  1. Ostensibly a fast-paced, “adrenaline-style” rendition of football, the Game Boy Advance version of Blitz is a slow, bare-bones pigskin game that bears little resemblance to its souped-up arcade inspiration.
  2. Equal parts aggravation and disappointment.
  3. Game Informer

Playing the trivia games was about as fun as Bliz got. [Dec 2001, p.118]
  4. One thing is fact: NFL Blitz 2002 for the GBA is a stinker.
  5. While the graphics work nicely, the in-game elements are not what one would expect from a GBA title...This is a very good game.
  6. There's so much more wrong with the game (especially the lack of multi-player, and password save system – would a battery have cost that much?) that even the great sound and mediocre game play are swallowed up by this product.

Playable, but it's just so darn sloppy and rushed that it's a massive let-down for myself and anyone else waiting for the day when Midway would actually produce a quality, handheld version of their awesome football franchise.
  8. A landmark title with gameplay better than ever before and great play mechanics that defy portable gaming.
