My cousin gave this to me years ago and at first I thought it would be a drag but I was surprised at how good it was and I got lost for hundreds of hours and now years. Even though it is a remake I believe it surpasses it's counterpart on every measure, Graphics, Content and most importantly Charm.

It is an excellent remake since the story follows almost intact and difficulty not to say and with a very good reason to continue playing after having completed the main objective is to win the Pokémon league. I highly recommend this game.

Pokemon LeafGreen Version is a remake of the game that turned every Game Boy into "Pokemon". Yes. After you put the Pokemon cartridge into you Game Boy you never play the Game Boy again. Yes. After you put the Pokemon cartridge into you Game Boy you never play the Game Boy again. Just "Pokemon". It becomes the Pokemon machine and you forget that it can even play other games. The remake stays true to the original enough that most nostalgic gamers wont be able to tell the difference short of new graphics and a few extra features that don't add much to the game. That's a good thing though. Pokemon Blue Version was an insanely addictive role playing game that featured one of the deepest leveling and combat systems of any title of the same genre. It sold 25 million unit's, spawned countless sequels, spin offs, and a saturday morning cartoon. It has been the most popular role playing franchise for 15 years running and shows no sighs of stopping with it continually re-inventing itself with each iteration. Certainly not the best in the series but this GBA title is a worthy remake and anyone suffering from chronic poke-fever or a new comer to the series would do themselves a great service start here. The greatest pokemon, if not GBA game ever made, a flawless masterpiece. Seriously it's a timeless classic, and the new features are a fun addition too.

Even trying to get nostalgia out of the way, this game is still a classic, it's like playing the r/b games on the gba era, so it's the same as Firered, except with exclusive pokemon changed.

Pokemon at its best. In my opinion, the graphics cannot be outdated and we still have not seen remasters with so much content (but always faithful to the original game) like this when it comes to Pokemon.

Such an unneeded remake that was made simply to suck more money out of the die hard fans of the series. I hated this game and it completely ruined the first games in the series.

Finally a remake for the first and most nostalgic Pokemon-game. (red edition was my entry into the Pokemon-universe). The Island-shipping after the 7th gym was really interesting and entertaining. The difficulty was really high in my opinion at least for my younger self. Like I said the nostalgia is real!

PokemonLeaf Green Version and its alternate Pokemon Fire Red Version for Nintendo Gameboy Advanced portable gaming system are remakes of the first two Pokemon games released known as Pokemon Red Version and Pokemon Green Version (never officially english localized by Nintendo) for the Nintendo Gameboy portable gaming system. Pokemon Fire Red Version is created to resemble Pokemon YellowPokemonLeaf Green Version and its alternate Pokemon Fire Red Version for Nintendo Gameboy Advanced portable gaming system are remakes of the first two Pokemon games released known as Pokemon Red Version and Pokemon Green Version (never officially english localized by Nintendo) for the Nintendo Gameboy portable gaming system. Pokemon Fire Red Version is created to resemble Pokemon Yellow Version (without anime exclusive events and content) and Pokemon Red Version while Pokemon Leaf Green Version is designed to resemble Pokemon Green Version and Pokemon Blue Version accordingly. Both Pokemon Fire Red Version and Pokemon Leaf Green Version have different Pokemon available and need to traded to get ones exclusive to each version and you can also trade with Pokemon Emerald Version, Pokemon Ruby Version and Pokemon Sapphire Version for even more unique Pokemon. This game is also compatible with linking to Pokemon Coliseum and Pokemon XD: G.O.D for the Nintendo Gamecube Console using a GBA Controller Cable and the Pokemon Diamond Version, Pokemon Pearl Version, Pokemon Platinum Version, Pokemon Heart Gold Version and Pokemon Soul Silver Version using the GBA slot on a Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite portable gaming consoles. This game features the original game using a completely redone "Generation 3" engine which gives it new features such as the inclusion of the Special Defense stat, hold items, Eggs, Breeding, Generation 3 era TM set, berries, and more that where absent in the the original versions as well as a completely rebuilt inventory system with categories and a large capacity instead of the original game where you could carry only 20 types of items at a maximum of 99 in quantity per slot at any given time. The game glitches from the original game are completely fixed and absent from this game, especially the infamous "MissingNo." programming error which could heavily corrupt or destroy save data if handled improperly in the original games. There are new areas completely exclusive to this remake that was absent in the original games that add more play time and exploration to the game. The music in the game is identical to the original (and some of it's sequels for the newer areas) except that they are modernized versions using the GBA's audio system to the best of its ability. The visuals are nothing special but are a notable improvement from the original releases. Multiplayer consists of battling or trading via GBA link cable or the GBA wireless link if you bought the game new as it came inside the box as a free bonus. All in all, the large amount of Pokemon to collect with most exclusive to trading with another person with a different version, fun and addictive multiplayer battle modes, minigames, new areas and compatibility with Gamecube and DS released gives this game a large replay value especially if you enjoy RPGs, are a perfectionist, are a collector, are a competitive multiplayer gamer or a major fan of nostalgic games of the past. On the other side is greener , while in the other is more red. Pokemon Leaf Green is similar tho the Fire Red version , you won't find many differences in the playthrough, though yeah, with the Pokemon and all that but , ones you start this adventure , you wont stop. And thats important.

Both FireRed and LeafGreen are well-done GBA remakes of the original GameBoy oldies, not to mention they're lot better GBA entries than Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. They're worth checking out if you're wanting nostalgia fuel.

A good demonstration of what pokemon could evolve into follwoing the game boy games. Missed bringing content that GSC had but RSE lacked but its translation of the Kanto region was amazingly done and felt as iconic as the original games.

Got as a birthday present by a friend, while not being very convincing on some aspects like other Pokémon titles, it's a really solid gen 1 remake, and the first title i've ever finished the League in, without losing or using cheats/borrowed pokemon. There is a lot of post game content too, as well with being available to trade with RSE gba titles to fill up the National Dex more quickly.Got as a birthday present by a friend, while not being very convincing on some aspects like other Pokémon titles, it's a really solid gen 1 remake, and the first title i've ever finished the League in, without losing or using cheats/borrowed pokemon. This game is remake of Pokémon Blue (Green in Japan) is awesome: new pokemons, rematches, new moves, new types makes game better than original! But big minus is postgame. It very lazy, and adds only some new pokemons. In my mind, the most interesting part of postgame is catching a Entei, Raikou or Suicune, which takes a lot of hours.

FireRed and LeafGreen are amazing games - the best thing is that they are perfectly compatible for trade with ruby, sapphire and emerald games. A lot of nostalgia is in these games because it’s the first Pokémon region that has been ever made - Kanto and you choose as starters either Charmander, Squirtle or Bulbasaur.

A near perfect remake of gen 1 (the best pokemon generation) on a system that was the near perfect handheld for it's time. Finally they gave the Bulbasaur line the respect it deserves! A must have for all GBA owners.

A great starting point for newcomers. Being my first Pokèmon game, means i have alot of nostalgia for LeafGreen. Its like all other Pokèmon games; Catch Pokèmon, wins gyms and become champion. The Sevii Islands are great post games activities, something newer Pokèmon games SORELY lacks.
The game is overall good, but Kanto can be pretty boring ngl, even though it thankfully ain`t linear.

The game is overall good, but Kanto can be pretty boring ngl, even though it thankfully ain`t linear. While they are pretty good games, there are others that are far better and with all the Gen 1 pandering that GF shoves down our throats, its become a region and generation i rarely goes back to visit.
But these games are still great and the best way to play a Kanto game.
