This game is awesome! The graphics are great for the game's time period, the minigames are very original, and the game board integration is well planes. I also love the 4-team party mode. This is my favorite of all of the Mario Party games!

Waths wrong with nintendo? Are they losing the creativity so thats why they keep repeating the same game with the same things? They are just using Mario so they can win money, the microphone is not fun and you will just usit once. And finally, the game takes forever, its not even a party, i will call i t "Mario wait in the line 7".

Melee, StarFox Assault, Mario Power Tennis, Nintendo Puzzle Collection, Naruto 3 or 4, Mario Kart Double Dash, Donkey Kongas, Mr Driller Drill Land,...) for name some of the exclusive GC 4 player games. Well, Mario Party 7 makes a big step and offers 8 player support in the same screen at same time with only 4 controllers. That's nothing new because it really appeared in Micromachines 64, based on the GameGear's micromachine multiplayer (and I'm sure some other game have used this idea) but it's really worth that the Mario Party saga uses this idea. If Mario Parties were funny with 3 friends, think about 7 friends. If there is something bad in this game isn't the 1 player mode because it's really a multiplayer game. I see 1 player mode just like an addition instead of a game mode. There are some details could be improved like (in my opinion) get Waluigi out of the saga (I hate it), and definitily remove the weird capsule balls that makes the game in boards slower and gives more chances to luck than hability. Board game seems too slow to you? Then play directly to the minigames, of course you can. Expand

Unfortunately, this is a sad repeat of a tiresome series. It probably would have been best if Nintendo had stopped with the third Mario Party. It probably would have been best if Nintendo had stopped with the third Mario Party. But as long as there are new gamers, there will be a new Mario Party, so there will probably be more Mario Party games than Super Bowls by 2030. You know, I'm not even sure why I bought this game in the first place. Why did I expect there to be anything new or interesting about this version? This is truly Mario's low point. Even Mario himself would be baffled as to why there are 7 (SEVEN!!!) games in this series. Don't get me wrong, I like Nintendo, but I think that they need to put an end to this. To those who gave this game a 10, this is your first Mario Party game, isn't it? I for one know that this game is a repeat of an OK game. Even back when I actually liked this series (Mario Party 4), I most certainly would not have given it a 10. An 8, maybe, but not a 10. What's wrong with you all? This whole game is based on LUCK. Basically, that means that the single player is pointless. The only reason to play this game is for the mini games, and 1) you need to play single player to even get the mini games, and 2) not even half of the mini games are any good anyway. The only reason that I would bring out Mario Party 7 now is if I were desperate to entertain company, and I have much better games for that. That is, unless I have an ignorant 4 year old over, which has like a 1 in 1,999,999,999 chance of happening. Plus, what makes this game worse is that there is no final boss battle! The boss battle against Bowser in Mario Party 4 was awesome. It took me a while to finally beat that guy on his evil cube of death. Heck, even Mario Party 5 wasn't that bad. 6 and 7 have been awful, though, and they make me have nightmares at night about a possible Mario Party 50. Man, that gives me the shivers. Expand

This is an amazing game. This one was the best at the time it came out. The graphics were great for the time. The minigames are fun. The character selection is great. The boards are awesome. This is one of my favourite Mario Parties and if you have a GameCube, this game is worth getting.

The last gamecube Mario Party and this one doesn't fail. The game has gotten better than Mario Party 6 and 5. This game is still flawed but the pros take over the cons by a lot.

Mario Party 7 is a good game, very entertaining, and keeps the mechanics of MP6 and 5 ongoing and fresh while all those things are good there is no denying this game goes at a snail pace, sorry but a 10 turn game of MP7 feels like 50 turn round, but still the game isn't bad. This game is amazing! Truly one of the best Mario Parties. Every turn there are so many events that keep players engaged. 8-player mode is also a really fun mode that should be brought back in future instalments.

This is where Mario Party went way to gimmicky for me. Most of the boards, while nicely designed, have stupid gimmicks that ruin the playability of the board. Also, turn the microphone mode off, you'll thank me later (you need a microphone controller for this to work anyway, so you might not have that. Lucky you).
Overall, everything is the same old Mario Party, but with stupid gimmicks shoved everywhere. The gimmicks dont end here people. The gimmicks dont end here...

Mario Party 7 is a definite contender for being the weakest link in the Gamecube tetralogy. And that's a downright shame following Mario Party 6, argued to be the best game in the series. While I don't despise this game by any means, it does feel somewhat lacking in the usual level of charm the Mario Party series is well known for. For one thing, the game starts out with a pretty bland intro of Mario and his pals going on a luxury cruise around the world. And Bowser, being Bowser...can't have any of that. So it's up to Mario and friends to casually ignore him as they travel the globe for stars for some reason. It's not that I hate the world tour theme, but I really wish that did more with it. It's fun to watch Bowser shake things up every 5 turns. Like forcing everyone to take a cheesy group photo, charge a ridiculous sum of cash, and then make off without even giving anyone the picture. That's pretty funny, but it's also pretty predictable. Not to mention, Toadsworth is pretty generic host. Starting with Mario Party 3, each game included a set of original or magical characters leading Mario and company on fun adventures. But Toadsworth has no charm what so ever in this entire game. He just states the obvious and has an annoying habit of offering way too many tutorials. My guy, just leave me alone! Apparently he's a wizard in this game though. Able to summon players at an instant during announced Duel mini games. And I find it disturbing that he is strangely okay with putting Princess Peach in this incredibly dangerous party. Just stare into his cold eyes as he teleports the princess and you'll know what I'm talking about. The MSS Sea Star setting is just as boring. The interior design is just so uncreative. Without those Koopa Troopa waiters or those Ukiki sailors, this menu would have little to memorability. Expand

There are 2 new characters introduced to the series being Birdo and Dry Bones, and at the time they were excellent additions. We’ve got a good amount of boards which all play differently from one another which I really like. My favourites include Pagoda Peak where you’re climbing up a mountain to get the star and the price changes every time one is obtained, and Neon Heights where there are three treasure chests in different US themed areas, and there’s a chance you’ll either get a star or blown up by a bob-omb. Once again, the orbs return and makes things more interesting. The minigames are fun to play as usual, and this is the first and only game so far to include 8-player minigames, which even though there is only a few, it was a cool new mechanic to have. The only real problem this game is that some elements started to feel a little stale and it was time to change things up a bit… or so we thought! We eventually got Mario Party 9 and for years after that, we wanted to go back! But either way, this is one of my favourite Mario Party games, and you’ll get many many hours out of it! Expand

This party feels boring, and there's not much to do beside play some linear boards and bad minigames. Avoid this one unless you are craving for a Mario Party that is a Mario Party with no things that set it apart from just a Mario Party.

Mario Party 7 probably is the best game overall in the franchise to date; however, even with that being the case it simply doesn't do enough new to warrant a definitive purchase.
  3. Basically Mario Party 6, but with less fun and [fewer] new ideas.
