Nintendo PowerExcellent graphics, animation, voice acting and control make the GCN adaptation of Finding Nemo a pleasure to watch and play. [July 2003, p.145]
-
One of the best movie-licensed games Ive seen so far this year and I highly recommend it for kids and their parents or anyone just looking for a fun and unique game.
-
Its frustrating at certain points, while other gameplay is sloppy executed.
-
Game InformerUnlike a lot of titles geared toward the younger set, this one is actually fun and well designed, with great graphics and good sound. [Aug 2003, p.93]
-
While there have certainly been worse Disney games in the past, this adaptation of Finding Nemo is just an average game with a few kinks that mar an otherwise decent experience.
-
TotalGames.netA pleasant game, surprisingly tough in places and if you're over 13, probably likely to be the cause of quite a few broken joypads in its flawed glory.
-
IGNHorrid load times. There is no reason why it should take more than three minutes to get to a level, especially considering the age group this game is targeted at. And there's certainly no reason the GameCube version should take longer to load or look worse than the PS2 game.
-
An uncomfortable, awkward attempt at a platform adventure title.
-
Whether it is the long loading times, the low framerate, or the poor control, there is really no reason for anyone except a hardcore fan to purchase this game.
-
If it really was designed with the younger gamer in mind, the excessively long load times should really have been minimized. If the slightly older sibs/parents were also the intended audience, some more button controls during both the 3d and side-scrolling sequences would have been very much appreciated.
-
netjakMaking a game intended for children does not make poor game design OK. While children may indeed enjoy parts of Finding Nemo, it is likely it will greatly frustrate them in the long run, and frustration for frustrations sake is simply no fun.
