  1. It's never as tense as its console sibling, and it suffers from a few frustrating flaws, but the core sneak 'em up gameplay - evading enemies and cameras, silencing alarms, collecting data and using your spy tools - is well represented.

It's a good game, but it lacks the qualities that make the greats - the Marios, Castlevanias, and Metroids - absolute must-haves. [June 2003, p.79]
  3. This game suffers from the fact that its console counterpart is so amazing and that it seems to distance itself from that greatness.
  4. This version of Splinter Cell is a good enough game on its own merits to tide over Splinter Cell fans looking for a portable version or GBA owners looking for a briskly paced game to have on the go.

All the pipe crawling and shadow sneaking give SC diversity other GBA adventures lack. [June 2003, p.127]

A good enough game in its own right although it's a poor substitute for the real experience.

This game is fun for all the sneaking around but it is also a very short game! I beat this game within 2 short days of playing it. Not Enough This game is fun for all the sneaking around but it is also a very short game! I beat this game within 2 short days of playing it. Not Enough shooting. Lost of sneaking around.
