overall, the Spongebob Squarepants Movie game is an addicting platformer with a wide variety of enemies, unlockables, and level types. If you are a platformer lover, this is definitely the game for you.

The levels are fun and they take everything we loved from the movie and make it into game and make it even BETTER! This game does have the same graphics as the last games so that was a bit lazy but this game overall is great!

This game is phenomenal! It represents the movie greatly! But besides that it's what you expect from a Spongebob platformer game, but this one has more creativity...well it's based off the movie so obviously it's creative.

I played this game as a kid but replaying it now the charm still holds. Levels are fun (and still challenging), the abilities are great and it has ton of replay value.

Although this game is outdated, it is still a great game. This deserves a remake too! I miss gaming for what it was 10-20 years ago. How could the critics be this harsh?

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie manages to slide its game before its movie counterpart to face numerous other licensed games of 2004 and outmatch them all to even the results with its superior spiritual predecessor named Battle for Bikini Bottom.

This is quiet nostalgic for me, but judging without the nostalgia, it's still a decent game to play. The upgrades and new moves kept me playing until the end so that's a huge plus considering that I'm not impressed at all by platformers.

The Spongebob games have always had a special place in my heart. This one is no exception. This game makes you feel like you are actually in the movie, since it stays so accurate. The controls are really good. The levels are well designed and packed with little secrets to come back to with new abilities and find. And the humor is really funny as well. I do have to knock this game a few points for numerous glitches. I even went out of bounds with a really simple platforming trick. Plus, some ability upgrades actually make getting some collectables HARDER. Aside from that, this game was a really solid addition to the Gamecube's library. Expand

Also the difficulty is overall easy but has some levels and parts the will challenge gamers of all ages. The only problems I had were with the camera being very annoying at times. Also Some of the levels are very boring and many of the moves that Spongebob and Patrick have, have been seen in past games. This game was long and fun, it's definitely not as straightforward as you may think it is. The story is the best story I have ever seen for a video game inspired by an animated movie. If you watched the series as a child, you will definitely love this game.

It is an amazing sequel to Spongebob Battle for Bikini bottom and it is worth playing it once your finished battle for Bikini bottom but it’s still great if you don’t have battle for bikini bottom and it holds up well for today.

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie has impressed me so much that I'm almost embarrassed to admit it. There's loads of variety to keep anybody quiet for ages - it even kept me up, playing until the break of dawn!
  2. An above average platform game that delivers in terms of quality and fun. While not as joyous as Battle for Bikini Bottom, it is still a good game which will offer hours of gameplay.

Controls feel responsive and the camera rarely hinders your view of the action. And the humor of the show practically seeps out of every clamshell and bed of kelp you cross.
